@LGR004 I'm so happy for you!!! Work was crazy yesterday so I've just been looking to see if you were awarded!! Congratulations, I hope it helps so much, we got MRC too xxx

Sammy8919 · 04/11/2023 08:02

@4LittleFirecrackers yes with higher rate mobility you can get blue badge

Kelz23 · 03/11/2023 14:13

Do some case workers definitely work at weekends?

@Kelz23 I've been wondering this to. I've seen people say on FB that there is an overtime team but on the phone they make it sound like it's Monday to Friday only.

Kelz23 · 04/11/2023 08:21

@Cheesywiggles I know I don’t usually answer the phone either to unknown numbers have loads spam calls, so usually on weekend I wouldn’t answer at all. But being 3/7 maybe they will call 🤷‍♀️ x

4LittleFirecrackers · 04/11/2023 08:22

@PinkMoscatoLover @Sammy8919 thanks, one of the main reasons we applied so chuffed with that. Been stuck not been able to go out on family days due to distance of parking at theme parks etc before you even get to the entrance where the wheelchairs/scooters are so will be able to start looking forward to some good times

4LittleFirecrackers · 04/11/2023 08:23

When they called me it was this number: 0800 023 2635 (save it as DLA in your phone)

@Kelz23 i would probably if I was you yes , I think your more likely to hear something then me. I'm 6/7 but I think a lot of 3/7 and 4/7's are getting decisions in the last couple of days. 🤞 You hear something! I know what you mean though I hate answering numbers I don't recognise lol.

@4LittleFirecrackers aw bless you all! I’m so glad to hear you were awarded HRM, that’ll make a huge difference for your little one. Apply for a blue badge and make the most of it💐

Such a head fook the worse is waiting this long and could still get refused then doing mr and tribunal. I’m questioning myself should I even applied now. But I know is needs are more the average 12 year old. But he masks in school and soon as I pick him up he explodes he runs off and closer you get to him he darts or faster just missing the traffic. He as asd diagnosis, just been accepted cahms for mental health and self harm. And waiting for adhd assessment as well. This application as well his application for ehcp and youngest having Same issues had massive effect on my own mental health. My house is smashed by 2 boys they both physically and mentally abusive, I just want this whole process over and done with 😭

How do I know if I’d be entitled to the carers element of UC?
also has anyone applied for a blue badge, can I do that now we have HRM? Thank you

I applied for a blue badge and got one without a dla claim just waiting for my claim now x

Kelz23 · 04/11/2023 09:10

we got blue badge before we got answer from dla. Also we have been granted item from family fund xx

LGR004 · 04/11/2023 09:21

@MumofLou thank you sweet! It was definitely a relief getting out the way with ! ❤️❤️

I will say to anyone waiting for a DM I called every day from when it was allocated and I know not everyone has the time to call every day but in a way I’m glad I did because I was getting told to call next week Thursday but I got awarded yesterday and went to a DM on Monday so you can always give it a day or 2 inbetween calling but don’t always feel you have to call back when they tell you to, I’m some cases it might not be as quick with a DM but you don’t know unless you try! Good luck to everyone awaiting decisions this week coming && again thank you to everyone for the support and responses you’ve all been an immense help through this process ❤️❤️

Sockbabies · 04/11/2023 09:40

I second what @LGR004 said.

Considering when I rang at 9:15am yesterday I was told it wasn't with a decision maker and at 10:47am I got a text saying I'd been awarded.

Thismamalife · 04/11/2023 10:15

Has anyone heard back if your scan date was 5th July?

Jneill2021 · 04/11/2023 10:17

Just a little update there saying 24 weeks for a coc I'm already on 25 and the woman said roughly 10 more days the wait is horrendous xx

Thismamalife · 04/11/2023 10:21

Sorry to ask but is this an additional 24 weeks after being declined? So you waited the whole 16-18 weeks and then another 24 or do they carry on from the original DLA waiting weeks? Good luck with your outcome :)

Girlmum3110 · 04/11/2023 10:26

@Thismamalife
My daughter got declined a week and a half ago. The gentleman on the phone said it’s around 4-5 weeks for it to get looked at again once you either phone and tell them reasons or post in your MR.

Girlmum3110 · 04/11/2023 10:35

Just received the decline letter. If anyone gets declined please phone and get the specific reasons over the phone as the letter they send with reasons is very generic and doesn’t go into any detail at all.

Thismamalife · 04/11/2023 10:39

Can you not do a MR without the letter coming through the post first? Or can you do it as soon as you find out you’ve been declined? Can you find out you’ve been declined over the phone? Sorry to ask. I’m waiting still for decision for my little one but not sure what the next step is if declined.

You can find out you’ve been declined over the phone. If you call for an update on the claim and a decision has been reached, they’d let you know if it’s been declined or not.

I’m pretty sure you can ask for the reasons why over the phone and you can ask the agent to write down the reasons why you disagree. I personally think it’s best to say that you’d like to do a MR and can they send out a letter stating why which is specific to your claim.

That way you can take some time and go back to them point for point as to why you disagree. You can send in new evidence or you can cross reference part of the evidence that you’ve sent in that clearly disagrees with the points made

Sockbabies · 04/11/2023 10:57

@Thismamalife I was awarded yesterday and my scan date was 5/7 xx

Thismamalife · 04/11/2023 11:11

Oh really?! Wow! Did they text? Call you? Or letter? I rang up a few days ago and they said it wasn’t even with a decision maker yet and it’s taking 17 and half weeks to go to one. I check my phone every day but as each day passes less hope.

Sammy8919 · 04/11/2023 11:30

@Thismamalife i am 5/7 and was told this week should of to dm
