Yep they are all separate elements that get added onto your claim before any deductions.

Just to clarify, you already receive the child element for your son on UC right? If so, then follow the steps written out in the screenshot so that you can add the disabled child element and carers element onto your claim.

No worries about the questions! I just hope that all makes sense to you?

I'm on week 15 from scan date, anyone else calling in at 15 weeks?? I'm getting very anxious.

So I currently receive £250 UC this is before updating that my sons been awarded DLA
From what I've read on the thread there's no point claiming carers allowance as its means tested. So I'll just claim the elements, no I don't receive child element.

Hey, I’ve been watching this thread for a bit.
Scan date is 20/7 I rang today and the man on the phone told me my scan date had been changed to 27/7, when I asked he said that sometimes the system does that. Just wanted to let you all know x

@Sskanf you don’t receive the child element at all? Why the heck not?! I’m going to PM you if that’s okay?

I'm on hold. Wonder what they'll tell me today. Would be nice to just hear it's with a decision maker to be honest. Got nowt better to do today since little man is poorly.

Me three 😂 I’ve been seeing a lot awarded around our date now. Literally cannot cope with it, it’s actually driving me a bit crazy! Constantly checking my texts too just in case I’ve missed one 🤦‍♀️😂

@Mummyrach13 that gives me some hope then as I was awarded Tuesday found out Wednesday so could I potentially receive the back pay on Friday that’s 3 days right? X

@Sskanf as @PinkMoscatoLover says you should get the child element! Regardless of DLA you get that simply for having a child?! There’s been a serious error if you’ve never had that and it should be backdated to the start of your claim as has to be their error? I’m sure you would have said you had a child when applying for UC? It’s one of the set questions…

Hi just jumping in here I don’t currently qualify for universal credit atall but I’m waiting for my dla to be awarded 🤞 if all goes well I believe I would the. Qualify for uc do u know by any chance if I have to wait for the dla to be awarded untill I start the process of claiming uc ?? xx

do you need a reference number when you ring I’m at work so don’t have it too hand but really want to ring and find out what my son was awarded

I got through just before 2 hours. She wasn’t helpful. Said it had been with a decision maker since august?! Erm no I was told yesterday it had gone to a dm yesterday. Lol
still no decision as yet 😩 18 weeks tmw

@Bambi91 are you in the Newcastle area by any chance if you don't mind me asking? It seems to be up that way they are doing these dates. I'm 25/7 but Yorkshire. Not news yet.

i wasn’t sure if my scan date was correct because I received my second text around the same time as people who have the week before scan dates
