@Mummyrach13 I know exactly what you mean! Just want a decision already, so I know if need to do a MR or not x

Charlotte19xxx · 28/10/2023 20:15

Oh okay I get you, well the 5th my payment is due.. but the statement goes on 1st. So I don’t know if I’ve got it in time for this month tbh x

Depends when you did the COC and when they’ve verified it. Keep an eye out, you never know!

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 29/10/2023 00:45

Hi lors3 did you say you had award from July? Which area you in? Aww I hope this is July being quicker xxxx

MrsZzz · 29/10/2023 10:07

Hi all - can I join in?
Scan date 6/7, texts 12/9 and 2/10

I’d managed to put it out of my mind over the summer but after paying out for a series of things DS couldn’t attend (diagnosed ASD, suspected PDA) I’m really feeling the extra costs and worrying about whether we’ll get anything awarded.

Mumofthree003 · 29/10/2023 10:44

I’m the same scan date as you. There’s been a few early July dates being awarded, so hopefully we will get an answer this week🤞

Lollypops88 · 29/10/2023 10:50

I have seen quite a few early July's getting answers in the last few days, so fingers crossed we will hear something in the next week or 2 🤞

Caitlyn59 · 29/10/2023 11:28

I think in regards to the texts it’s just random & if a DM has that facility. I never got a text, just phoned up & found out that way. Only text i got from the DWP was the cost of living one…which of course last week I thought was about DLA 😂🙄

4LittleFirecrackers · 29/10/2023 12:32

@Mummyrach13 @LGR004 im calling tomorrow. Sent extra evidence on Friday, scan date 30/6 hoping it’s not too late. I’ll update if it’s gone to DM or not x

LGR004 · 29/10/2023 12:37

@4LittleFirecrackers yeah please let me know what they say because I’ve got 2 pieces of evidence to send off as well! But if yours is with DM then mine will most likely be with DM as well.. I mean what if they’ve made a decision over the weekend but haven’t contacted yet?! Idk it’s so nerve racking .. if it’s with a DM I’ll probably just have to not send it because last week lady said it was in pile waiting to go to DM so idk I’m debating calling ?! I think I only called on Thursday?! What do you think I should do! X

CGW1209 · 29/10/2023 13:10

Hi all

Been following the various DLA threads for a few weeks but never posted before. I hope this is ok. Am looking for some advice and think some of you might be in the know.

Applied for DC DLA in April this year. Application was a bit delayed as DC's treatment changed after an additional diagnosis in December and needed an updated statement from paediatrician. We were advised by CNS, Great Ormond Street specialist team and HV that we'd likely get full awarded due to severity DC's condition.

Received the acknowledgment letter then several 'don't call us, we'll call you texts' in April/May.

DC died in July - unexpected but related to their disability. A week after DC passed we got a letter from DWP saying 'sorry DC has died but you can continue application if you send death certificate for backdated payment to date of death'.

Both DH and I are self-employed and took a huge financial hit over the last year due to continuous hospital stays etc. So we decided to continue and see what happened.

DWP sent back death certificate end of July and since then ... nothing.

TBH I'm prepared to just let the whole thing go, I feel utterly broken by the whole situation and just want to move on but DH thinks it's worth pursuing. I called once in September but was cut off and couldn't face it again.

Do you think there is any point in chasing? Or the fact we've had no communication is a sign it's been rejected? I can't find any precedent for this and don't know what to do.

TIA for any advice.

Rebeccanew · 29/10/2023 13:19

I’m gonna call first thing 9am seem to get through quick probleys be sick of me ringing now 😂😂 but I’m over the mark and I suppose it’s the job lol x

Mummy1614116 · 29/10/2023 13:24

@LGR004 26/06 ✋ rang Friday was awarded 26.10 wouldnt of known If I didn't call though so glad I did almost 2 hrs on hold I was ready to go another weekend worrying !

Clazamumof2girls · 29/10/2023 13:29

@LGR004 End of June lady here!! 29/06… feel like this weekends been the longest so far! I sent extra evidence Thurs as recently got a diagnosis of VPD and APD so sent report off which supports additional care needs in and out of school. Was going to call Tues if not heard anything before to make sure they’ve scan it… excuse for ringing really! Rang last Thurs and got told still 18.5 weeks but he took down all the details of what I was posting incase it gets to a DM before they receive it. Really nervous now though keep thinking and reading others needs being declined and worry I haven’t provided enough. No it’s probably just me overthinking. But this is certainly such an anxious wait 🥴😵‍💫 just hoping it’s our week this week… trying to keep positive xx

PinkMoscatoLover · 29/10/2023 13:31

@CGW1209 I am so, so sorry to hear your little one passed away, how awful for you and DH. I hope you’ve been taking things day by day and looking after yourself as best as possible💐

If you sent the death certificate when they asked for it and haven’t heard anything back at all then it’s definitely worth giving them a call and asking them what’s happening. Just explain the situation and say that you haven’t heard back since you sent the death certificate, can you please get an update. It’s always best to call 9am on the dot if you can as you won’t be on hold for too long.

Hopefully you get some answers but it’s completely understandable if you don’t want to chase it up x

MumofLou · 29/10/2023 13:34

@LGR004 I'm here! Scan date 29/6 I did call on Friday and was told our forms were in a holding pile but that it would be too late to send further evidence as a decision is 'immenent' I've tried to enjoy not worrying about it this weekend but already dreading tomorrow. It's 5 weeks since my last text tomorrow so we will see if there is any truth at all in that one! 😆 xx

Clazamumof2girls · 29/10/2023 13:34

@CGW1209 so sorry to hear this.. can’t imagine what you’ve been going through! 💓 I would absolutely push it though especially if they’ve said can still go through the application, even if you just get the back dated amount through at least. The phone lines are notorious for cutting off so try not to let that factor hold you back. Best times to call are first thing 9am as people tend to get through alot quicker otherwise it is about an hr and half wait. You and your family absolutely deserve something, which should’ve been accessed alot sooner in my opinion which just shows how this system is so screwed up! Keep fighting hun and keep strong. Sounds like you’ve been through hell and back sending lots of positive thoughts your way xxx
