@Mummyrach13 congratulations on your award , x

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 01/11/2023 13:33

@Mummyrach13 yayyyyy 🥳 I knew it! I told you not to stress so much! Your child got what they deserved im so happy for you!!! The wait is finally over! And you can finally sleep 💓 congrats hunny xx

I recieved such a weird letter today making me my child's appointee etc from dla but I never recieved that when my eldest was accepted. Wonder whether its because my youngest got accepted for HRC...

For anyone wondering about critiea of HRC it will state on your award letter why they was awarded that rate.
So in my circumstances it states my daughter was awarded HRC because of her constant need for care during the night because of her bladder incontinence, she is 6 years old and is fully toilet trained but for some reason can't hold her bladder and she doesn't recieve signals she needs a wee until its too late, so wees the bed, wees herself running to toilet etc they don't know if it's part of her ADHD or whether her hypermobility has affected her bladder strength, she also sleep walks and wees everywhere but I didn't actually put that in the form.

@LGR004 got my fingers crossed for you! My legs where shaking like mad whilst I waited on hold and was on there ages.

@Mumto2sengirlsxx Thank you so much for everything the last few weeks you’ve been a massive help and support to me. Xx

@jlgsy94 i had a call yesterday and they said they’re sending it to the medical team for advice. Do you mind me asking how long before you got your reward text? I can’t bear the wait any longer x

MumofLou · 01/11/2023 13:49

@ARH36 I'm so sorry to hear that you had a decline can you maybe keep a care diary over the next few days which you can include in your appeal? It's difficult for us to distinguish between normal and additional needs when we do things everyday isn't it. Sending you lots of love xx

Billie1993 · 01/11/2023 13:49

@4LittleFirecrackers As far as I know it was sent to medical advice on Monday by DM, and they must've made a decision late yesterday as when I called around 3pm yesterday no decision had been made at that time. I never got any texts, I just incessantly pestered over the past week and I don't feel bad in the slightest! It's been an extremely long 6 months!

Mummyrach13 · 01/11/2023 14:14

Thank you @Billie1993 😘

Ladies have I done the UC part correct, I have updated a change added the element and caring for someone. I have wrote a message saying can they both be backdated due to only just receiving our decision.
I have had a message to ask why I would like the carers element backdated? Surely it’s for the reason that I put about only just finding out our award. X

LGR004 · 01/11/2023 14:16

That rude little … anywho .. the lady I had was RUDE .. after 1 hour 40 mins on hold there still is no update 🤗 so it will be Friday when I call again now lol .. thanks for all the support everyone ❤️

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 01/11/2023 14:19

@Mummyrach13 tell them you would like the carers element backdated to your dla start claim as you've been giving your child extra care and been unable to work and struggled to attend appointments etc due to caring for your child but you couldn't apply for the element until your child was accepted for dla. Think they have to ask for a reason due to the dm xx

PinkMoscatoLover · 01/11/2023 14:19

@Mummyrach13 congratulations on the award OP! UC aren’t a fan of backdating people for some bizzare reason. Yep your reasoning is definitely correct. Just repeat that you’d like the elements backdated due to only finding out about the award.

Some of the work coaches do send out incorrect information so if they say they can’t backdate the amount, just put a message on your journal and put it under ‘payments.’ That way it goes straight to the DM

PinkMoscatoLover · 01/11/2023 14:20

Oops X posted😆

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 01/11/2023 14:20

@Mummyrach13 me and my partner do it weird, so he recieves carers element for me on uc bur he also claims carers allowance for me, so it gets deducted out of our uc but we don't actually lose any more doing that. The reason we do it like that is because carers element on uc only pay class C national insurance I believe whereas carers allowance pays class A national insurance xx

Mummyrach13 · 01/11/2023 14:25

Thank you ladies. I just replied again saying what I said that I’ve only just been able to request the backdate as I have been caring for my son for all this time but had to wait for the official decision. X

Mummyrach13 · 01/11/2023 14:27

Do you think they’re maybe a chance they will cancel my commitments review appt tomorrow afternoon if they see it in time. I will probably still have to attend this one as don’t think the element will be verified in time. X

Congrats to all being awarded today ❤️ so sorry to those who have had declines. It's such an awful wait. I still have a good month I reckon till any news.

Shall89 · 01/11/2023 14:37

Hello, long time lurker. Scan date 29/06 and still waiting. Called yesterday and it went to DM on Monday. Waits driving me insane now! Referred for 6 year old daughter on asd pathway for suspected autism and adhd. Worried not sent enough evidence (sent school referral forms, school doctor assessment, sleep consultant letters and copies of her sleep medication). Waiting to hear back from this one before trying to complete one for my son (who is currently worse than my daughter but have NO evidence for him at all and the wait lists are even longer now!)

PinkMoscatoLover · 01/11/2023 14:43

Still expect to go to the appointment tomorrow OP unless they stare otherwise. But if they try and book you in for any others, I’d push back and say that you’re a carer. You’re just waiting for it to be verified on your claim

4LittleFirecrackers · 01/11/2023 14:43

@jlgsy94 thanks, I may ring again tomorrow then, I suppose it depends on what advice they need if they’re not fully aware of how a condition can affect someone it may take them a while. I need to stop feeling so anxious, there’s nothing I can do right now with no information but I’m desperate to get some private therapies arranged and I can’t afford it x
