DLA wait times part 18…. (2023)

Following on from part 17…

I called this morning and was told it went to a decision maker on Tuesday (31/10). I sent a few diagnosis reports and a school report. School provided a supporting evidence letter too.

Don't know what rate they have been given though or duration.

@Mummyrach13 yes, I finally got a reply 3 weeks after my first message to say it was currently with the DM so I dunno how long they take.
I've left all messages under payments as I remember someone on here saying that you won't have a work coach anymore due to not being in the looking for work category.
This is stressing me just as much as the dla wait itself.

what happens if a renewal is late?

@BoyMumGirlMum2022 if it’s been sent to a DM then there’s no time frame, some may take a week and some may take months! X

@Mummyrach13 what a nightmare.
I honestly can't see their logic. The longer it takes the more they have to pay out.

@PinkMoscatoLover ahhh Thankyou so much for your help! I’m trying to get my head around all this worked with all my other children asap so I’m so stuck at the minute! Yes completely makes sense thanks! I’m not too worried about waiting as I have two kids bdays in January so will come in handy for that hopefully get my Dla answer tomorrow! Thanks again hun x

Depends how late we’re talking. If it’s a few days late then some DM’s will allow it and process it as a standard renewal. Most times then not if it’s sent off late then it’ll have to be processed as a new claim. It’s probably best to call them when you get a chance and ask them

@Tammie23 your the scan date closest to mine I've seen up to now. I won't be finding out until next year 😭 hope you find out in the next few weeks. The anxiety is horrid! X

Hi never posted before just been watching I've been trying to get my daughter help since she was 2 she is now 7 she was meant to get reffered to jade's when she was 4 but because of covid she got lost in the system then she started school and I just got told to go through them which they didn't see a problem with her and just said everything is fine then at the end of last year admitted there might be something as my daughter stopped masking as much so I have self reffered through the doctors I belive she has adhd and on the spectrum for autism I also believe I have adhd and it does run in my family along with dyslexia which I think she has she is really behind at school I applied for dla on the 7/8/2023 I starred at the form for 4 weeks and tried getting the school to help fill it out which they wouldn't do because she isn't diagnosied even thou she is now on a long wait list to be so I managed to do it and sent it of on the 11/9/2023 but they didn't receive it till the 19/9/2023 and it was meant to be back by the 18th I sent it back with plenty of time do you think if she does get award they will back date till the 7th August also I sent extra evidence in like her referral and supporting letter from the school for refferal and her sdq but apart from this I only have adq when she was 4 and scored 140 from health visitor and speech and language assment from when she was 3 I don't have much evidence I have put what she is like on the form but the letter I wrote with it I don't think I went into enough detail I just got so over whelmed with the form sorry for the long post has anyone else has this and been awarded

Please let me know what they say to you about it and how you word it 🤣 I'm such an awkward person on the phone I'd have no clue what to even say haha it is very long and not very well written to be understood either

The wait times are ridiculous
My 5 year old has autism... ive only sent a echp he gets constant 1 on 1 care
I'm so worried he may get declined as everything has been done through school (speech therapy. Behaviourist .. ) hes also still in nappies as he refuses to potty train it really scares him to the point he has a melt down
Just wish we didn't have to wait so long
