Hi been following this thread a while, just wanting some advice.
I sent off my sons form back in July I’m on week 9. What evidence did people send to back up their claim?
I’ve sent Educational psychologist report and report from school saying they will be applying for ehcp for him as he’s exceeding the resources they have available. I also sent a report from camhs we’re they refused to do him an assessment for adhd but referred him to TADS For support from them.
im worrying the report from camhs will go against his decision even though I have both Ed psych and school backing up the extra support he needs.

Oilytoe90 · 27/09/2022 15:03

Those of you who have had the uc disabled child element backdated how long did it take to receive? Just dreading if I have to wait months again 🤣🤣

@alwaysonthegomum do you have a diagnosis yet or still waiting on one? Have you seen a paediatrician as yet? xx

alwaysonthegomum · 27/09/2022 15:24

No not got a diagnosis or seen peads, school are helping getting him referred back to camhs fo an assessment as they spoke with them and expressed their serious concerns for his mental health and this was not even acknowledged by camhs. I’ve been fighting for my boy support for about 4 years done every course imaginable and seem to be getting nowhere. It’s so frustrating all I want I him to get the help and support he so vitally needs

2under2and1more · 27/09/2022 15:39

Couldn’t help but call, 45 mins on hold and told still no decision made! I said it’s been with the DM over a week and he said that it just depends how many cases they’ve got on their work load! Said it shouldn’t be much longer, the wait is just awful

Does anyone know how uc works? So I’ve never used it before and now my youngest has qualified for HRC and LRM I have put in a claim for it, hoping to get at least something! Would they backdate it to when I sent the DLA forms in? So scan date was 12th July or just from when I’ve applied for uc which they said I would hear back within 6 weeks?

Oilytoe90 · 27/09/2022 15:45

@2under2and1more because its a new claim they will only backdate to the date u started your uc claim x

@Oilytoe90 @Kage87 congrats 🥳
I updated UC yesterday via Journal and changed information and i was career ect. A work coach called today to run through it and requested backpay said it should be this week for a decision and money by end of week. I dunno what i’ll get as never had anything from them before. No backdated as yet but she said 3-5 days from Friday afternoon so fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Oilytoe90 · 27/09/2022 15:48

@Sarahjlk wow that's really quick. Hopefully won't take long for mine either x

My son doesn’t have a diagnosis as yet. Still waiting on referral and he was awarded HRC on Friday.
the evidence i sent was..
the pathway referral form filled in by myself and one from Senco teacher.
early help assessment filled in by senco at preschool & senco at new school.
statement from Health Visitor
specialist teacher report.
ages & stages questionnaires.
very detailed extra pages on some of the questions.
and answered all the questions in as much details as possible, like every single detail about him. Hope that helps.

I thought that, we will see. As long as it’s not 14 weeks eh.

2under2and1more · 27/09/2022 15:55

@Oilytoe90 thank you! Just meet enough to be able to get tutors!

Thankyou.
I have detailed reports from Ed psych and school, school have expressed his needs are at the highest it’s ever been and see no other option than an ehcp as they struggling to meet the support he needs. He also has to wear leg splints which often causes frustration.
I applied last year but was declined but he hadn’t any of the reports or anything as was awaiting appointments.
it’s so stressful having to wait so long

Shellbel10 · 27/09/2022 16:00

Hi am new to this thread. I’ve applied for dla without diagnosis. I’ve sent copy of iep and copy of Childs prescription of sleep sedative. Do you think this is enough evidence

That's all I've sent in too x

KodaS · 27/09/2022 16:16

Tbh I hear all different things, I didn’t apply until I have a diagnosis and was on going to get one for 18 months but I know the pathway is so long now and the help takes even longer. I think DLA understand that so don’t see why you wouldn’t get it if you supply everything to them.

Mamaof41988 · 27/09/2022 16:16

@Oilytoe90 fantastic news. Literally kept on thread to see if you finally got good news. I'd imagine your back pay will go in Thurs/Fri as they say 3 to 5 days. Tho they could tell u over phone what you will get. I had a lovely woman who told me not only my back pay but what to expect monthly

I do have a question is there a reason why it's different time scales for you to renew does any one know. I have to renew in 2024 I know other are same and other people it's 3 years or longer.

Very happy it's all sorted for you

KodaS · 27/09/2022 16:22

@Mamaof41988 I thought it was down to age, encase they get older and then need less support. My sons was 4 years review, not sure this time round if awarded it what it will be as he’s now 12 xx

I bank with monzo so I can get paid a day early 🙂. Yeah the lady i spoke to was wonderful, explained how much to expect every month, when I would get my first payment and how much my backpay is. She was lush lol. I cried down the phone to her aswel lol. Tbh I have a feeling they called his doctor and the school, his behaviour issues can get extreme and his eating fluctuates, he forgets to eat and drink and self harms on a daily basis, he's 5 and has adhd and autism x
