DLA Wait times part 20… (2023)

Following on from part 19 as it’s about to become full.

U have same date as me & when I rang yesterday they told me it should go with dm next week xx

@Sskanf @Rebeccanew Just got through! the lady was OK not great just ok lol. Basically I am with a DM now not a CM?? New evidence has been recd but not scanned on. Basically told to wait I am not calling again its giving me palpitations xx said i should hear early next week 😩

my child is registered blind so I don’t think it would be rejected - it’s just so difficult waiting and wondering if I need to provide more information! It feels so archaic that it’s all done via paper and not email / online ect. Feels like it takes extra long - but that’s just me having a good moan 🤣🤣

tried to call three times now and it gets past the agonising menu to beep over and over and hang up 🤣 it’s gonna be a loooong morning - good luck everyone else!

@MangoPepsiLover I feel your pain. I am on the brink of frustrated tears here, I’d literally get disciplinary action against me for call avoidance at work if I kept disconnected customers yet it seems to be standard practice for this line! I deliberately selected another option second time after I got cut off and got through to a woman who said she couldn’t help as she just sends DLA forms out and I had rang wrong number- yes I know! But I wanted to ask her to transfer me internally or check her system for or update or something, anything 🤷🏻‍♀️ as I’m at a loss what to do here.. she very helpfully said I had to hang up and dial again and I would hopefully get through as no reason why I should be getting cut off. I said well I won’t get through as I tried for hours and hours this week and not spoken to anyone but her but cheers!! Give me strength honestly. Shouldn’t even have to ring in the first place! Sorry to rant. 😤 and breathe…

I'm not calling today either as the last few times I've called got told its not with anyone and ots deflating

@Jude82 Same if my key logger (only on the works software not on my actual computer, so it can't see me on here or Facebook) doesn't pick up I'm quick enough or theres to big a gap in submissions of work then I get a warning, too many warnings and I can lose my job. I literally need DLA for DD so I can cut my hours as she has so many falls.

@MangoPepsiLover It makes no sense does it. It’s as if they are not governed at all even though they are the government! And it’s as if they have no internal processes in place either. I give up for today. It’s stressing me out far too much. Good luck and I hope you are awarded asap!

Just got off the phone after 40 mins on hold. We got declined. I am gutted for my girl. She has a rare bleeding disorder which causes her so many issues and also has severe hypermobility in all of her joints which cause her pain. I have to help her out of bed every morning, do all of her physio every day, cut up her food. I have to check her through the night in case she bleeds in her sleep. I have to help her stop the bleeds when they happen and help her to clean up. We throw away so many clothes and so much bedding that can't be saved. She can't go out unsupervised in case she has a bleed. She is 12 and this is really affecting her. I will wait for the letter and do an MR but not hopeful 😢 School support her with regular movement breaks and time out when she needs it. She has also been suffering with her mental health and has been self harming since May. This means she needs constant supervision and support. I am gutted 😢 😞 😭

Is everyone else calling this number? Is this the only number?

Most hilarious thing about making a complaint for unreasonable delays and being treat poorly? …you have to call them! 😂 🤔 erm…

@MKAW222 I am so sorry 😢 That sounds so hard on your daughter and family. Unbelievable and heartbreaking that you got a decline. I’d say you have to go for a MR and fight this for her ❤️ Good luck x

Called dead on 9am and on hold for 43mins. Wanted to know my scan date as never received a letter (know it was recieved 25th July as sent recorded). All I got told was claims are currently taking 17.5 weeks and not to call again as I will get a text message once a decision has been made. Never told me my scan date just said thank you for calling and hung up 🤦‍♀️

Hi all been lurking on the post for a while…. My scan date is the 27th July for my DS, on hold now to see if they have scanned the more evidence I sent in……
i had to go through all the wait last year with my DD but that only took 13 weeks for the decision and back then they said they were working on the weekends to get through all the forms.

I tried to complain last week. The lady said it has to be in writing. Online it says we can make complaints via phone 🤔

Im just wondering those who have been awarded and are on UC do you need to wait for the award letter to arrive to report the change? If so how long does it usually take to arrive? The man on the phone told me all the dates I needed last night but I'm a bit nervous about reporting it before the letter arrives! At the same time I don't wanna wait too long cos obviously it's already been so long waiting for the decision. Not sure what's best to do so thought I would ask on here ☺️ Good luck to everyone today! 🤞 For you all xxxxx

Just wish the wait times weren't so long. UC is hounding me to get back onto work. I would love to but unfortunately my 4 year olds on reduced hours as they can't manage his meltdowns, i even have to at times attend nursery with him for a few hours to help him settle. So I mainly have him at home with no other support.
I'm in touch with a SENCo from the council to up his hours however it's a process

@Cheesywiggles I changed my details on UC the day I found out it was awarded as was told the award date, don't have a letter yet and the post here is rubbish so didn't want to be waiting weeks again xx

@Sskanf I had the same, no matter how much I explained I was still having to do weekly appointments taking my boy with me and nothing actually happening as he would have a meltdown as soon as we entered the building. I ended up having a massive rant and they eventually changed my appointments to video call fortnightly. I was due one this week but half an hour after updating my uc it was cancelled. I really hope you hear soon, it's so difficult but they really don't understand xx

@Asdmummyhere Thank you for answering me ☺️ I think I'm gonna do the same , that's what I'm worried about as it's the same here with the post! Didn't wanna be waiting weeks on end again to report the change. I'll get onto it now I think! Xxxx

@Asdmummyhere yes that's literally my boy. I tried telling them he won't sit still at the appointment he will run around, scream and throw himself on the floor and meltdown when I take him anywhere busy. Just wish people had more understanding of children like this.

I will try the rant lol and see if I can get it changed to video calls instead.

Rang 9 this morning for once had a lovely lady 17 weeks this week she said it will be goin to a DM this week and just to keep an eye on my bank. Congratulations everyone awarded today ♥️

@DanniiB1983 Yeah I looked online and it says you have to call the office dealing with your claim to raise a complaint and then get them to escalate it to a manager and wait for their response and only then can you log a complaint in writing so once again clearly they don’t know what they are bloody talking about!

Postie has arrived with a letter asking for more information. 20 weeks and taken them this long to ask for more info. God knows how long it will take from here. Absolute nightmare of a system 🥲🥲🥲

Been at the hospital with my oldest boy todsy getting his cast off so only just had a chance to catch-up! @Billie1993 that's amazing news I am so happy for you 🥳🥳 thank god your wait is over 🥰🥰 ypu said your scan date was July but backdated to June 14th is that right? Or did you mean 14th July haha xxx
