Thought it might be nice to share videos of inspiring/amazing births we've been watching (come on we're all doing it!).

Good ones!!

not to mention the fact that that data is nearly 25 years old!

i don't get the op video ? It's says on the info her dh was downstairs awaiting the midwife ? While she set up the camera and gave birth in the bath ? A bit scary IMO.
I can't view the channel 4 ones, damn I phone . The
one by the sea was perfect though, she was so in touch.
I would want a trained medical person though, just incase !

I had an unassisted accidental homebirth, I would've been a bit pissed off if my husband had set up a camera whilst waiting for the MW. He stayed with me and our new little boy til the doorbell rang.

I'm so I can't watch video on my ancient computer and see it all properly.

I found the experience much better than being induced in hospital and strapped to a machine all day. I wasn't really scared just pleased he was eventually coming.

My DH was actually downstairs working in his dental surgery when I realised I needed him RIGHT NOW! HE had to leave a patient in the middle of a root canal treatment, but he arrived in time to phone the MW again and have one from the unit talking him through what to do. Loads of people after said poor patient having to wait in the chair for him to come back. I said poor DH, he delivered his baby the whole time knowing he had something else to go and do after.

It wasn't the best homebirth, but there's nothing like doing your 1st wee and shower in your own bathroom. And one person said to me after how lovely that his Daddy was the first person to hold him.

I think I may have to go out and get an iphone just to watch these videos!

Don't bother clinking my link below ladies, it's the same as the OP's!!

Bumping in the hope that Chellsgirl sees the query I've rasied over some of the stats she's quoted. thanks

Blimey - this thread has taken on a weird tangent...

Fascinating - I never meant for it to bring about discussions on unassisted births or c-sections, just to try and encourage people (especially if you've been watching 'One Born Every Minute') that giving birth isn't that scary. Home or hospital... It can be calm and peaceful and amazing.

Think I'll have a proper good long read after jumping in the shower.

I'll take that as a no then Chells

Yay, just managed to watch the OP link. Will try and link to some more... The only thing O would say is how it was strange she doesn't talk to the baby, but as someone else said maybe it was just shell shock.
