Anxietymumma I wouldn't be suprised if I was joining you with the 1% with my luck 🤣

L0ts · 21/03/2023 12:35

Got off the phone finally and he’s on high rate care, still in disbelief 😭

chuggins · 21/03/2023 12:44

Does anyone know if a child is accepted for DLa does the nursery (private as not yet compulsory school age) that they attend receive any extra funding? I know there's a question on the tax free childcare page when renewing asking if the child receives any disability payments but not sure if this is because the funding changes if they are accepted for a claim?

AnxietyMumma · 21/03/2023 13:39

Annnnd he's just been excluded again 😓

Supermom92 · 21/03/2023 14:33

Mines 23/12 also recieved a text

Boymom10 · 21/03/2023 15:23

On phone for over hour.. to be told it will not be done till the actual day it’s due to end which is next Tuesday. So she I will have a weeks Payment next Tuesday and then depending if he get renewed that’s it. And told me carers will also stop. Great stuff!!!!! I’m not going to lie that is a pretty shit situation to leave people in. I’m actually in tears. To make us wait to the date it ends and that’s it..

Snickerdoodles19 · 21/03/2023 15:40

@Boymom10 omg your joking that’s unbelievable they can’t seriously think it’s ok to do this to people!

Snickerdoodles19 · 21/03/2023 15:42

@Boymom10 what will you do about your carers allowance?

Boymom10 · 21/03/2023 15:51

@Snickerdoodles19 its Unbelievable.. I was in tears on the phone to her. She said they were doing today for people’s that run out either today or tomorrow. I’m not holding my breathe now for it to be renewed.it’s just crazy they have had it 18weeks. She said that she has had so many calls today for the same reason as people will have all there benefits stopped. She just said it’s just how they are doing now unfortunately. So they have issued a 1 week payment next Tuesday and then it will go from there but like I said I’m not holding my breath for it to be renewed again. I have sent off everything I could supporting letter which all say he is dependent for all care needs and I have been straight to the point repeatedly saying he needs constant help support and supervision in all care needs in every box and his sleep is very disruptive… but it all depends with the dm is a happy sole that day 😂😂 aww it’s out of my control.. but it’s just a shitty situation. Like for the last 12 years my son will wake up and his autism and learning disability has just gone away. Sorry everyone rant over

Boymom10 · 21/03/2023 15:52

@Snickerdoodles19 I don’t know.. I have never had to wait right to date before so I’m not sure how it works.

Snickerdoodles19 · 21/03/2023 15:57

@Boymom10 i know it’s hard but try and stay positive if you know you have provided everything that you can, it’s disgusting how they are handling renewals now! They should stop posting it out 5 months early then if that’s how they are doing it now. Can’t you ring carers allowance and asked what need to happen now or would you have to completely reapply again?

126t · 21/03/2023 16:13

I know this is not a dla question but my doctor as put my son on melatonin 7.5 ml in day and 10ml at night it seems a bit much to me but as anyone else gave their children melatonin in the day

Snickerdoodles19 · 21/03/2023 16:14

@126t how old are they?

126t · 21/03/2023 16:15

He is 4 years old

Boymom10 · 21/03/2023 16:17

@Snickerdoodles19 yes I’m going to ring them tomorrow and see what happens. I’m trying to stay positive but as know it’s hard in these situations. I said to the lady on the phone why send it so early I had mine 16th November and they had it back by 24th. It’s just crazy well I will says a little pray tonight and keeps my fingers crossed 🤞 that’s for lending an ear xx

Snickerdoodles19 · 21/03/2023 16:18

@126t that doesn’t sound right to me, I’ve never given it to my son in the day time, he’s on 6mg tablets at night also

Snickerdoodles19 · 21/03/2023 16:18

@Boymom10 its a horrible situation and you shouldn’t be having to deal with it but fingers crossed all will be good! X

126t · 21/03/2023 16:25

I thought that they shouldn't have it in day they said give it to him as he is getting more aggressive towards me and people plus he doesn't sleep even with the melatonin

Snickerdoodles19 · 21/03/2023 16:31

@126t so are they trying to make him more docile in the day to avoid aggressive outbursts? I’ve still
never heard of them doing that though

126t · 21/03/2023 17:01

They must be it's all going through my GP as the peds can't see him again he should of had a second peds appointment but got 12 mth back log and children assessment for asd can't see him until he as gone to speech and language assessment

My daughter was given melatonin for the night (not enough tbh) she needs a higher dose , never heard of it being given in the day time tbh

Dani006 · 21/03/2023 19:20

I've never heard of it being given in the day either.
My son has been on 4ml a night since he was 4 and half, he's 6 and half now and they will not up it. He sleeps like 2 and half hours - 4 hours (if I'm lucky) a night and is the size of a 9 year old. It's not enough for him and they won't budge.
I'm constantly tired and ill as he's always on the go, but he doesn't need the sleep! I don't know how he carries on but he does

ToughMum · 21/03/2023 19:39

Really happy for all you mum's that have had your confirmations. I am eagerly awaiting.. scan is 29th Decemeber.
I know someone asked this but yes the nursery do get extra funding for DLA and they can also apply for higher needs funding. My nursery is eagerly awaiting my sons decision too as I know they will apply for everything they can for him and more. And so they should but as long as they use as much of it on him as possible or at least for the improvement of children that need it.

Shellbel10 · 21/03/2023 19:56

Was the same here, only the paediatrician could prescribe it, gp couldn't and still won't touch the prescription or dosage as under paed x
