Passive Birth !!

Ok, so I know there's all this stuff about "active birth" and yoga, meditation, releasing your natural endorphins and riding on the crest of your waves of pain.

I really admire people who have the courage to embrace an "active birth"

Personally I feel that advances in medical technology have allowed me the luxury of wallowing in my own cowardice and I want all the pain relief I can lay my hands on.

Should I strat up a "passive birth" centre to advocate us cowards having as little as possible to do with the whole process, a random selection of cream cakes and DVDs in the delivery suite and a full bikini wax under epidural?

Who's up for that??

serah · 19/07/2005 18:59

serah · 19/07/2005 18:59

thte?

monkeytrousers · 19/07/2005 19:31

Der..Dunno what that means...>

serah · 19/07/2005 23:01

you don't know what "bumping it" means, or you don't know what "thte" means? Everyone knows what thte means... it means I'm well knackered and I should have been in bed hours ago and not be jabbing away at this keyboard, battling astigmatism.... [bugger it, i'm off to bed now emoticon]

serah · 19/07/2005 23:05

bumping it means just adding something ANYTHING to the thread to keep it alive in the last hour/last day shortcuts.

Some people just add the word "bump" if its a question that needs answering and no one has answered it yet and they do9n't know the answer. Thats why you see lots of posts going "bump" bumpity bump" "bumpity bumpityl:FAKSG 90qjipkfjgf sakjh983ijknd djksjfiauijglfaksdmccccccccccccccccccccccc (forehead hits keyboard as sleep sets in..............)

kgc · 20/07/2005 00:57

monkeytrousers · 20/07/2005 07:07

Was wondering whay I couldn't find it in the acronym list.

serah · 20/07/2005 09:11

We're actually talking about another thread kgc, but don't mind us, feel free to carry on with your insightful posts on this thread.

kgc · 20/07/2005 21:07

serah · 20/07/2005 21:57

kgc · 21/07/2005 00:49

serah · 21/07/2005 00:52

don't you mean gripp?

kgc · 21/07/2005 01:03

this thread has had its day so lets just lay it to rest and get on....p.s serah if grip is wrong then meant to say gripp hun.

serah · 21/07/2005 01:15

Erm, we were doing kgc.... by starting the passive parenting thread which is the subject of the bumping we were discussing. Grip wasn't wrong.... was just flexing my witt

C'mon.... get on the passive parenting board..... you know you've done something wrong... I certainly have! All will be revealed in a "top tips" Viz styleeee on said thread. Please tell me you're not my health visitor though?

kgc · 21/07/2005 01:22

flexing witt hun....what witt...!!!! only kidding....so what if I was your health visitor....

kgc · 21/07/2005 02:07

kgc · 21/07/2005 02:54

kgc · 21/07/2005 03:01

i apologise to all....and to serah for my attitude ....but will not apologise for the way I feel...

monkeytrousers · 21/07/2005 11:02

Still no bites...

serah · 21/07/2005 11:08

Like casting pearls before swine [slaps forhead and walks off emoticon]

serah · 21/07/2005 11:11

not a sausage Monkeytrousers. When I get chance, I'll add a few of my mishaps

mogwai · 21/07/2005 21:24

Fishy bait....fishy bait...

So we're all agreed the thread has had it's day. That kind of happened when we delivered our babies. Perhaps the passive parenting thread will kick off, perhaps not. We sure ain't gonna get our knickers in a twist if it doesn't.

I agree with Serah - if anyone wants to keep posting, they should fire away. Presumably there are some women who are still pregnant, terrified and full of cowardice out there? Perhaps they'll get a laugh out of all this!

The only ground rule is you need a sense of humour

What a fun time we've had. Like a day out to the seaside, now merrily dozing off on the back seat full of candyfloss and likely to puke before we hit the motorway.

Passive Birth kept me sane in the final weeks of my (extended) pregnancy when there was bugger all else to do except bounce on a birthing ball eating ice pops. Thanks to everyone who posted their humorous contributions

I'm wearing my black arm band - a fond adieu to the passive birth thread. Got me through the rough final stages of pregnancy with a big smile on my face. It was my rock.

I'll have to save my spectacularly wetting myself in hospital story for another thread, where i'll shed even more dignity on mumsnet. I like to think my mishaps make people feel better about themselves...
