Thought it was time for a new thread :)

I sent my sons diagnosis letter and his school senco also wrote a paragraph

That's it i got letter from hospital about my son hip and leg feets as well and daily ho we stuggle with him

I’m south east too. Also the 24th. Nothing yet :(

Hate waiting i really do think my son will not get it .

I’ve sent no evidence with my forms, just filled them in the best that I could. We are awaiting assessments at present out waiting lists are 18 months.
I also do not feel too hopeful, but will go for Mandatory Reconsideration if she isn’t awarded. School SENCO haven’t been much help she does have a learning plan in place at school that her teacher formulated, but I complained and have been invited in to a meeting in just over a week. Her behaviour at school vs home is completely different!

i totally get you. My daughter presents so differently in school and seems to explode when she gets home. It’s masking all day in school it must be so hard for them then when they get home to their ‘safe place’ that’s when it come out. Google the coke bottle effect. School don’t see this and unfortunately for us this is why we often don’t get the help we need. X

Oh that’s very interesting to know!! Will defo read up on it. It does also make total sense! It’s hard though as I feel school genuinely think I’m making it up. I feel incredibly unsupported in general by the school. It’s so tough fighting with everyone for a diagnosis, it shouldn’t be this much of a battle to get support for our children x

I hate all this with schools mine have been no help despite me asking persistently, they have broken my little one emotionally to the point I've removed her from school. Since then they are on the phone daily to see what help they can be.... too little too late. Good luck to all waiting 🤞🤞

@Mommax3 hear hear, I no what u mean totally, my daughter has been labelled the naughty child and her school has excluded her over any excuse instead of trying to help. If the child is challenging or disruptive in any way, there not interested they just want them off there hands, it's shockin really x

Anyone here still waiting from the 24th November? I’m beginning to think it’s a decline for me now

Hi im 24th november i called last week thursday and was with DM im going to call about 10 to see if theres any update, fingers crossed you hear soon too x

@Mommax3 know how you feel. Felt this way for over a year now feel the school is abit more supportive as they can see the struggles themselves. But it was a hard long wait before this happened.

Waiting since beginning of December and they said end of March it will be looked at.

I'm 22 December looks like I have at least 4-5 weeks looking at these comments 😑😑

Hi all,
I have just rang up now got straight through. My scan date is 4th October for a change of circumstances so it’s 22 weeks tomorrow. The man on phone said the coc are now taking 23 and half weeks to look at. He advised I wait till w/c 25th March and call up then if I still haven’t heard anything. My anxiety is through the roof now but I’ve waited this long so it’s another couple of weeks. Good luck to those still waiting. 🙏x

Fingers crossed for you. Let me know what they say today after you call them. I just want to know either way now the wait is stressing me out :(

Hi i rang dla this morning my son has been award with high rate on daily living which is good for us ..

Hey all just rang up, the lady was lovely, she said I can see we got it in the 30th November, and then said it’s with a case Manager and should hear something in the next 2 weeks, does this mean it’s with a decision maker? Xx

I’ve just called and got through to a lovely lady. She said mines 14 weeks today and still hasn’t been assigned to a DM. She explained some areas are taking longer than others and that the postal strikes have really taken a toll on them. She said I should hear a decision within the next 2 weeks. So fingers crossed, I also asked her to add a text alert once a decision has been made.
