I have been having period like pains and backache since friday evening, last night I had an hour and a half of really intense contractions every few minutes, that suddenly stopped, had a few this morning as well, but now back to the period like pains and backache, how long could this go on for?

camillathechicken · 22/03/2008 10:17

fryalot · 22/03/2008 10:19

camillathechicken · 22/03/2008 10:22

you can buy them from that greasy spoon instead, you know...

fryalot · 22/03/2008 10:25

but then I'd have nothing to doooooooo

(I bought them from the greasy spoon on Wednesday and you lot didn't notice, did you )

merryberry · 22/03/2008 11:23

congratulations jammi!

Peachy · 22/03/2008 12:28

Congrats Jammi

HQ that sounds promising- hope it all gioes soon.

Whya re we dividing it up one a day- can't we all go tonight? Much fairer

Picked up my TENs from the post office this morning (borrowing sisters), but still haven't bopthered to put buggy together or retrieve carseat from back of bottomless under the stair cupboard. Everything- even the normal BH's- has completely stopped now, just the alien baby movements trying to find space in my uterus.

camillathechicken · 22/03/2008 12:29

ooh, peachy ! you still hanging on then?

are you set for your homebirth?

tis lulu, BTW

Peachy · 22/03/2008 12:44

More than hanging on Lulu, giving up more like LOL! (have ingested large amounts of rescue remedy though to retrieve equilibrium after severe PMT symptoms this morning).

Homebirth seems all set, when my oron wouldn't go up they just stopped testing it instead!!!! (Have started taking floradix as it seems easier to tolerate). Am actually wondering if iron is the problem- my levels with ds2 were normal and I had only one 'false labour' experience the day before he arrived, with ds3 my level was 9.5 and I had laods of pre-labour and went overdue, and my level is 10.2 now iirc.

nezelette · 22/03/2008 14:21

Well done Jammi!

I was starting to think this thread was cursed: "One post a day sends the midwife away" ?

It's snowing in London! I was born on a snowy day (OK, fair enough, it was in the French Alps in Nov so nothing that extraordinary there), so was my DP and all the boys in his immediate family (that was in Sussex, so a bit more unusual).
C'mon baby!!!!
C'mon babies!!!!!

HolidaysQueen · 22/03/2008 16:18

Hi all - I'm still here with nothing more exciting to report. Went for a walk in between hail showers, and been bouncing on my ball (which greatly amused toddler son of some friends who were visiting) which seems to have cleared out all the mucus (I hope!) but no twinges or anything else. I'm off for a nap now in the hope that I will be missing sleep soon so need to get it in now while I can

HolidaysQueen · 22/03/2008 16:19

Congratulations jammi!

camillathechicken · 22/03/2008 18:47

hope you have a good rest

peachy, don;t know about correlation with iron levels and prelabour/labour

would be interesting to know if anything to do with each other

AnguaVonUberwald · 22/03/2008 18:54

Congratulations Jammi, so pleased for you.

Have to report, despite today being MY DAY, nothing has happened at all.

in fact, appart from a couple of cramps this morning, everything seems to have stopped completely!!

It is now 9 days since I phoned the labour ward as I thought the baby was coming!!!!!

HQ, that sounds like a real proper show, I hope things get moving for you soon!

Come on babies!!!!!!!!!!!!

HolidaysQueen · 22/03/2008 22:41

Absolutely nothing, nada, zilch to report here. Apart from the devouring of many hot cross buns and Cadbury's mini eggs, that is. Sigh. I'm off to bed...
Night all

littleducks · 22/03/2008 22:42

So tired today and really fed up of blooming acid indigestion so decided to go back to my cervix monitoring (dont dare to resurrect the thread atm)
And it is def open! Would love to try a diy sweep but cant reach! Now all i need is some contractions but cant seem to get any, so i will have to sit and wait hopefully learning some patience along the way.

camillathechicken · 22/03/2008 22:42

sleep well, chick! get a good rest and let;s hope tomorrow is baby day !

camillathechicken · 22/03/2008 22:43

when you due Littleducks?

also, remember cervix is often 1 fingertip dilated after first birth, but a soft, anterior, thin cervix is what you wnat too!
