I have been having period like pains and backache since friday evening, last night I had an hour and a half of really intense contractions every few minutes, that suddenly stopped, had a few this morning as well, but now back to the period like pains and backache, how long could this go on for?

gah this is tedious, sorry ladies you dont mind if i jump in?

now one week overdue with baby no 4, the last two were 15 and 17 days late, when i went in and had my waters broken to start me off. REALLY dont want to have to do that this time, have been trying everything to get going, midwife did a sweep today and i am 'ripe' she can feel the babies head on the cervix and said it would have been possible to break my waters, but cant do that as i want a home birth.

accupuncture booked for tomorrow and lots of sex planned for tonight and tomorrow night (after i have watched ER tho )

but i just want this baby to turn up, lots of niggly back ache and period type pains but things just wont get going, exactly the same as the last two times

No news from me either - slight niggling backache, but thats really it.

MOM any news?

I can't belive no-one has had a baby yet!

hello 3mb, remind me how far overdue you are now? did you persuade folks to leave you alone for the other overdue baby then?

oh, this is the thread of inaction isn't it(apart from endless virtual eating)

Cheese scones, anyone?

Niggling as per usual over here. having some achy contractions. But they only ache up high on the bump, not low down, so i expect them to go to nothing.

turtle23 · 06/03/2008 19:39

Just popped in to lend support and share chocolate brownies. Come on girls! We need another baby and mine has gone all quiet and comfy.

spugs · 06/03/2008 20:09

mines gone all quiet on the bh front too!

Lulumama · 06/03/2008 20:10

well, no baby action, i;d best have a cheese scone...

Jaysthird · 06/03/2008 21:18

Nothing to report here, other than loads of massive, quite painful movements....i swear its hand just tried to get through my belly button, it was disgusting yet fascinating!

3madboys · 06/03/2008 21:34

jaysthird this one is like that, either it feels like its trying to poke its legs out of my side or a hand out of my minnie (((owhch)))

niggly back ache here and its 'thinking' about doing something..... going to watch ER and then have some 'fun' with dp,.....

i am a week overdue now merry, hospital ok with letting me go to day 14 then i will have a scan etc, midwife has said i can just hold on as long as i want and they are still happy to give me a home birth even once over 14days as all is well, which is reassuring

Jaysthird · 06/03/2008 21:41

i had some 'fun' last night, but it was just that...its so kinda clinical, 'doing it' for a reason, not just because you feel horny!! - well thats how i felt anyway!! I kept laughing, and DH kept asking if i was ok, and that the 'act' was ok....lol it was a bit like a carry on film.

  • thing was, DH was with me when the consultant did an external, and heard him say ' yup i can feel the babies head.....' Poor DH!!
3madboys · 06/03/2008 22:41

gah the virgin box has jsut died so i cant watch ER sob sob sob.

and dp has fallen asleep on the sofa i could wake him up nicely? bump is definitely tightening etc, and back aches but it doesnt HURT, i do wish it would just bloody well get going if its going to

and yes i think that tho sex would be nice it will feel a bit odd as the midwife today could feel the babies head on my cervix, not great for sexy thoughts.

also and this is a question i was wondering sexwise that it would be best surely if i was to orgasm AFTER dp rather than before cos then the sperm/prostin would be sucked up to the cervix etc more? and is it best to then do what you would do when trying to get preg, lay on your back with your legs in the air to help it stay in the right place? or should a shag just be enough on its on without anymore gymnastics?

Lulumama · 06/03/2008 22:42

you can lie with your legs in the air, if you like, and can be bothered.... and if you can orgasm after,so much the better.. also, orgasm can help stimulate contractions

best of luck!!

3madboys · 06/03/2008 22:44

wow that was a quick reply thanks, i shall go and see if i can wake dp up......

he seemed quite up for it earlier, if not i could always entertain myself if orgasms can help stimulate contractions, anything is worth a go.

Lulumama · 06/03/2008 22:45

bit of DIY won;t hurt

so... no babies yet, and another expectant mum? Is that right?

Anybody heard from MoM? Isn't she being induced today if nothing has happened?

I suspect she would have posted to let us know how she felt about going in today, so I'm thinking maybe things happened yesterday, and there is a new monster in town?

Jaysthird · 07/03/2008 09:04

Had a show, had a show, had a show, had a show!! and don't anyone dare say it still could go on for days......its the best bit of excitment/activity i have had... let me just enjoy the moment!!!!

spugs · 07/03/2008 10:25

mom is being induced today, so its a race between you and her jay though i suppose induction gives you a head start. were well over due some more march babies.

nothing going on here, few bhs here and there. feel like im going to get my period but ive never had that with my previous 2 labours so i reckon stuffs just been stretched a lot more then its used to.

good luck to mom and jay x

fitnfortyone · 07/03/2008 11:51

ooh, MOM and Jays3rd on the same day? Hopefully that will put the boot up the rest of us!

Out of curiosity, can you OD on raspberry leaf tea? Been wondering if too much of that gave me raised bp!

merryberry · 07/03/2008 11:58

too much makes me sicky and i have to lie down, fitn41
