Congrats to all those being awarded! I'm the 8th of June. I called yesterday and told me with d.m and that they would text me but I haven't heard anything yet.

MaddyM8 · 10/10/2023 18:03

Hey everyone, been lurking for few weeks.

The wait is agonising so been keeping up to date with your posts even though my scan date for my daughter for new claim (she is 11) is 20/07 so I know I have a wait ahead still from going off your scan dates and how much extra you've all been waiting. Fingers crossed for you all.

You'd think they would have a better system to keep people updated at least or even so if they're sending texts say "we know we said 15 weeks but it's look more like 18/20" ...silly really.

Georgia1721 · 10/10/2023 18:12

@Luevzamum i hope so. I phoned last week and he said 18 weeks 🤷🏼‍♀️

Mummyrach13 · 10/10/2023 18:27

When I phoned on Monday they said all claims won’t go to a DM until 18.5 weeks now. Although have seen others awarded mid June but guessing it’s who’s working at a faster pace.

I don’t know what that funding is, but at our last meeting they said they were applying for some funding that will help with some more 1:1 now that he’s 3 and on the sen register? X

Yes its graduated support pathway funding may have different names in different boroughs Yes its the funding they can apply for and then when they get an EHCP that finding will stop and the funding will come through the EHCP :) my daughter is 3 also x

Ah fab thank you, they are also getting private SLT for him so fingers crossed that starts soon xx

Asdmummyhere · 10/10/2023 19:29

Anybody called from July? 6/7 here and don't see any point in calling just yet as only almost 14 weeks. I have UC on my back for work but it's physically impossible taking care of my son 24/7 so hoping for good news soon to apply for CA. I have no support network and DS only attends nursery 8 hours during the week as he can't cope with long hours

BabaganooToo · 10/10/2023 13:29

@PinkMoscatoLover thank you - I've only just sent his application a few weeks ago so don't have a reference number yet. Hoping I get one soon.

Ah got you. In that case then yeah just do full name and dob. That’s fine:)

Raych1989 · 10/10/2023 20:04

I'm July 4th and rang today. They said looking at 18/19 weeks before it goes to a decision maker so I'm guessing week commencing 13th Nov we may find out but who knows. Some people from mid June have already had a decision whereas some people on first week of June only just finding out so I've no idea. I'm going to ring again first week of November and see where we are at. So frustrating 😫

Mummyrach13 · 10/10/2023 20:19

I think the majority of claims first week of June are being done but the odd few others as just seen a 23/6 date awarded.

Sskanf · 10/10/2023 20:39

My scan dates 12/07 I phoned and updated my phone number last week. I was told I should hear back mid December! Hope not as the waits so long. My 3 year old also can't handle long hours do I had an agreement with the SENCO to do 5 mornings instead so he gets a chance to mix in at school. He's completely closed off and will not interact with anyone at school currently
Tell UC your child has extra needs and your the main carer I had to keep telling them the same till they backed off

Luevzamum · 10/10/2023 20:40

@Mummyrach13 oooo that’s good to hear so all claims as in new, renewals and coc I’m guessing?? Hopefully shouldn’t be too much longer then xx I’ve not rang once yet Because there’s been lady on here waiting for 26 weeks and more so I might give them a call tomorrow x 😊

That’s for new Claims. Coc are taking longer and renewals are being done just before they renew. Just going by what I’ve read from others x

Mastersstudent83 · 10/10/2023 20:44

@Goodthingswillcome Congratulations on your MR application being approved. Could you please tell me what you included when you made the request? We are putting together the application for MR this week.

Mrsstephens04 · 10/10/2023 20:51

Also just tagging along here to see how everyone's getting on, I still have a pretty long wait as our scan date was 26/07 I rangthem 2wks go to explain they had spelled my sons name wrong and to give then the correct spelling and they told me its a 17wk wait which would take me to 22nd Nov-ish hoping and praying my boy gets awarded I have 5 children all together and 3 step children but my 4th child has autism and its really quite a struggle to deal with I've never really understood autism (sorry if this makes me sound awful or ignorant but I've never needed to understand it really until the last year and a half and it's a very big learning curve but we are all getting there slowly and putting lots in place to help him with he's extra needs) he's non verbal and gets very frustrated when we don't lays understand what he wants it's so sad and frustrating for everyone but everyone involved have been absolutely amazing with ideas/suggestions and advice which has been much appreciated I'd just like to give him a full sensory bedroom he loves spending time in he's room climbing and crashing things we'd just like to make it abit better for him (sorry for all thr extra rant, you guys seem to all talk really well with each other and I don't feel I can talk to may people I know about this)

I think I'll call next Friday so 15+1 and see what they say then. I've had 2 texts and only 1 letter for scan date. Have you had anything? The wait is awful isn't it. I came over from the Facebook group and saw someone had been awarded mid July. Must of been one of the lucky ones. I've also not seen anyone mention may for a while so fingers crossed they've all been given their decisions. Someone said to me not too long ago, how awful is it that someone who has never met your child gets to decide if your child has a disability and decide if they need the extra money to support their needs and that really stuck with me. I have lots of people involved with my boy but it's taking so long for appointments etc. I'm hoping another few weeks and I'll get an answer but who knows

I have told UC over and over again. They've even seen my son but don't want to listen. His draft ehcp is almost done so I'm awaiting that and will send off as soon as I get it. December really? I honestly think they tell people different things to stop people from calling. Surely everyone who be told the same if not. Fingers crossed for everyone and we can all keep each other updated here

Raych1989 · 10/10/2023 21:13

@Asdmummyhere It's so hard. I've already been through all this for my son who is younger but this new claim is for my daughter (14). It definitely wasn't this long for my son. They both gave a chromosome deletion amd both awaiting assesment for ASD. I feel as through everything for children with additional needs/disabilities is a battle and its exhausting. I have had 2 letters and 2 texts the last text was 2nd October. I'm really hoping we hear by beginning of November. Its so stressful and exhausting waiting. Good luck and I'll keep you updated if I have any contact from them 😊

Mummyof5kiddos · 10/10/2023 21:32

Hi, I’m new here 😊 I was just wondering if there is others that have applied for dla without being diagnosed? I have sent the cahms referral letter with my claim which shows a lot of what he is like but the waiting list for cahms is 3 years 😵‍💫 speech therapy he’s been on the waiting list for 2 years and sleep paediatric his appointment has just come through for a years time, I feel he needs the help now not in years to come

I have 4 children, my youngest who I have applied for has asd and gdd. Non verbal. He is 3 and his development is between 4-12 months in different areas. I have 2 stepsons who are still very active in my life thankfully but this is also the first time I've ever had to research and learn about anything because I didn't need to before. There is lots of websites etc out there with information if you need it. I've felt terrible many of times not understanding what my son wants or needs etc. I don't know how this site works but you are more than welcome to message me if you can. Everyone is lovely on here so far I've seen x

Edited

My last text was the 2nd oct too. If the rumours are true it's usually 5 weeks after the second text but we will see. The forms are so difficult to fill in and long winded. If only we could send video evidence or even have someone to come and see them for just an hour. I'll be keeping my eye on the thread. Lb has been up for 16 hours now, has nursery in the morning and currently full
Of beans bouncing on his trampoline lol long night ahead

Mummyof5kiddos · 10/10/2023 21:42

I am totally there with you, I feel im having to teach myself on how to look after my 7 year old with expected adhd, tics, asd, anxiety, it’s really hard sometimes, the internet helps but face to face support would be good for parents too
