A new thread for those waiting on DLA claims as the other one was rather full. @girlmum25

Bvbvbv · 07/10/2022 16:38

@Db28 so sorry to hear that was it new claim x

Db28 · 07/10/2022 16:47

Yes new claim, I'm at end of my tether here, struggling on my own with my son. They want to live a day in my life. I will take it all the way for help he needs. I work with lac children with simular struggles daily aswell as being the sole guardian for my children

sjf19811 · 07/10/2022 17:09

Did they tell you why or do you have to wait for a letter?

mumofboyz2 · 07/10/2022 17:17

Only just noticed I got a text about 4.30 to say my boy qualifies for DLA, such a relief so glad the wait is over. No idea what rate etc been awarded it just says I will get a letter with more details within 2 weeks. I had a scan date of 5th July and it’s a new claim for anyone waiting on a July dates x

Pollyley · 07/10/2022 17:21

So sorry to hear that @Db28 I hope they give you decent feedback as to why. I think I remember reading somewhere the Citizen's Advice Bureau can support?

3Angelz · 07/10/2022 19:28

Woke up today with money in my account, rang upand both of my children have been awarded 😭 both mrc and one of them lrm too. Rang for the forms 18th June, scanned on the 28th July and the lady said the decision was made on the 4th October (my sons birthday 🥲) . Does anyone know what dat I put on universal credit change of circumstances please ? Thank you 🥰

Good luck to everyone still waiting !!🤞💓🍀

Cee96 · 07/10/2022 19:30

Scan date is July 4th it's with decision marker . Only evidence I have sent is his diagnosis letter with what medication he is on - ADHD. Slight traits of ASD.
im so nervous my son might not get it . When I called a few weeks back she said I have covered everything in the form but the part where it's from someone who knows my son didn't say what care my son has in school - it was filled by his headteacher .
the lady said it hasn't not helped but it hasn't helped either . But yes I have covered everything and doctors letter with diagnosis says that he has trouble sleeping ..

Mamofasd · 08/10/2022 11:34

Aww it's getting closer to my date I'm so anxious 🙈

Cakeyface123 · 08/10/2022 13:27

Hi all
long time lurker, new poster here 👋🏻
scan date 6th July. It’s a renewal, current claim due to end 14th Oct. Haven’t phoned, but had an acknowledgment to say form rec’d. This is the second renewal - he’s rec’d DLA since he was 2 due to GDD. This time the form was just a very brief one asking if any changes. Hoping to at least get the same award as last time but I have made a point of stressing how bad his sleep is as things are so dire 😒 Prob won’t appeal if we get the same rate as last time tho. I’m mentally exhausted with EHCP/school issues/medication issues/CBT. Totally burnt out 😐 Everything has all piled on at once! Hoping to hear re DLA early next week so it’s one less thing to think about

Jodeeplus4 · 08/10/2022 15:12

@3Angelz are they new claims or renewals? My scan date was 21st July (I sent it 15thJuly) and I’ve heard nothing at all

3Angelz · 08/10/2022 15:19

@Jodeeplus4 they was both new clams. I was super shocked, I wasn't expecting it to be looked at until end of October with everyone else's waiting times .

kateof2 · 08/10/2022 15:19

Jodeeplus4 · 08/10/2022 15:31

@3Angelz thats good going though, really pleased for you

3Angelz · 08/10/2022 15:39

@kateof2 yes, I'm in England flower. Honestly know how everyone is feeling with the waiting... I was such an emotional wreck 😅. But I have everything crossed for you all & all your children! 🤞💓🤞

@Jodeeplus4 thank you sweets 🥰

Jo197 · 08/10/2022 18:07

my son has been rewarded dla for 2 years just wondering when it comes to renewal is it another massive form ?

Pollyley · 08/10/2022 20:05

@Jo197 in my opinion yes it is another massive form. Essentially you complete it as if it's a whole new claim giving in depth examples describing the difficulties your child has. Can't just say something like" no change" still the same or worsened. My child's is a renewal and I've added 11 additional pages of comments as the boxes are too small. 15pages of evidence and the last school statement. Hopefully another 3 weeks and I should know. My anxiety is awful over it.

Jo197 · 08/10/2022 21:05

I know the feeling I think he will have to claim it himself when it runs out as he will be 17 hopefully have a diagnosis by then

Noneyerbuisness11234 · 09/10/2022 11:03

@xxkayleighxx17 @Oilytoe90 @Shannon26 I'm waiting too on uc and word from carers uc have now added the monthly element but no word at all about backpay I left a message on my journal every week lol

Jo197 · 09/10/2022 11:16

@Noneyerbuisness11234 how much extra do you get from uc iv applied for it

Shannon26 · 09/10/2022 11:18

@Jo197 Depends what rate on dla middle rate you'll.get £132 extra a month if you get hrc dla then it's £414 extra a month x

Jo197 · 09/10/2022 11:19

@Shannon26 thankyou
