Thought it was time for a new thread :)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Mommax3 · 08/03/2023 14:15

0800 121 4600

This is the number in use in terms of asking for an update.

MommyToFive · 08/03/2023 14:18

No they never gave a reason, I was shocked as I get it for 3 of my other children and never had the phone call, so was a little confused. I gave as much evidence as possible x

Minnie83 · 08/03/2023 14:20

@Momofboys2821 don't give up, fight for what you believe your child is entitled too. I know it's draining but request MR.

Mommax3 · 08/03/2023 14:20

Oh gosh!! That’s horrible. Fingers crossed a MR will be done and you’ll be awarded that way. Not that you should have too. How old if your son? X

chuggins · 08/03/2023 14:40

I've asked a similar question before but I'm so confused so I just wanted ask to clarify. Is my scan date either

  1. the date that was stamped on my form that I phoned up for the forms Or
  2. the date they received it back?

Thanks again

The day they receive the filled out forms

chuggins · 08/03/2023 14:53

@Patientlywaitingx2
Thankyou for that

Lodol · 08/03/2023 15:08

I just phoned to check additional information was received , they said they have a backlog from mid feb to scan documents and it would be a few more weeks before anything recently sent is scanned

also advised 14/15 week wait I was originally told 12 weeks

chuggins · 08/03/2023 15:36

Had it always been such a long wait? This is my first time applying and was shocked at how long it takes to be honest

Snickerdoodles19 · 08/03/2023 15:52

@chuggins no not at all, it used to be 6/8 weeks from sending off to hearing a decision so they must be massively understaffed

chuggins · 08/03/2023 16:03

They must be. Was honestly shocked at the wait. I have another at least 8 weeks left to wait and I think about it everyday can't wait for decision day

Snickerdoodles19 · 08/03/2023 16:04

@chuggins yes it’s a horrible feeling, my current award ends next Tuesday and I still haven’t heard, I phoned last Thursday and it wasn’t even with a decision maker. I’m going to phone up tomorrow and hopefully will have some progress

chuggins · 08/03/2023 16:11

@Snickerdoodles19 fingers crossed there's news for you! My claim is for my son (asd) if he is awarded do you know how often you have to renew?

Snickerdoodles19 · 08/03/2023 16:15

@chuggins i think it all depends on the severity of the condition and how their care needs are and if they are likely to get better over time, I think minimum is 2 years they can award but obviously they can do it for a lot longer, my sons renewal is based off of adhd, sleep disorder, sensory process disorder and tics plus behaviour and other issues

Mumtodiabetic · 08/03/2023 19:22

Hi I’ve been following the thread for a while first time commenting. I have applied for my son 5 who was diagnosed type 1 diabetic in October 2022. Scan date 9/1/23 I think it’s terrible u have to wait atleast 3 months after diagnosis even though his condition is life long 🙄 such a long wait and seems I still have a long wait ahead of me!

Snickerdoodles19 · 09/03/2023 09:25

@Brown2010 hi, I’ve just called them up again, it’s been with a dm for the last few days so the lady said that it should be done by the end of next week and to call back next Tuesday the day it’s meant to end, my god my stress levels are off the scale x

Nicnac91 · 09/03/2023 09:28

@Snickerdoodles19 im glad yours is with decision maker now! It's so stressful but i hope your get the decision you want. Fingers crossed for you. I'll phone back on Monday to see how mines getting on end date 19/03

Snickerdoodles19 · 09/03/2023 09:31

@Nicnac91 the lady said to me they weren’t looking at renewals right up until they were due to end, I don’t mind but why send them out 5 months early, they have had mine 17 weeks tomorrow

Mommax3 · 09/03/2023 09:32

I just called this morning, got through to a lovely man called Phil. He told me that my LG’s is now with a decision maker (DM) and that we should have a decision within the next few days. Now a ridiculous nervy wait for the next couple of days!
For reference our scan date is the 28/11 - so that is 14+3 days before it’s gone to a DM

Snickerdoodles19 · 09/03/2023 09:39

@Mommax3 awdul feeling isn’t it 😔😔😔

Boymom10 · 09/03/2023 09:42

Hi been watching this thread a while now. Put in for my sons renewal scan date 24/11 just rang this morning and it’s not with a dm yet and told I want hear till the week of 28th of march!! The end date!! It does make you second guess yourself and if I’ve sent enough evidence off as ds is nearly 13. His last renewal was only 2 years and nothing has changed.

Snickerdoodles19 · 09/03/2023 09:46

@Boymom10 the same for me, mine ends next Tuesday but it’s only been with a dm for a few days but hopefully will have a decision at the end of the week

Boymom10 · 09/03/2023 09:55

@Snickerdoodles19 its crazy I’ve never had to wait this long before. And they send the letter so far in advance fingers crossed you hear soon

Snickerdoodles19 · 09/03/2023 09:58

@Boymom10 me either, it just shows you how understaffed they really are now, I’m just going to wait now and ring up on Tuesday

AnxietyMumma · 09/03/2023 10:49

Slightly off topic but does anyone know if councils will accept OT assessments from private rather than NHS? I found out yesterday ours is a 10 month wait instead of 18 weeks. Mu local council won't get back to me but I know I need an OT assessment plus a DLA claim of MRC to be able to have a need for a 3rd bedroom
