@Oilytoe90 just wondering if you have herd from uc iv had a letter saying they will back date careers element and disability element from the date he was rewarded but it does not say when

Mamofasd · 12/10/2022 10:54

I've just waited 49 minutes in the queue to get cut off not happy

KodaS · 12/10/2022 10:55

Morning just for anyone who was going to call today. I got a really helpful man who advised that they are looking at 11th July dates for new claims, he advised renewal is different. Mine is new claim due to missing renewal deadline as I didn’t get the letter for renewal. My sons claim was scanned on 27th July he advised me another 2 and half weeks before a decision will be made.

I advised I know people who are before this date and he advised they should have a decision as this is the date for new claims.

Cakeyface123 · 12/10/2022 11:07

They just phoned me! asking me to confirm some questioned I’d missed off the form (which is odd as I didn’t miss any) so his ethnicity and whether he had a passport. It was a renewal - scan date 7th jul. Claim due to expire 14th Oct
The v nice guy said he was looking at my claim and that we would get an award (not didn’t say what it would be) but that a letter would be sent.

Mamofasd · 12/10/2022 12:14

Oilytoe90 · 12/10/2022 12:25

@Oilytoe90 thankyou il
look now

MsSerenity · 12/10/2022 13:22

I rang up again today and spoke to a lovely lady. She said to me that honestly, she cannot tell me when my claim will be looked at as approximately they are looking at 13 weeks to when it is received. She said this is if you are lucky for it to be looked at when it's 13 weeks because it can take a while for cases to be allocated and for decisions and checks to be made, even though there are deadlines. She advised me to not ring for updates as claimants are being told different information when they ring up, which shouldn't happen. She said it's not their fault but that information is not always updated straight away on their system by other colleagues at the DLA so when people ring, they are being told what the operator sees. She says now they are being advised to not give timeframes such as in the next 2 weeks, etc, as it might not be the case. She did say usually no news is good news and they will ring you if they need to clarify some information.

Hi!
I have the same scan date as you, I called this morning as I knew it went to the DM last Thursday only to be told they asked for an updated piece of evidence on Monday?! No calls or anything before hand to let me know. Thank goodness I called today as I would've been waiting endlessly for a letter. Maybe you should give them a call to see what's up?

sjf19811 · 12/10/2022 16:42

How long do claims normally take once with dm?

Chantastic · 12/10/2022 16:44

@MissRedd I called on Monday and they told me it’s with the DM and that I shouldn’t keep calling and I should wait for a letter, she said another 2-3 weeks 😩😩

Chantastic · 12/10/2022 16:45

@MissRedd i should also add, I’ve only called twice so I found her and her comment quite rude! X

sjf19811 · 12/10/2022 16:56

Have they not realised they’d get a lot less calls if the letter said 12 weeks instead of 8

Bunnysarah · 12/10/2022 17:16

Hi @MissRedd can i asl what extra piece of info they asked for? Judt so i know what to expect if they ask me!

Hi,

I sent in a CVI (certificate of visual impairment) that was dated 2019. I think it was just too old to accept so I sent in the new one that I got for DD when she did her eye test this year. Surprised they didn't just decline the application as it was a new claim. But I'm worried I'll be sent to the back of the queue again! 😫

2under2and1more · 12/10/2022 20:14

Backdated money went in yesterday! Awarded from 12th July for 2 years

sjf19811 · 13/10/2022 06:19

Lila15 · 13/10/2022 08:14

Chantastic · 13/10/2022 09:59

Still no payment, text or letter here 😪

5th july scan date.

sjf19811 · 13/10/2022 10:30

2nd July was scan date

MG811216 · 13/10/2022 10:41

Just received a text to say our son qualifies for dla - such a relief!! It was a first time application with copies of all hospital reports and a statement from the head teacher. It was received on 11th July.

Hope you all hear back soon.

I have the same date, they've received my nee evidence but nothing yet. Hopefully we'll both get a decision by the end of the week!
