I have been having period like pains and backache since friday evening, last night I had an hour and a half of really intense contractions every few minutes, that suddenly stopped, had a few this morning as well, but now back to the period like pains and backache, how long could this go on for?

bah

Lulumama · 01/03/2008 14:52

oh ! tell us more....

Lulumama · 01/03/2008 14:54

peachy, dd was OP, persistent OP and born OP. i had 4 false alarms, if memory serves, from about 35 weeks. several times where i was timing ctx and thinking i was going to have get DH home from work

in the end she was born on her due date!

had hindwater leak , went to be checked out, told nothing doing, stopped off for kebab with extra chilli sauce on way home! and woke up in labour, DD born early hours of the next morning... bad backache labour, latent phase 15 hours. but established labour 3 hours 15, so not bad at all ( had c.s first time, so nothing to compare to in terms of speed and intesntiy)

MerlinsBeard · 01/03/2008 15:11

OP = facing backwards? back to back?

How ou feeling now peachy?

I have had low back ache for the last 3 days, like period pain when i get it in my back, not eased by anything. Have blitzed the house from top to bottom today. To the extent that DP needs to go to the tip as the council won't pick up that many bin bags! All except "baby corner" which i cannae do as am crampy now

Lulumama · 01/03/2008 15:12

yes, back to back!

you sound busy nesting. mind you,i have been the same ! and i have no excuse ! have sorted DDs room and three huge drawers in the kitchen....

MerlinsBeard · 01/03/2008 15:16

its probabaly that it needed doing rather than nesting. i am a bit of a slattern

T2M · 01/03/2008 18:12

Lulumama · 01/03/2008 18:15

AnguaVonUberwald · 01/03/2008 18:19

Belago - LOL - thats exactly how I felt, really glad its not just me!!

Mumofmonsters/Peachy what news?

No news here, the antibiotics seem to be working, no more cramping today.

Apparently babies head is right down now, but he may have moved back to back (after weeks of being in a good position) Although I am not convinced.

Just waiting again!!! DH keeps saying, but we want him to get bigger - NO we don't I say, he's plenty big enough for something that has to come out through me.

in a way i am glad things have calmed for you Angua but in a way i am really gutted for you!

NO news here, Urso making me poo like a trooper (TMI sorry!) but the iron blocking me up so now having those stomach cramps as well as bump tightenings and all teh rest.

Have noticed less movements today. NOt in a need for reassurance kind of way, in a oh, this is what happens to my babies in the last few days kind of way. (did that make any sense?!)
AM so so uncomfortable and restless. When i stand its as if baby has something pointy and sharp resting on my pubic bone and i struggle to walk for a little bit

MerlinsBeard · 01/03/2008 21:03

actually, while this is a thread full of doulas......

I am highly likely to be induced next week (unless things actually get going), does the fact that my last 2 were VERY quick have any bearing on the speed and intensity of induced labour? DS1 was 3 hours from 3cms (i didn't know it was labour until then) and DS2 was 1 hour start to finish

Lulumama · 01/03/2008 21:34

well,if you labour that quick, then once things get going, it could well be that quick again..... depends on how ripe your cervix is etc.. as to how long it takes you to get into established labour

know a few women who;ve been induced around 38 weeks who've had fast labours and the induced ones been very quick too
