Congratulations!

Marikel · 17/04/2023 14:58

@Lodol thankyou hopefully yours will be sorted this week. I rang Fri and it was still with dm but the gentleman said today it was done on Fri so it was only with the dm for 4 days x

BlackBarbies · 17/04/2023 15:09

My scan date was 4 weeks ago. Maybe I should hide this thread and come back to it closer to the time😅 I really do have a longggg way to go!

Good luck to everyone who’s phoning up this week🤞

Toomanyplates23 · 17/04/2023 17:30

Just had a text to say that my son qualifies, after having one earlier that said they are still looking at the claim. I can't believe it. The money will help him so much! Don't know the rates or anything, yet. So, the decision took 12 weeks, 3 days. I hope you all get some good news soon x

megan345 · 17/04/2023 17:40

@Toomanyplates23 congratulations! give them a call tomorrow they'll tell you the rates! hoping i get a text😂x

Toomanyplates23 · 17/04/2023 17:45

Thank you. I will try and call in my lunch break. Really hope you get a good news text too x

MrsB113 · 17/04/2023 17:50

hi everyone im still abit confused with the back payments,
it looks like carers allowence gets back dated when i requested the child disability element on UC to be backed, does anyone know if both get back dated or both x

Dana81 · 17/04/2023 21:02

Hello , I have good news. I called today and my son was awarded last thursday . Scan date was 19/12 .
Good luck to everyone

Anskl · 17/04/2023 23:10

I'm a carer to both of my parents who have dementia plus my DD who currently receives DLA high-rate care. Her current award expires 25th April and I didn't get a chance to submit her renewal until 5th March because caring for my 3 family members took up every spare minute I had! The DLA still hasn't made a decision on my DD's renewal application and I'm worried that time is running out. I'm aware that some people who applied back in November still haven't received a decision and my daughter's care will suffer if we are without her DLA for any length of time.

Does anyone know whether renewal applications are assessed in the order they are received, how near the renewal date is, or other criteria? For example, my daughter has 4 serious disabilities - does this mean her claim will take longer to assess than a child who has 1 disability? Thanks.

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 18/04/2023 00:18

They’re doing renewals right up to the day Anskl.

Leigh3 · 18/04/2023 11:56

Scan date 21/01 just phoned as I wanted to update my notes, was told that it will go to a DM in a few weeks. Hopefully the wait isn’t that much longer and I should hear something by May

Alex900 · 18/04/2023 15:16

I rang this morning my scan date 27/1 was told by mid next week it should be with DM if I havnt heard anything ring back by the middle of first week in may

megan345 · 18/04/2023 15:17

just got off the phone, had a lovely lady answer our claim is now with decision maker! does anyone know roughly how long it takes? scan date 20/01 x

Lodol · 18/04/2023 15:59

Mines 19/01 rang today and no decision as of yet was advised although it goes to a DM it depends on where it is on their to do some action same day some is longer

mine went to DM last Thursday

Leigh3 · 18/04/2023 16:07

Oh wow! The guy I spoke with today was a little grumpy and asked me a lot more security questions then normal, fingers crossed I’ll try and phone end of the week for an update

megan345 · 18/04/2023 16:08

i think i'll wait for monday to call back if i've not heard anything, hoping i'm one of the lucky ones that get a text when a decision is made😂

Lodol · 18/04/2023 16:16

Lol it depends who you speak to some are super helpful and some must be on autopilot from the amount of calls they receive!

some people seem to be receiving text messages fingers crossed for everyone! :)

Leigh3 · 18/04/2023 16:31

I hope I’ll be 3rd time lucky because the first 2 I’ve spoke with haven’t been great and it doesn’t help that I’m an anxious speaker on the phone 🤣 they must know before they pick up.. good luck to everyone this week though 🤞🏾

megan345 · 18/04/2023 16:37

@Leigh3 the one that answered today was like mrs doubtfire, sounded like a sweet old lady but my last call wasn't great, the man was quite rude x

Leigh3 · 18/04/2023 17:02

I’m going to try and be a bit hopeful that mine goes to a dm this week if yours has gone to one today

clareykb · 18/04/2023 17:05

I had letter last week to say our scan date was 12th of March so even that took 4 weeks to send 😥

Alex900 · 18/04/2023 17:10

I had a conversation with a lady from CAMHS today she rang regarding the filtering process and chasing his school up and what not. I told her I had applied for DLA for my Son and she told me he would likely not get it without a diagnosis 🙈🙈🙈 I hope she is wrong.
