Just found out my little on has been awarded HRC for 2 years. Our scan date was 14th June 😊our back pay payment has been released and should be in my account soon. I was so stressed we weren't going to get it so the finding thos out is amazing.

Congratulations for you and your girl. Sounds so similar to my boy who is almost 13. I too feel we will be declined. X

I was fortunate in that I have support from one of financial support social workers at Great Ormond Street who chased it up for me. So she just emailed me and updated me 😊

I called this afternoon and got through after 1 hour and 20 mins…scan date 08/06 and we were awarded on Monday MRC and LRM. I’m shocked and so pleased, what a difference this will make!
I thought I’d update tax credits online straight away as I still haven’t been changed over to UC…there was nowhere to put a date, you could only change child details to say they receive a disability benefit. I’m not sure if I’ve done it right so I might call them tomorrow.

I’m so nervous now 12/6 here and heard nothing yet , does everyone get a text to confirm or just some people ? X

The texts are very rare. Only a few receive one, so if you know your claim is with DM it’s better to call for an update after a few dates. Some even receive back pay before knowing they were awarded.

Just some people, others wake up to a payment in their bank. Good luck, have you rang for an update? X

Has anyone had them speak to a school how long after to get a decision?

How does everyone know when their forms are with a decision maker or been assigned to a case worker ect? Do they contact you to let you know this or did you guys ring up and ask? My scan date was 26/07 so only 11wks today letter said 15wks wait but I called to change a spelling mistake on he's name and they told me a 17wk wait this was around 2wks ago, I'm assuming that mean 17wks in total and not 17wks from 2 weeks ago when i changed thr spelling of the name... I was planning on calling when it's been 16wks or is it just worth holding out and waiting (and trying to forget these forms are constantly running through my head and I feel like a crazy lady it's the only thing on my mind at the minute) I've seen people are mainly getting backpack on a Tues or weds before even recieving the award letter so I check my bank every hour on the hour both days 🤣

It seems to be between 17 and 18 weeks most people are being awarded and most people wake up in the morning with a pending amount on their bank for the following day.
I am 17 weeks today (14th June) and calling tomorrow so will update the thread x

Could someone please confirm if I'm right in thinking I just send supporting evidence to "Freepost DWP DLA Child" ...? Doesn't seem like an address to me!

@MMrsstephens04 you're a day after me. My scan date is 25/7. I've had two letters and one text so far. I think most people are phoning to find out if it's with a decision maker or not. It's such a long wait ain't it. I phoned up around 6 weeks ago and was told 18w wait. I'll maybe give them a ring when I'm at the 17w mark.

im thinking of calling tomorrow or waiting until friday to see if any payment comes in

I tried to go to the post office with that address and they said they can’t send it to that address as there’s no postcode, I called dla child and they said the address hasn’t been updated on the form and told me a different address to send it to
