DLA Wait Times Part 9 (2023)

Thought it was time for a new thread :)

Scan date 16/11. Called Monday told 3 week wait, called first thing straight through was awarded on 22nd. HRC for a year. I didn’t have much evidence I just sent in portage report, nursery wrote a piece but I wrote a very detailed report. He is 3 next week. I’m south east. Hope this helps someone x

Hi everyone just thought I would eat you know the DM spoke to the deputy head teacher yesterday and has declined my sons claim 😢 I am going to talk to his old teacher and Senco to see if they would be willing to do me a letter or something to back up my claim x

@Macariosmummy im so sorry :( take it to an MR love, get your old senco to write something and anyone who knows him and knows your struggles ask them to do like a little statement so they get other people's views on the whole thing to. Keep strong and keep fighting xx

@Lostatsea10 thank you, I will definitely be doing a MR and appeal if I need to. I thought an educational psychologist report would outweigh the opinion of a head teacher 🤷🏽‍♀️ also I had a meeting with Senco yesterday who told me that they have things in place in all classes for reception Y1 and Y2 as they have a lot of children in the school that have ASD/ADHD etc etc so even which would help a child like my son so they wouldn’t necessarily pick up on his symptoms (I don’t know if I’ve worded that right) so I asked her if he was in a different school he would need extra support but as you have everything in place he don’t need extra support in this school? She said yes but yet they didn’t say that to DLA, it makes no sense at all xx

Hi… I posted/ranted a few days ago on here. I have had the txt to say my daughter qualifies for DLA…
mum so happy I cried for her…
All I can say is stick with it… the waiting times are ridiculous but unfortunately no matter how many times you call it does not speed up the process..
I did request for them to send me a txt message when they had decided so that made it easier than me phoning all the time.
my scan date was the 10/11..

Won’t do no harm to ring by the looks of it there’s all diffrent dates being passed to Dms I’m 22/11 still said to me 2 weeks wait so im currently calling them now will let you know the outcome don’t have must faith to be honest but you just never know

Scan date 22/11 it has been picked up by a dm today and the lady was lovely she said she couldn’t tell me anymore but the wait is over for me praying for the best out come for my son he’s non verbal nearly 5 and very high on the asd spectrum but he’s soooooo loving 🥰 xx

Thankyou so much it’s so nerve wrecking isn’t it I mean it has been since sending the form but knowing they have it and this is the final outcome it’s scary will keep yous updated praying for the best outcome as all of us are 🤞🏻xx

They said I should here sometime in April it’s taking 14.5 weeks but it could change
