I just got through to someone(I’m sure it was the same person as last week)
My scan date is 20/7 last week I got told it had been changed to 27/7 and now today I got told it’s 20/7 but could still be waiting another two weeks for them to look at it.
I think they should change their automated message to wait times being at least 18 weeks

Mumof3specialkids · 20/11/2023 13:09

Just off the phone, an hour on hold.
No decisions, no updates, no DM/CM, no holding queue. Just told based on my dates that it will be December at the very earliest but more likely end of December.
Don’t think I have the will to call again.

Jude82 · 20/11/2023 13:10

@Holly0209 It’s only 1 carers element allowed per claimant. That being said if you have a joint claim your other half can claim carers element for the other child with the qualifying benefit.

Jaffacakesrlife · 20/11/2023 13:17

@Kelseeyx thanks for the update. 22nd Dec is ages away but hopefully its a good outcome for us xx

Mummyof5kiddos · 20/11/2023 13:19

who on here is still waiting for 17/18/19 July?

Hardingcl · 20/11/2023 13:21

@Mummyof5kiddos me 18/7
Called this morning , she said was with case manager xx

Sabz30 · 20/11/2023 13:21

Still waiting from the 19/07 called this morning to be told it’s gone to a DM this morning x

Jude82 · 20/11/2023 13:22

Does anyone know how they actually calculate things at UC? Gone on and now the backdate amount letter is £300 short by my reckoning. Honestly it’s always something when dealing with them. Did anyone else have a figure they couldn’t quite figure out when trying to get their backdate?

MammyAng84 · 20/11/2023 13:23

Just got off phone, basically told same as last week that it hasn’t even gone to a Dm yet & it should go next week again. He says it could be around 2/3 weeks wait depending on how many cases they have before me. Scan date 20/07

Hardingcl · 20/11/2023 13:24

I'm dying to call again this afternoon 🤣I just want to know either way now xx

MammyAng84 · 20/11/2023 13:27

I actually give up now 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm still waiting for a response back from UC. 2 unanswered messages! So for me, my boy was awarded from 12/07 so I would be expecting the backdated money be from August, sept, oct and November as the 12/07 is the assessment period for August. Hope this makes sense x

Geegee1506 · 20/11/2023 13:30

@Mummyof5kiddos me I'm 18/7 still waiting called last week and the said I should hear something this week but might ring tomorrow morning see if it's gone to a DM yet

AgaLaura2Olivia · 20/11/2023 13:40

Hi I'm also 18/7 will try to call tomorrow

It’s a bit tedious but if you go through your bank statements and see what you’ve been paid via UC for previous months and then write it down. You can then compare what you were awarded to what you should have been awarded (carers/disabled element) added on. You can then work out the difference to see what your backpay should be. They would have already amended your payments on your account so that’ll be no use to you.

I can help you if you via PM if you’d like but it’ll be a lot of typing seeing as MN doesn’t allow picture messages🫠

MinnieL · 20/11/2023 13:45

Oh fgs I’ll just be MinnieL on this thread as I have no energy to change my name to PinkMoscatoLover for every comment!

Sskanf · 20/11/2023 13:46

@Jude82 yeah I expect it will arrive tomorrow. Maybe it depends on areas as to when u get a response from UC
@Asdmummyhere do they not backdate from when you called for the forms I was awarded Thursday gone scan date 12/07 too was told by DLA that I am awarded from 21st June I told this to UC I hope it is correct and ine not told them an earlier date

MinnieL · 20/11/2023 13:50

@Jude82 another suggestion is you could post on the DLA group on FB as a lot of the top contributors are really helpful. Whether or not the admin team will actually approve your post is a separate issue lol. They’re unnecessarily strict over there!

Mummyof5kiddos · 20/11/2023 13:19

who on here is still waiting for 17/18/19 July?

@Mummyof5kiddos Me 19/07, I've tried calling but keep getting cut off after the automated system so I've given up.

I've decided it's a decline and going to start looking at increasing my hours at work after Christmas.

MammyAng84 · 20/11/2023 14:00

I’ve just spoke to some one & im not at dm yet with a day later than u so maybe ur sat with me somewhere waiting xx

Vampiredette84 · 20/11/2023 14:03

What number do they ring you off as I’ve had a random mobile number ring me but I can’t ring it back ?

Asdmummyhere · 20/11/2023 14:04

@Sskanf yes it will be from award date. I was awarded from July 12th. Sorry for any confusion x

Rebeccanew · 20/11/2023 14:05

@Sskanf nope I havnt even had a message back of uc yet? Do they help much when you call them? Xxxxx

Raych1989 · 20/11/2023 14:13

I've called UC today after putting 2 messages on over last 2 weeks and 3 days to be told there is no time frame. My monthly payment this month included the extra for disability element but nothing about backdate or when I am likely to recieve it. He basically just said it takes time to do it and hopefully I'll get it before Xmas! Another waiting game now 🤬
