@Mummyof5kiddos i haven't had chance to call today, i was going to call when i got home but it was 5.15 so figured they'd be closed before I got through

SarahHmumof3 · 20/11/2023 18:28

RosiesMummyx · 20/11/2023 18:29

I’m the 14/7 also. Doesn’t fill me with confidence. I keep seeing so many people from after my date have already been awarded :( @SarahHmumof3

4girlsnahubby · 20/11/2023 18:34

Really hope you both hear soon. Can only imagine how much it's stressing you out, as my date is later and I've had enough!!

MammyAng84 · 20/11/2023 18:35

According to man today it could just mean that the decision maker that has ur claim has harder to decide claims before urs which mean urs is delayed xx

Sockbabies · 20/11/2023 18:42

@Toni1228 I reported it on 3rd November xx

Clairexdx · 20/11/2023 18:44

SarahHmumof3 · 20/11/2023 19:00

Me :( feels like a decline when I’m hearing dates after mine be awarded. I just can’t get through to them to hear an update though

RosiesMummyx · 20/11/2023 19:03

@Clairexdx me! Haha x

Clairexdx · 20/11/2023 19:12

my claim is for my 8yo daughter. Who I suspect has adhd of some form. School are on board with me. But she masks at school and doesn’t do anything at school. So it makes me think il be declined. She does Elsa class at school and emotional support class. And school have put a bit in the dla form. But I am struggling at home. I have 4 children. My eldest is type one diabetic. And I have my daughter letdown after meltdown. Screaming. Random words. Fighting with her sisters. I know it’s way above an 8 year old of her age. The amount of times I have to tell her and encourage her to do things is unreal. She’s anxious and has no time awareness. She picks at her fingers. She doesn’t listen to a word we say. We’ve tried over and over dif things. To help. I’m just lost. With dla I was hoping to get a private adhd assesment as Nhs wait times were looking at 2 years.
sorry for my rant. There is so much more than this btw x

Mummyrach13 · 20/11/2023 19:13

Thank you so much @Mumto2sengirlsxx ❤️ xx

Has anyone not rang, not recieved a text but waited for the letter ?
how long does the letter take after the decision has been made? And do you get a letter either way awarded and declines ?

RosiesMummyx · 20/11/2023 19:37

It’s really hard, and filling out the form was next level to me. So I know exactly how you’re feeling.
My daughter is 7 months old, she has a really rare genetic condition. Diagnosed at 8 weeks old. Feeding difficulties since birth, has been Ng fed since 4 weeks old. Still Ng fed now every 3 hours. Havnt even attempted the weaning process yet as speech and language/dietician don’t think she’s ready. She still can’t hold her head up on her own as of yet so doesn’t have a fully safe swallow or safe feeding position to do so, we have physio every 3 weeks as she is delayed with gross motor skills and has hypotonia. We are on the waiting list for stomach peg. Her condition is really rare so even at her genetics appointment there wasn’t anymore information they could give us in terms of her future other than what we got told the day we got her genetic results, we just have to “watch and wait” we’ve been told.
The feeding process alone takes me an hour as to try and make sure she doesn’t lose her swallowing skill we bottle feed for 20 mins (she only manages 30ml) before she gets too tired. Then we have to wait 20 mins then test the ph to ensure it’s in the correct place to Ng feed, which is the ph isn’t correct we have to wait longer. She only takes 90ml feeds at a time so we have to feed every 3 hours to ensure her growth. She also has 2 heart defects, and placiocephaly. I have included all of this on her form, but it’s a whole new world to me. I didn’t even know what to write on the form, so it may not even be right or enough.
It was incredibly hard.
So I’ve been waiting coming up to 19 weeks on Friday for a decision so it fills me with anxiety if they’re to think she doesn’t require more care daily than other babies without special needs. X
@Clairexdx so rant away, I can appreciate your frustration x

RainbowZebraWarrior · 20/11/2023 19:44

@RosiesMummyx (and anyone else) don't struggle with the forms if you aren't sure how to word things. For future reference, DWP have a home visit service and will complete the forms for you and upload electronically. Obviously there's still no guarantees of an award, but these officers do this all day every day so know how to word things. I had this service for my daughters DLA claim and my own PIP claim (haven't received awards for either yet, so like I say, no guarantee of anything, but just to say there is help avaliable) I just found it helped me knowing it had been uploaded and I didn't have the worry of it all being lost in the post.

RosiesMummyx · 20/11/2023 19:48

@RainbowZebraWarrior ah thank you for this! Good to know for future references x
