DLA Wait times part 20… (2023)

Following on from part 19 as it’s about to become full.

Hi.

Scan date 30/6 COC
When I last called, I was told mid January. However, yesterday someone said the wait is down to 23.5 weeks.
Someone 15/5 scan date was Award last week. Such a long wait.

I know it’s difficult as we all want to find out if a decision has been made on our DC’s claim, but if you get told your claim is with a DM, it’s best to give it 3/4 working days for a decision to be made.

A decision can be made quicker but remember your claim gets allocated to a DM in a pile with other peoples. I see so many comments of people stressing about calling only to get cut off, speak to a rude agent or get told there’s no further update as it was only allocated to the DM a day before.

I wouldn’t rely on a text as the texts are so rare it’s ridiculous but try and give it a few days just to avoid any extra stress for yourselves. Wishing the best for everyone on the thread as always🫶🏾

@Loui5 I’m 14/7 and heard nothing. I called yest and they said it can be done anytime this week :/ x

It's been 14 weeks received 2 text saying still looking at claim its just a waiting game

@Sockbabies they seem to take the time! I Asked for both elements to be backdated on the 31st October. They should be backdating to 10th June! But not heard anything, I asked yesterday if they had been sent to a Dm for backpay and they said the disabled child Element had been missed and was then sent yesterday! Can’t see how they missed it when I asked for both in the same message.
lt just seems like another lot of waiting x

@Amy92x I’m the same as you I’m currently trying to get through as was told to ring after 15 weeks

The wait times are ridiculous n the fact ive tried to call about 6 times to be cut of is to say the least annoying.

@Vampiredette84 oh nice to have someone the same scan date as me.

I was originally told I would have a Decision on the 27th of November that would make me 17weeks +3 then I was told 20 weeks wait and to call in January if I hadn't heard by Christmas then the lady today said 17 and ahalf weeks so I think it's just a waiting game as I've been told so many different dates lol. However I have seen the odd 27th or 28th scan dates awarded but I think they just throw a few later dates in here and there.

Congratulations to everyone awarded and fingers crossed to us all waiting.

Got through after an hour and twenty minutes and had a really harsh person this time. She said no decision has been made and said not to ring back for at least 2 weeks because it can take a very long time to be looked at 🙈 But then the woman I spoke to last said that once it gets to a DM it’s usually quite quick. Why do they all have such different information. I don’t get it at all x

Clairexdx are we the only ones on here with 14/7 scan date. Hopefully we no by friday or it will be another long weekend x

@Mummyrach13 just a update for you and anyone else waiting on UC backdate...

I just recieved a letter telling me how much they owe me and all my statements have been changed to reflect this.
Backdate is too june assessment period up to October and element is now added to my monthly statement.
Had a message this morning off a normal work coach informing me that the backdate had been approved (so wasn't with a original letter from a dm) and told a case manager would be looking at backdate etc and it is actually my old work coach who has worked out backdate and informed me.
So I think the decision makers must be swamped and normal case managers are working on backdate queries too!
I've asked twice in 2 weeks for a update so maybe just write on there once you hit 2 weeks from going to a dm for a update so they don't forget about you. Hope you all hear back soon I know the wait can be frustrating xxx

I have just received a text my daughter qualifies 😭 I do not know the rates but all I can say is my daughter will be able to have all she needs, I feel so emotional, it’s been such a long and tough wait, I want to thank you all for this thread and keeping me going, I wish all of you the very best of luck with your awards and hope you all receive what your children deserve

On hold at the moment, wasn't going to call today but getting frustrating now as been 18 weeks on Thursday. Xox

Currently on hold as I had missed call unknown and knowing it’s with decision maker makes me think…also he did say I could call back later but I know my luck still be no decision or decline…I’m seeing a lot of awards after my date so I don’t see no harm in calling..I’ll keep yous updated but we’ll done to all awards girls ❤️ xxxxx

Got through after being on hold for 1 hour 35 mins. The guy said it should be no longer than 2 weeks. Scan date 28/7

The woman I had on phone says they are only at middle of July so asked how people after me r getting decisions & she said they shouldn’t be as they going in strict date order but watching this thread proves they are

@MammyAng84 I don't know if they are going by date order as people after my 12/07 have been awarded and I've been told mines still in a pile for next week
