Just received a letter from child disability that my 4 year old has been awarded middle rate care. Backdated to September 2022! So pleased, was sure I would have to fight for it

Mumof3boys28 · 25/02/2023 17:47

Congratulations :). Do you mind if I ask what your scan date was?

YouCantBeSirius · 25/02/2023 18:00

I'm sure it was mid October

I’d call back. Probs means you been awarded . They rang my friend to say you’ve been awarded

Als, any update on your award this weekend? x

Cody4 · 26/02/2023 14:29

Was told I’d get a text when a decision has been made feel. Am I best off ringing up again tomorrow been with case manager since Monday

MygirlGrace · 26/02/2023 14:34

Hi,
Mine is a change of circumstances. Scan date was 4th October so it’s just over 20 weeks. I heard the coc are talking around 22/23 weeks but I rang on Friday as I’m getting so anxious waiting. Spoke to a lovely man who said they are taking the full 23 weeks but once it’s assigned to a DM then it should be pretty quick in making a decision. It’s just a long wait isn’t it 😞Good luck to all those still waiting and congratulations to those who have received a positive outcome xx

Als2017 · 26/02/2023 15:16

Hey no not from me! How about you? Xx

Mummabear77 · 26/02/2023 15:33

Hi all, thankfully I found this forum! First time applying for DLA no idea of DWP process or how long it would take them am anxiously waiting to hear about my LB decision. Scan date was 23/11 so coming up to 14 weeks though called at 12 weeks and the lady said it was with a DM and is taking 15 weeks.
Just want a yes or no now, was stressful enough filling in the form in the first place let alone the wait! Good luck to all mummas fighting for their babies x

Natasha1994 · 26/02/2023 15:47

Still nothing from my little boys either. Scan date 22/11 called Friday was picked up by dm hoepfully not too long now lady said 1-10 days xxx

Cody4 · 26/02/2023 16:19

Lostatsea10 · 26/02/2023 16:46

@Cody4 Oh fingers crossed 🤞 that you get a positive outcome. Keep us posted on here 😊I asked the man I spoke to if a text could be sent once a decision has been made he said he would add it to my notes. I’m just hoping what I put in her form and the consultants letter from Alder Hey is enough information and they can make a decision based on that and don’t have to write out to anyone else as that can take weeks 🙏 x

chuggins · 26/02/2023 18:49

Hi! Sorry just wanted to ask what people mean when they say scan date? Is that the date they stamp on the form when I applied for my little boy? If so mine was 9th December 2022 and was told a 13 week wait for it to be sent to a caseworker

emilyant · 26/02/2023 19:03

There are a couple of dates. If you rang up and got it posted out there will be a date on it - any money you get will be backdated to that date. After you sent it in you should have received a letter that will have said what day it was received. That is the scan date and the point at which the clock starts on the wait. If you downloaded it and sent it in your scan date and back pay date are the same.

Hope that makes sense!!

emilyant · 26/02/2023 19:06

It was my first time too!
My guess is you will hear soon - I heard yesterday and was the 21/11! I’d give it to the weekend and maybe call again next week if you don’t hear?

I'm worrying about this myself, I sent it the Thursday it was delivered Friday early morn signed for so I can see it was delivered that day however I haven't had a text to say they've got it and the last date they needed it was the 28th which is Tuesday? So I'm worrying cos I've sent it in time etc but I haven't been notified they've actually got it other than through the Royal Mail maybe I'll have to call up tomorrow

emilyant · 26/02/2023 19:07

I called after a few weeks and they confirmed they had it and it had arrived a few days after posting. The actual letter came a month later! Calling out my mind at rest though….

L0ts · 26/02/2023 20:25

Has anybody here ever not received the forms when they rang and had to ring again?

We originally rang and asked for the forms in September, didn’t receive anything so rang again in October, still nothing. Rang a third time near the end of November and finally received them. Sent them off and scan date is 19/12.

When I rang a third time the lady on the phone said to write a sort of cover letter to send with my claim stating we originally asked for the forms long before we received them and had to ring 3 times. She said the money would be backdated but I really don’t see them doing this? Has anybody heard of this happening to anybody else?
