Hi,
Been reading a quite a while, but first post!
My scan date is 12/07
Received second text 09/10
Phoned on Tuesday after hour 40 on hold was told its now a 19 week wait even though letter state 15 weeks! So said should be w/c 20th November.

Just wanted to ask about UC back date for disability part and carers element, on my forms I received it says my claim start date (if accepted is 10th june) so will uc be backdated to that date or will it be scan date (12/07) or is it award date (w/c 20/11) the that a decision is made? I've been reading other comments but a little confused by it?
Congratulations to all who have been awarded recently!

mum959 · 27/10/2023 13:20

Am on hold can’t take the not knowing over the weekend 🤞🤞 update it’s finally with the decision maker any day now

Hi everyone. I think I’m just after some advice if anyone can help. I’ve just been awarded for my daughter who has adhd & some signs of autism, she is in a Sen school… anyways my 3 year old just started nursery in September & when I picked him up today the teacher wanted to have a chat.. she asked me if it was ok to make a referral to camhs for him because he is showing the exact same symptoms as my daughter… is it too early to put a dla claim in for him too? He’s already on the waiting list for speech & language after his first assessment which was when he was about 20month… any advice would be greatly appreciated x

Lovely17 · 27/10/2023 13:41

Just to add, my daughter had the same teacher in nursery too! X

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 27/10/2023 13:44

@Mummyrach13 I defo couldn't wait. Seeing all these claims on our date being processed I'd wanna know 🤣 don't rely on the no news I still haven't recieved the text they said I would get for all you know yours is approved and just sitting there now 🤣 xxx

Treena023 · 27/10/2023 13:44

Your scan date and last text date are both the exact same as mine so guessing we are in the same pile 😂 please let me no if you hear anything and good luck 🤞 xx

Beca89 · 27/10/2023 13:48

Hello Mummies. I've been following for months, writing a few posts on earlier threads. Just to update you all. Scan date 26/6. Rang this morning after 1 hour wait to be told my son was awarded yesterday hrc hrm till 2028 xx

Tmxx · 27/10/2023 13:53

I'm on Facebook page and someone just asked about who's been awards from July yet and everyone is saying early July dates and saying heard nothing then a random 13th July has been awarded yesterday! It's the random really further ones getting done that confuse me! Xx

Doymum · 27/10/2023 14:05

13th of July that’s very random, I’m really holding back calling. I think I will wait and see what happens next week if I start to see more july dates awarded

Keddie · 27/10/2023 14:07

I am the 12th of July and called today. I don't think i actually believe them tbh.

Hey, I’m the 10/7 I had second text on the 2/10 have you had a second text? I’m going to try my best to wait another week before I call them.

allofthelove · 27/10/2023 14:10

Have been awarded today , 18 weeks one day . MRC . So happy .

Scan date 22 June
2 texts

Keddie · 27/10/2023 14:11

@Tmxx Took an hour to get through, advised they are still working on June dates. Wont go to a DM until at least 18 weeks then a decision would be made. She was really kind and informative. I struggle to believe a date that late in July is accurate at this point x

Keddie · 27/10/2023 14:12

@Doymum Hi, I had my 2nd text on the 9th of October, they have advised mid to end of November before a decision x

Oh I see what your saying! I thought you was saying you didn't believe them as you had been awarded 🤣 but I get what your saying but surely they haven't a reason to lie to strangers about being awarded xx

Keddie · 27/10/2023 14:15

@Tmxx I have no idea why they would lie? It just does not seem realistic based on all the scan dates getting awarded on here this week. All appear to be end of June. Hopefully next week we start to hear of more July awards! Fingers crossed x

Doymum · 27/10/2023 14:16

We’re all around the same time so let’s see what happens, your right fingers crossed

Mrsstephens04 · 27/10/2023 14:17

PinkMoscatoLover · 27/10/2023 12:36

@Mumto2sengirlsxx nope you won’t need to do anything. It’s just standard procedure, you’ll be fine.

@Mrsstephens04 oh no don’t worry it’s not like UC where it’ll have to be a joint claim. It only takes the individual carers circumstance into consideration

Thank you so much, i presume i have to wait until I have a decision to be able to apply for it? I only ask because I thought I needed I diagnoses for DLA but after finding out I couldn't apply before a formal diagnosis I sent off my forms they received the 26/07 ... do you know of carers allowance is similar or I need proof of DLA before applying, I've looked on the site but it doesn't really explain

I hope so! I swear you hit that 15th week and times then slows right down! I was 15 weeks on Tuesday and I feel like that was forever ago 🤣 xx

Keddie · 27/10/2023 14:22

Thats why i had to call today. I have not called in before and it was so nerve wrecking its put me off doing it again lol! I asked if they could text me with a decision?? She said some can some cant depends who your DM is and if they have access. I am waiting until after the 13th or when I see one of you have updated xx

Can anyone help with sending birth certificate? They've requested it, and sent an envelope to send it in. But the return envelope has no address and just has a clear window to see the address on the letter (which I need to send back with the certificate)... but the letter has MY address on it. It does have the return address but it's not in a place I can make visible through the envelope window. Feel like I am going mad 😂 Am I missing something here?

It’s awkward but you fold it in a way that the address shows through the little window. I had to fold the piece of paper so awkwardly so that it didn’t slip down!

You can write the address on another piece of paper but just make sure you send the birth certificate in the brown envelope. I think they do that so it stands out in the pile of all the additional evidence to avoid it sitting there for too long

PinkMoscatoLover · 27/10/2023 14:29

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 27/10/2023 12:42

@PinkMoscatoLover ah right okay they told me to write a message on journal next week to check progress... are they just verifying on the system that she is receiving dla? Think it's funny that now they want to verify my children though 🤣 xx

I’m not actually sure what UC mean when they say they’re verifying the children! When my DS started receiving DLA, they said they have to verify both children. Came back and everything was okay. I’m guessing it’s some sort of internal checks. Couldn’t tell you what though, sorry!

If you haven’t heard from them then chase it up via the journal like they suggested. It didn’t take too long in my case at all

Treena023 · 27/10/2023 13:00

You can claim carers allowance as long as you work less than 16 hours a week your husbands income doesn’t come into it as your the carer not him xx

You don’t get it automatically if you work less than 16 hours a week as it’s based on your weekly income. I work 12 hours a week but earn over £139 a week so I couldn’t get it even if I wanted too. You have to earn less than £139 a week to be eligible for carers allowance
