I have been having period like pains and backache since friday evening, last night I had an hour and a half of really intense contractions every few minutes, that suddenly stopped, had a few this morning as well, but now back to the period like pains and backache, how long could this go on for?

Peachy-TMI alertI am having very similar experience re BH and diarrhea. Can't work out if that's what's causing it or if BH are result of. Also have sample finally coming back today from lab as this has been going on for 12 days. Ow. Has now also given me piles from sheer frequency.

VictorianSqualor · 05/03/2008 11:05

Peachy I haven't had diarrohea, but considering I don't think I had a number 2 for the first 8months I'm making up for it now, have windy type back/tummyache almost constantly too.

Lulumama · 05/03/2008 11:21

if a tummy upset can trigger contractions, then maybe contractions can trigger an upset tummy, peachy!

7.5 lbs is not exactly a tiny baby now, is it?

presentaion scan only done if there is doubt about the lie, i.e if been unstable or trasnverse, not usually if been head down all the way?? maybe it is an excuse to look more at the growth?? dunno

off out now, so catch up later x

MerlinsBeard · 05/03/2008 11:25

i'm not in labour but i finally have some news!

Saw specialist consultant who said that there was a grey area with OC after 38 weeks as to what the actual risk to baby were. They said that they wouldn't let me go over dates and asked what i thought. I told her about some guidelines i had read about (thank you MN) that didn't prove either way and i would rather baby was here now so i could a) stop worrying and b) stop itching. She gave me a sweep there and then, said my cervix is very favourable-even remarked that she could insert 2 fingers...I'm not sure how to take that . bishops score is 8 and booked in for induction on friday if things don't get going.

fryalot · 05/03/2008 11:48

so, Friday for definite, MOM? excellent

Peachy · 05/03/2008 11:51

LUlu- LOl not small at all, but my worry really is that ds1 lost 1lb at this stage after placenta failed, with other effects, and it could happen again I guess... Dh puts it down to having Uni still running.

Baby definitely head down- wonder why they are scanning then? weird

AnguaVonUberwald · 05/03/2008 11:55

Mumofmonsters, that sounds very promising!!! You could be our first baby!!!

I also have the diarrhea, is this just something you gets it goes towards delivery?

Tried Sex seems to have done nothing at all!!!

Feeling sick today and headachy, so cancelled plans and staying at home being lazy.

ooh, sounds great MoM.
am going for reflexology, hope i don't giggle like a baby thru it all.

MW this also prescribed 'having fun'.
I agree.
And have decided that fun = shopping, for me at the moment. Not sociable enough for mates.

MerlinsBeard · 05/03/2008 13:37

ow! got back ache

just read thru my notes in a less excited way and i am 3cm apparently!! I may not need the appt friday!

fitnfortyone · 05/03/2008 13:57

yay mom!

Haven't been watching straightforward comedies, but am currently singing along to the dvd of Little shop of Horrors...LO seems to be enjoying it too or maybe he's just irritated by my singing Have lined up a bunch of chickflick and other favourite dvds now to catch up on and hope i don't have time to sit through them all before Lo puts in an appearance!

Icecream and popcorn anyone?

Lulumama · 05/03/2008 14:07

bishops score of 8 is brilliant, you might not even need inducing, and if you do, it won;t take much, probably need to break your waters to start you ...

peachy... if there is an issue about the growth then that certainly needs looking at, but 7.5 pounds is a good weight for not even term!

go with an open mind

MerlinsBeard · 05/03/2008 16:17

thats what the Dr said lulu. ALthough by my backache that has not gone and the fact that i am having a different kind of pain in front, i am not so sure i will need it! My mum is on standby and i have towels and pampers mats strategically placed

ds1s lunch for 2mo is ready, baby corner is sorted(it was previously a heap of baby stuff!)

nothing reguilar yet but i am trying NOT to get things just yet as DP is squeezing all his students in to today so we still make some money this week!!

tori32 · 05/03/2008 16:30

Just hopped across to say yay MOM! Looking forward to your news

Peachy · 05/03/2008 19:19

Won't copy and paste but for Lulu here is why I get paranoid about weight issues and whether its a case of ds1 all over again!

Nobody else to read as its not a good birth story and nobody here needs to read it atm

fryalot · 06/03/2008 08:07

anyone got any news this morning?

merryberry · 06/03/2008 08:35

40+4, groundhog day for me. with added tantruming toddler.

Jaysthird · 06/03/2008 08:50

Well seeing as though i have managed to 'jiggle' my dates ( thus avoiding and early induction) i am now 40+5 rather than 40+10. i too have a tantruming toddler Merry, coupled with a teething 11month old!!!
Can i have brown sauce with a bacon buttie please!!

Lulumama · 06/03/2008 08:55

peachy, in that case a growth scan/blood flow doppler scan would be good , if for reassurance if nothing else .

good monring to everyone, hope everyone got some sleep

fitnfortyone · 06/03/2008 09:20
