Hello folks,

40+12 today. Third pregnancy but first baby. We don’t know the gender. Five years in the making with iui, icsi, ivf and finally donated eggs and sperm. Looooong story.

Was all set for home birth despite being 41 and having GD but my very comfy baby is not interested in being evicted.

I was ok waiting- it’s been an easy pregnancy but we just don’t want to put baby at any risk. So here we are. Told to come in at 8am. 11am tried a sweep but I am sealed like an Egyptian tomb. Just back from curry and walk and waiting for pessary. Join me for the fun!??!

Following as I am due to be induced tomorrow locally to you

Angliski · 18/01/2020 09:30

Morning. Here is the news.

New midwife - Italian, pregnant, lovely and very alternative - spinning babies, aromatherapy, offered me a bath etc. Feel very positive about having her around.

Hopeful today might be the day. I think it will be! Revised sweepstake is open! Glad of the company thanks everyone and good luck for other inductees @CloudyVanilla any news?

Didn’t sleep much. In quite a bit of discomfort with contractions quite fast And sore from 6 this morning.

Anna has run me a bath in the birth pool. I cried with relief when I got in! Look!

What a fabulous thread! With you in spirit OP - very much reminds me of my first birth, induced, 25 years ago!

For you Thanks

Blahblahblahnanana · 18/01/2020 10:04

@Angliski try hand expressing whilst in the pool. Try a warm compress and massage before doing it, you’ll only get a few drops it’s normal as colostrum is thicker than mature breast milk, and work around each breast in a clock face fashion, once the drops stop coming from that particular milk duct move round the breast like a clock face.

Remember once the pessary is out you can decline vaginal exams, and if your in the pool they’re less likely to examine you if things look like they’re progressing. Good luck and hope things progress quickly now

Been checking in OP and am feeling for you. Glad you feel positive about your new midwife and I really hope today is the day for you! Keep the updates coming!

StartupRepair · 18/01/2020 11:06

Good luck OP! Hope baby comes soon and smoothly.

Blackbear19 · 18/01/2020 12:05

Hope you are doing well. Birthpools are amazing.

Tallilah · 18/01/2020 12:25

Hehe I went in that pool !

All my luck !!

flissity · 18/01/2020 12:32

Best of luck with your induction! I had one, it did take ages before it kicked in. Your room looks lovely :)

Dyra · 18/01/2020 13:40

Good luck with everything! I was induced with my little girl. Pessaries did virtually nothing, as did the waters being artificially broken. The drip did all the hard work in the end.

Baby girl, 8lb 1oz, 19:35 tonight.

BecauseReasons · 18/01/2020 13:56

Good luck, OP!

Afrigginggoat · 18/01/2020 16:46

Hmmm six hours since an update. Looks promising.....

Spam88 · 18/01/2020 17:09

I was thinking the same 🤞

Vixx3n · 18/01/2020 17:54

Good luck Smile

Blackbear19 · 18/01/2020 19:37

Any news ???

PixieDustt · 18/01/2020 21:58

Agree, it's been a while since an update! 👶🏼

namechangingtime · 18/01/2020 22:18

Really hoping the delay in updates means the next one is a picture of the baby 🤞🤞

Blackbear19 · 18/01/2020 22:56

Yip I'm thinking a wee squishy baby is here. I hope mum and baby are both doing well.

CloudyVanilla · 18/01/2020 23:12

Hope you are doing well OP and that you're now having lovely newborn cuddles Halo

Prostin did not work for me and they're not keen to give a third; due to water and unstable lie the new plan is to give me a stabilising induction in theatre tomorrow morning! So as long as nothing dire happens I should be meeting baby at some point tomorrow.

Can't wait to see pics of your bundle Grin

BlackOfHeart · 18/01/2020 23:19

Good luck!

Grandmi · 18/01/2020 23:42

My daughter was induced at the Sussex County in Brighton and the care there was absolutely faultless..an amazing team . The views from level thirteen were fabulous. Her community widwife Dawn came in and delivered on her day off . Hope you have the best experience. My granddaughter is now 6 weeks ...good luck 💐

Pieceofpurplesky · 19/01/2020 00:42

It's all very exciting! Good luck OP

Blackbear19 · 19/01/2020 06:37
