my first was 21hours. i was 15 years old .
i had an epidural, pethidine, gas and air, episiotomy, failed vontuese and forceps. she was 8lb 61/2 oz . absolute nightmare but i have gone on to have 2 more lovely little girls so it abviously wasnt that bad !!!

sweetbean · 04/02/2006 17:50

Mine was 20 hrs i only had gas and air right in the last momemts as i only got to hospital 20 mins before she arrived as the nurses on the phone kept telling me that i would be ages before she arrived as they had seen me at 11.00 pm and i was not dilated at all then within 4 hrs my waters had broken and i was pushing her out in the car on the way to the hospital whiles my dh did ???? mph to get me there!!

I all seams a good laugh looking back on it xx

25 hours from waters breaking, very slow to start with.

calvemjoe · 04/02/2006 18:40

pookey · 04/02/2006 18:54

another unspeakable 3 days here, gave up on thinking this time tomorrow I will have a a baby ...

philippat · 04/02/2006 19:38

6 hrs from show to baby in my arms

sunshinebaby · 04/02/2006 20:16

48h22mns.....From the 1st bit of contraction to the end!!!!I was going to be induce (baby was 12 days overdue).. went for reflexology the day before beeing induced and the contractions started. We have a very healthy baby despite the long labour but at the end of it, it is all worth it!!! Don't worry once your beautiful little one is in your arms, the pain and labour will be the last thing in your mind (only a great story to tell)!!!!

laurenholly · 04/02/2006 22:08

with my dd1 i was having pains all day thursday but the midwifes said it was the stuff they use to start you off with but the night came still getting pains so at 2am the midwife checked me and i was 4cm from then on i was pushing for about 6hours she kept coming down then slipping back up so in the end had to be delivered by a vontouse
but dd2 pains started at 6pm and then she was born at 8.59pm so she was really quick and in that 3hrs i was stitting in day room with family and had a bath i was pushing for about 20mins then out she came

rabbitt · 04/02/2006 22:47

mine was about 19 hours from waking up to water having broken. worth every second for the end result !!!

Babydaze · 04/02/2006 23:44

Had a show week before due. Next day waters broke. Ended up spending next 6 days in hospital waiting to go into labour. Finally went into labour naturally. Labour lasted 28 hours & DS arrived on his due date!

rainbow75 · 05/02/2006 14:58

4 hours

funnygirl · 05/02/2006 15:21

Had mild pains at 2.00am and midwife told me I wasnt in labour and to have a bath. At 2.30am in bath with slight discumfort and at 2.45am couldnt get out of bath due to contractions. Another Midwife took me to labour ward and they examined me there at 3.00am to find I was 8cm. Baby born at 5.02am. Lucky I was in hospital or else she would have been born in an ambulance or in the house!

sukie79 · 05/02/2006 18:29

17hrs from first contraction - but it was speeded up because he had the cord round his neck, so had forceps delivery.

veuveclicquot · 20/02/2006 00:52

32 hours. Would have been longer but they used forceps and ventouse and dragged DD out.

Alipiggie · 20/02/2006 03:03

4 hrs 15 mins - induced

fruitful · 20/02/2006 13:41

Baby number 1: 0 minutes. It says so on my notes, I love that they filled that in.

Baby number 2: my first labour - 45 minutes from when they said "oh no you're in labour" to when they pulled him out of my tummy. . Do I win the shortest? Probably not, haven't read the thread. Bet there is someone who managed a vaginal birth in half an hour...

Next baby - hmm shall I have a vba2c? nope, methinks it will be nought minutes again!
