@ARH36 so sorry to hear that 😭

Hannahlou94xx · 01/11/2023 12:23

The wait is finally over. Just had a phone call asking a few questions about my sons claim. He's been awarded HRC and LRM !!!

Kyarcy1316 · 01/11/2023 12:25

@Muva25 you would hope they do see that they clearly need more care then, even more so because you live it everyday! I have everything crossed for you! My son is 10 and has asd his school have said emotionally and socially he is at the level of a 7 year old, academically he works at the level of a 13 year old, at home we struggle so much with him and meltdowns and sleeping etc

Rebeccanew · 01/11/2023 12:26

omg @ARH36 I was really rooting for you…could I ask if you don’t mind why you applied also if you sent lots evidence? You know take this to MR!! Don’t give up! Truely feel disheartened for you! Xxx apeal soon as you get your forms xx

@Hannahlou94xx could I ask your scan date?

jlgsy94 · 01/11/2023 12:20

Thank you!

Okay thank you for clarifying. I'm not entirely sure why she wasn't given HRC but I'm happy with the award regardless and who knows, it may change in the future.

I was holding out hope for HRM due to her conditions (Spina bifida and others) but the threshold to get it seems so ridiculously high! I got worried when I was told a few days ago it was sent off for medical advice!

What is VUW?

I looked into this. The Difference between MRC and HRC is night time needs, so the answers to the questions on the form and the evidence need to 'fit' that iyswim. I think it's something like needing a niminum of 20 mins care at least two or three times per night (that's considered to be after the rest of the household has gone to bed)

Mummyrach13 · 01/11/2023 12:30

OMG got through after 1 hour 40 mins.

Scan date 26/6 awarded yesterday HRC & LRM. I am shaking beyond belief and relived for my boy that someone has acknowledged his needs.

So sorry to the ladies with declines today absolutely fight it all the way and Good luck to you ladies still waiting this journey has been awful. I will be watching and routing for you all ❤️ x

What is VUW?

You can only get HRM under two rules.

VUW = Virtually Unable to Walk
SMI = Severe Mental Impairment. You can only get SMI if your child receives HRC so you would have got it under VUW.

It’s great that DD received HRM as that will be such a huge help if you ever wanted a mobility car (even if you didn’t it’d still be a massive help!) definitely keep any documents from now up until renewal that you think will strengthen an award for HRC🤞Especially anything that’s related to your DD’s overnight care

PinkMoscatoLover · 01/11/2023 12:32

MRC also includes overnight needs, just not as much as HRC includes. On renewal, if you send in a sleep diary of maybe a week or two then that would be some evidence of overnight care (along with anything from professionals ofc) @jlgsy94

Sarahdestiny · 01/11/2023 12:35

Rang dla regarding a renewel
And a new claim i sent in and waiting times are massive said i wont here back until febuary as waiting times are 19 plus weeks for new claim and wont make a desicion on a renewel until the week its due to stop #long wait ahead 🙄✌️

Rebeccanew · 01/11/2023 12:37

Well done all being awarded ❤️

ARH36 · 01/11/2023 12:38

@Rebeccanew thank you for your support it means a lot! My son is on the ASD pathway, we have no diagnosis as of yet everything is just so lengthy. I don’t have much evidence I don’t really know what to send. I sent a copy of his referral and his EHA and EYFS record. I don’t really have anything else to send in.

Rebeccanew · 01/11/2023 12:43

I honestly think it depends who the pile goes to me @ARH36 because if I’m honest iv seen people send less than you and been awarded it…I definitely think that should be more than enough! Ring up ask for a full detail why it was declined and then do a mr with bulletpoints how they was wrong etc! Xxxxxxxx

ARH36 · 01/11/2023 12:47

I will do, the bloke on the phone was really nice and said he was sending me a copy out first class, hopefully it will come by the end of the week. Would it be worth sending in a sleep diary as well? Can we send extra evidence during an MR? Xxxxxx

Kelz23 · 01/11/2023 12:51

My friend called they said taking 18.5 weeks to go to decision maker then maybe week or 2 for decision. So stressful not knowing

Lollypops88 · 01/11/2023 12:55

@ARH36 defo send a sleep diary if u can get any one from nursery/school to write a letter on what ur childs like in the setting ehcp/icp any other specialists hes under letters appointment letters, my daughter is on the asd pathway to and not much evidence
If your child has no understanding of danger/inside outside get that in there food adversions, saftey equipment in the home i have child gates, my little she has reins, if they need ear defenders for sensory overload
What they are like with meltdowns in pubic
Im just telling u what i wrote hope that helps
I havent been awarded yet but they said what i sent was enough !!!!
So sorry u had a decline fingers x they reverse it as soon as u send extra xxx

Muva25 · 01/11/2023 12:58

@Kyarcy1316 ahhh bless hopefully soon we will get some answers rooting for you and your little one xx

ARH36 · 01/11/2023 12:59
