This is already giving me anxiety I don't know how you ladies have done it! Hats off to you all x

Snickerdoodles19 · 24/02/2023 14:50

It’s horrible 15 weeks today for my renewal ends 14/3

Sunligh98 · 24/02/2023 14:53

I have been following this thread for a few weeks whilst anxiously waiting for a decision on my sons claim. Just thought I would share as i just called for an update and was told mine is in the queue for people working overtime this weekend and if I call back Tuesday it should be done. Scan date was 21/11/22 and I’m in Cheshire.

Cody4 · 24/02/2023 15:16

@Natasha1994 change of circumstances

Brown2010 · 24/02/2023 15:34

@Snickerdoodles19 have you phoned to see if you have been awarded or are u just waiting for the letter? Please can you let me know when you find out as my renewal ends 2 weeks after yours x

Snickerdoodles19 · 24/02/2023 15:46

@Brown2010 i phoned last Friday and the said it was in the holding que waiting to be assigned and that I should ring back at the beginning of march for an update, it’s really frustrating isn’t it.

Snickerdoodles19 · 24/02/2023 15:47

@Brown2010 of course I will let you know☺️☺️

Lostatsea10 · 24/02/2023 15:58

Still not with a DM. Knew I shouldn’t have rung 🤦‍♀️

@Snickerdoodles19 thank you! It is so frustrating leaving it so late to the end of the claim .. I don’t think any of my child’s care needs have changed to be honest from last time .. only I never used to let my son walk to school without me but now his older and has such a good friend I trust I allow it ide like to add no road crossing we live on the same street as his secondary school but I feel like they are a lot stricter now so never know 🤷🏻‍♀️ X

Shell1286 · 24/02/2023 16:09

I've just found out my daughter is entitled to DLA waiting for letter to confirm but what do I need to tell universal credit? Myself and my partner work full time so we only get a small amount atm.

Snickerdoodles19 · 24/02/2023 16:11

@Brown2010 i think the last time 2 years ago I only waited 6 weeks for a decision after us sent the forms in I can’t believe how long it’s taken this time round, my sons care needs have got significantly worse a lot more negative behaviour, impulsiveness is off the scale regarding dangerous behaviours, he’s got really bad tics and shows a lot more anger, he’s tried out 3 different doses of adhd meds and I think we are on track with it but the downside to this is that he barely sleeps even with meds it’s exhausting it really is.

harjinder01 · 24/02/2023 16:26

My username on here is quite fitting... Because i am super stressed out! Got a text on tuesday morning to say my child qualifies for DLA, called up straight away to see the rates. All was good, cried when I found out, scan date was 22/11. From what ive been reading on this group, back pay is paid 3 working days from awarded date. I didnt receive anything today so I gave them a call to check this afternoon. I was told that the claim has been cancelled and my child isnt entitled to anything. When I asked why, I was informed they received a report from the school the day I was awarded, so it went to a different case manager for an observation... apparently the school have said my child is like any other child... which isnt true, he has an EHC in place, countless evidence has been sent but now im told it will have to go under an MR!!! Has anyone ever had their award taken away! Im in disbelief!

stressedoutmamm · 24/02/2023 17:26

Just to add, I managed to speak to the head teacher of the school at 4pm, she has denied that anyone from DLA have been in contact with regards to my son as she needs to sign everything off that the senco does?! Now what do I do?!

Oh my days! I feel so sorry for you!
Ive never heard them going back on a decision before, if the head teacher says they have not been in contact with DLA, maybe its a mix up DLA's end?! They are closed now so you cant call them again, but you need to get the exact information, what school the "evidence" was from, who signed it (the person)
and when was it sent, you can also ask exactly what it says, write it all down and go straight back to the head teacher. I cant believe it! Is it possible they have mistaken someone elses child for yours?! I know that sounds stupid, but mistakes can happen. Your child obviously needs extra care otherwise they wouldnt have awarded DLA in the first place so to cancel it completely because of a report from the school seems so weird. Hope you get it sorted monday, let us know how you get on xxxx

Oh no! That sounds horrendous. No advice I’m afraid as I’ve not heard it happen before but I hope you get it sorted!

Just wondering if anyone can help me out please, my husband has been on phone to our energy supplier they asked certain questions anyway… asked if anyone in the house is disabled as my husband was answering him he jumped in and said that we just had a notice saying yes your son has high level autism does this mean my claim has been awarded??? I was meant to get a text when they made a decision

126t · 24/02/2023 21:15

No, the DWP wouldn't inform the energy supplier, its likely that someone (either you and your husband) has mentioned that to them on previous contact. Its so you are placed on the priority service register x

morning, we’re week 14 now and school have told me they have done a report highlighting my daughter’s needs whilst there. Is there any point sending it to DLA now with it being so close to a decision? I haven’t got the report yet but can obtain it monday. Shall i send it in or call them when i have it and read it off to them?

Definitely send it, it could be the difference to receiving MRC and HRC, I would give them a call first thing monday morning to check on your claim, if no decision has been made, inform them you are sending it in. Then send it on special next day by 1pm xx

Wouldnt it be so much easier if they had an email you could send evidence to!! xx
