@Dawnie0709 my current award ends 14/3, I called yesterday and it wasn’t even with a dm yet the lady checked on their system and they aren’t even looking at renewals until it’s been with them until the 16th week.

That doesn't sound good.....

AnxietyMumma · 03/03/2023 16:45

@tbxx it's so hard isn't it!! I really feel for you. We do have a 2 bed but he's so disruptive in the night, my youngest is beginning to struggle with the behaviour of his older brother. Also my eldest isn't nice to him. Not just sibling rivalry, I mean it's physical and abusive. I'm really hoping this OT and DLA will be our life line

When is your scan date? I hope you get the same x

@AnxietyMumma its so hard, my son escape hes school and ran straight home hes struggled with school since nursery and the senco always said "hes just a child who doesnt like school" and said im "just an emotional mum" all those years she said that.. once he escaped he was placed into a behavior school by the senco 🙈 insted of helping she sent him away baring in mind he has sever seperation anxiety with me ive now been sitting in this behavior school every single day with him for the past 6 months, he wasnt even there a week and the cahms worker who works with that school told me that he has ahdh and asd and were now waiting for assessments so this school has been a blessing really but its been a struggle it took him nearly 3 months to even get in the gates he was kicking off big time like he always has done 😩

tbxx · 03/03/2023 17:32

@AnxietyMumma my scan date is 24/11/2022 x

tamy463 · 03/03/2023 17:33

minnie it’s a new claim. didn’t sound right how if they received it on the 15th of feb how it could be with Dm. so i rang again to get a new person and they said the same thing it’s with DM !! xx

Minnie83 · 03/03/2023 17:36

@tamy463 omg really, well there is hope for me then. Where's abouts are you though? I think maybe different areas maybe quicker than others

tamy463 · 03/03/2023 17:38

yes i rang again to get someone new and they told me the same thing how it’s with dm, and i could find out in a week or so but if not don’t ring back till the end of the month! xxx

tamy463 · 03/03/2023 17:42

126t · 03/03/2023 17:53

Snickerdoodles19 · 03/03/2023 19:01

I know, it’s 16 weeks today so hopefully it’s get looked at over the weekend or beginning of next week, I’m going to ring again next Thursday and fingers crossed it will be sorted but I’ve seen a couple of people who haven’t had their renewals looked at until a couple of days before it ends

Dawnie0709 · 03/03/2023 19:26

LoopyLouLou22 · 03/03/2023 21:14

Hi all, I sent my renewal off on Wednesday by 1st class signed for, It was received on Thursday at the Wolverhampton office, My current award ends on the 5th May

AnxietyMumma · 03/03/2023 21:32

@tbxx that sounds so upsetting. I'd be complete mess. I cant believe your child and you were treated like that. Thats basically taken away your time to be you as you have to be in the school with him. We really shouldn't have to fight for our children like this

The sendco ignored all my worries. He's in year 3 now and since year 1 he has spent almost half the year out of class. She didn't see it as a big deal as he continued to excel in learning. I went over her head and eventually got the EP in. Even after that it took to the end of year 2. Although they have a behavioural and care plan in place.

My son is opposite to yours as he loves school. he cant deal with change so when its school holidays hes triggered. But he does go into flight mood at school and has attempted to escape the school grounds Or he runs off and hides somewhere small and dark. He doesn't mask things either. Currently waiting on ASD and ADHD ourselves. EHCP states he presents as PDA too (This was only sent off 3 weeks ago). He also has sensory overload. Since new sendco and head teacher has been in stuff has moved pretty quickly and actually supporting him like he has a diagnosis. In his year 3 Sat's he was above average in all Subjects. In maths he scored 120 and that maximum score x

Its like alot of sencos arent actually picking up these things and this is where their needed most to help, so glad for you the new senco and head are helping now.

Aw im glad your little loves school, my son HATES school and always has done since nursery and now hes in year 5, hes never been in a routine so school routine is hard he cant sit still for longer than 5minutes, he cant concentrate at all and when he was asking them he needs a little time out from
doing work they were sending him to the book corner for 5minutes alone.

The last 6 months have been a rollercoaster of mixed emotions also, its like ive always known but never actually known that there was something up if that makes sense 😔 every sign is there thats why it was picked up so quick by the psychiatrist, he has sensory overload masks overstimulation loud noises overcrowded places fussy eater (beige foods are his go to) hardly sleeps repetitive speech the list is so long its actually sad that i made a CAHMS referral off my own back in 2019 and the school told me they would help instead so i cancelled cahms and i beat myself up everyday over cancelling cause the school didnt do much to help after, and i only cancelled because its to much for my son going new places with new people i just new i wouldnt even be able to get him to see those people 😔

but onwards up and upwards hopefully now 🙏🏻

harjinder01 · 04/03/2023 12:01

Mommax3 · 04/03/2023 12:47

harjinder01 · 04/03/2023 12:54

Mommax3 we just want to know don't we

DarkRav3n · 04/03/2023 15:15

My scan date was the 28 November and I have just had a phone call to say my little boy has been awarded DLA. And I should have the paperwork in the next 7 to 10 days and to keep a eye on my bank .

I'm in the West Midlands if that helps anyone ....

lawraahh32 · 04/03/2023 15:48

What number did they call you from?

Mommax3 · 04/03/2023 15:58

I’m in the South East! Honestly the wait is just beyond painful. I’m not sure how they can warrant it taking so long. Surely it indicates they require more staff 😖

harjinder01 · 04/03/2023 16:01

Oh k that's have good

harjinder01 · 04/03/2023 16:02

DarkRav3n- what evidence you sent in if u dnt mind me asking you thank you

DarkRav3n · 04/03/2023 16:40

Lawraahh32

08000232635 was the number the called me from. It came up as universal credit .
