@Tmxx if it is 17.5 weeks like alot of others are saying, your 17 weeks today and I'm tomorrow so 17.5 takes us to friday/Saturday right? Xx

Sskanf · 07/11/2023 09:42

Mommaof2babas · 07/11/2023 09:43

hi
does anybody know how this process now works with UC I’ve told them of my child’s award and got a message saying they need to verify my children 🙄 surely they’ve been verified I’ve been on uc since March this year!

does anybody know how this process works? Am I likely to get back pay soon or is this going to be another drawn out process?

@Sockbabies we must of had the same message hun it’s rather strange isn’t it ?

It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been on UC, most people will get a message saying that the children need to be verified. It’s nothing to worry about. Just keep an eye on your journal as there’s a few steps before you receive the backpay

DanniiB1983 · 07/11/2023 09:47

Hi, is anyone here waiting for change of circumstances? My scan date 29/6

Well done to everyone who's been awarded 🤗

PinkMoscatoLover · 07/11/2023 09:47

Daryl54 · 07/11/2023 09:23

Hi everyone 😊 I was just wondering does any one know how long it takes for uc to pay backdated I’ve been putting messages on journal and no one getting back to me it’s been bout 5 weeks now xxx

Have you been putting messages under ‘Payments’ when writing in your journal? Have you had a message back to say it’s been escalated to DM/your child needs to be verified? Or have you literally not got anything at all?

Cheesywiggles · 07/11/2023 09:48

Asdmummyhere · 07/11/2023 09:38

@Cheesywiggles hope u manage to get through lovely. She told me it's taking 18 weeks to be passed to someone but mine already had although no decision yet. Made me a nervous wreck xx

@Asdmummyhere oh brilliant 🤞 for you , I hope they don't keep you waiting too much longer for a decision! I can imagine , I think it's worse when you know it's with a DM. I'll keep everything 🤞 for you! Thank you , I've finally made it into the holding que! No idea how long I'll be on hold for though lol xxx

PinkMoscatoLover · 07/11/2023 09:50

@mooneigh it’ll have to be done as a COC which is currently taking between 26-28 weeks. You may be better off waiting to the renewal date to submit anymore evidence that you have. I totally understand about wanting to claim carers allowance as that’d help out financially. Do whatever you think is best for you and your little one. Good luck

Pumpkins3 · 07/11/2023 09:54

12/07 here. Good luck to everyone calling 🙂 I haven’t rang since 15 weeks as she said it could be the end of the month before I hear back. Looks like they’re starting to get through the first week in July though so fingers crossed.

Jude82 · 07/11/2023 09:54

@Muva25 This is not the same but recently my husband asked UC for a carers element backdate to when I started receiving PIP and it took 3 days for DM to say no. I raised MR which took 2 weeks. I chased it by asking for update on day 13 and on day 14 a note was left with a letter saying they would not be backdating it and the late notification circumstances were considered but not satisfied and so we can only have it from the date he notified UC that he was a carer. I have now lodged an appeal with the tribunal as much like with DLA and carers element and child disability element there is a clear direct link between the qualifying benefit being awarded and the UC element being applicable and UC’s own guidance even says so. It makes zero sense that he can qualify for carers element now but yet he didn’t whilst we waited for PIP to make their award. Just like the scenario when awarded DLA. I’m prepared to fight for a backdate of the UC elements if my son is awarded DLA. I’d keep chasing it on the journal if I were you as they have to respond in a timely manner on there.

Asdmummyhere · 07/11/2023 09:55

@Cheesywiggles let me know, good luck 🤞 xxx

Mommaof2babas · 07/11/2023 09:57

@Pumpkins3 same scan date as me I'm currently on hold 51 minutes will update as soon I get a answer, if it is true about the 17.5 weeks to get the award we're 17 weeks tomorrow!x

Rebeccanew · 07/11/2023 09:59

@Cheesywiggles whata your scan date hun? Xxx
@Tmxx you ringing today also good luck xxxxxxx

sweetdevil90 · 07/11/2023 09:59

So good news they got my extra evidence 👍 all scanned I'm and matched up with the right claim.
Bad news she told me it's now a 19.5 week wait 😬 mine were scanned 28/7, due to go to decision maker 27/11, and could be up to 2 weeks after for an answer.
Strange how on the same day we're all told different timescales!

Daryl54 · 07/11/2023 10:00

@PinkMoscatoLover I done the changes the 5th october I spoke with someone around the 18th of October and they said it’s been passed on to a decision maker but haven’t heard anythink since I did put on my actual journal and then under as payments but not heard back at all. I’ve left a few messages too xxxx

Mommaof2babas · 07/11/2023 10:00

Thank you! Crossing everything for you 🤞🏻 Hope you’re not on hold much longer. I really hope we only have a few days left. The wait is painfully slow x

Okay got you, as long as it’s been passed onto a DM then that’s something. Keep on pestering them by leaving messages on your journal to ask for an update. There’s no timescale on how long UC take to get things in order but they shouldn’t leave you hanging for a month with no communication

Cheesywiggles · 07/11/2023 10:03
