@Snickerdoodles19 I have no idea. Just the ot assessment recommends a paediatrician communication assessment.

Shellbel10 · 22/02/2023 09:26

Anyone with 22/11 scan date been accepted as of yet ?

Sarahjlk · 22/02/2023 10:08

hi just thought I’d jump on here, my Son was awarded HRC back in September 22 after a 15 week wait, as he turned 5 in Jan this year i was told I could apply for mob up to so many weeks before that so shortly after being awarded i had to fill a change of circumstance form for mobility (i had just missed out date wise for him to be considered in the first application) it was sent 31st Oct, i haven’t received a thing as yet, not even a letter to confirm they have it. Anyone else wait to hear about a COC.

Jackiesand · 22/02/2023 10:09

Hi going of track a bit but do anyone know once you have told tax credits your child has been awarded dla how long it takes for them to back pay you and how much back pay you get. Good luck to anyone waiting hope you get what your children deserve. X

Cody4 · 22/02/2023 10:11

lady said to me yesterday 1-10 days with dm 😊

Solshine · 22/02/2023 10:28

Hi everyone. First ever post on here.

My scan date was only 13/02/23 so I'm in for a long wait 🙈. Makes it easier reading everyone else's experiences though and what I should expect.

Leannepap · 22/02/2023 10:30

I’ve seen a few post of the Facebook groups people saying they’ve had a decline because they’re child is 15 soon to be 16. Scan date is 17/11 and my daughter is 16 in June Surely they can’t just decline because they’re taking so long to decide? Anyone been awarded for a 15 year old? I’m feeling deflated now that it will be a decline 😢 like I didn’t choose this to happen at 15.

KCC1988 · 22/02/2023 10:36

Aww thank you … she said to me that if DM requires more information they will contact me if not then they will go with a decision based on what they have. Not sure if that’s what they say to all or if they feel I haven’t sent enough in with the form. It is a horrible wait ..good luck everyone xx

VickieC86 · 22/02/2023 10:56

is it a text people get if awarded or refused I should have a decision this week what the lady said in the phone yesterday

They can still award you BUT you will need to apply for PIP pretty soon and go for an assessment, if you are awarded DLA then the payments will stop on their 16th birthday, so make sure you get your PIP claim in well in advance as its taking months for PIP on new claims xx

KCC1988 · 22/02/2023 10:58

@Leannepap that’s terrible ..and your right in saying they take so long with the forms .. shouldn’t matter the age ..if your child has struggles and you feel is entitled to the help. My son is 12 and his struggles have gotten a lot worse with puberty to the point he won’t leave the house. I hope it’s not too long a wait for you x what are the Facebook groups please? X

I would give them a call today, you might already have a decision. Lots of people after your date have been awarded. A few on facebook got awarded yesterday with the scan date the 18th november xx

87SPD · 22/02/2023 11:06

Hi there,

sorry for the long post but I’m so unsure of all this! Please may I ask what evidence you have sent in for ASD claims?

My scan date (first claim) was 28th November. Our DD12 recently diagnosed with ASD. I just sent the diagnosis report which had recommendations for the school and included a small section that was sent to the ASD assessor from the school. I then wrote a few extra pages providing detail of the care our DD requires.

At the time, she wasn’t attending school at all due to severe anxiety. The school at that time were not helpful in their support - since then, after a face to face meeting with the school they have acknowledged DD diagnosis and apologised for not providing more support sooner. They have written a pupil passport from SEN - I have sent this in as further evidence along with confirmation of referral to paediatric team for help with sleep and proof of acceptance to a CAMHS support worker to help with anxiety.

Do you think this is enough? I tried to detail in the original form about DDs care needs throughout the night (me and DH have to rotate sleep to make sure one is always awake as she has done some dangerous things so we need to supervise her) this was only my personal statement though and not from a medical professional.

Does anyone have any idea if an award is likely based on the evidence provided?

Getting nervous now! Good luck to you all x
