Does anyone know how I start a MR? I have the letter stating the reasons why and currently collecting evidence I need but do I need to call them and tell them I want an MR or do I just send everything in the prepaid envelope? TIA x

Do some case workers definitely work at weekends?

I asked for mr over the phone and told them my reasons I disagree with them they wrote it all down I put in for mr on 24th they told me it will take 6 weeks to go to another Dm good luck

@Mummyof5kiddos i think the length of award is adjusted depending on when they think the child could improve (obviously some children don’t depending on the reasons for applying) they then review and if it’s still needed they re award from what I gather x

The man who I spoke to said they don't but other been have said they do 🤷‍♀️

I received this text on phone now I am taking it it’s a decline as it doesn’t say what the decision is anyone else had this text and been awarded
A decision has been made on your child's Disability Living Allowance claim. You'll receive a letter in the next 10 days. You don't need to contact us before then.

My 3.5 year old is non verbal and currently under SALT and awaiting to be seen by a paediatricIan.

Hes currently quite ill high fever 40.3 and only treated for sepsis last month hence my concern. Took him to the drs with my partner explained he has high temp burning hot and not eaten in 2 days. Dr tried sticking a stick down his throat to which he started crying and pushed away naturally. Dr asked why is he crying so much I said because he so unwel. Asked for me to leave the room wity him and said to my partner she believes my sons not ill n has a mental problem and autism. Is a Dr allowed to do this I'm.fuming

@JIAmummy if it was me I would ring and see what they say, I would also start to get some evidence so I was prepared for the next step. If you don’t mind me asking what did you claim for? Have you had any more appointments?

My question is how can a Dr casually throw a comment like that and disregard my child's clearly.ill he's slept most yhe day unable to.stay awake due to.fever and I get told he has a mental problem

@Sskanf No they are not, autism doesn’t cause a fever for one. How is your child now? I hope they got the treatment they needed.

My son has juvenile idiopathic arthritis is waiting for ADHD and Autism assessment and is particularly blind. We have loads of appointments at least 4 a month. I sent his hospital discharge summaries and his referral letter from his class teacher

No they aren't and I'd be making a complaint. If lethargic and still unwell I'd be taking them to hospital xx

@JIAmummy ok so I don’t know much about the MR process however I saw that someone on the last post got declined and was advised to go on the guide dogs website I think? I hope that’s right without checking back I can’t be sure but they had lots of information about DLA and advice on the forms etc. with regard to the autism I’ve seen people get awarded with letters saying they are waiting for an assessment. I think I will get declined because my son was waiting for a diagnosis and has only just received one but I’m not sure.

@JIAmummy iv been following these threads for a while now I wouldn’t defo say you have been declined hun as not every text people has had says they qualify some does just say a decision has been made….but I’d defo give them a call hope your outcome is positive hun keep us updated ❤️ xxxxx
