Hello, I'm due on the 17th Smile And yes...already very fed up. Had ds1 at 34wks EMCS, ds2 at 40+4 VBAC. Did expect to have had baby by now as have been having loads of pre-labour stuff going on for last 3 wks. How old is your dc?

TettyLouBar · 16/01/2011 08:49

DD is 2y.7mo, she's very excited about it all. I know we'll have the babies very soon but the days don't have drag eh?
Ive had braxton hicks since the late 30's weeks which is what happened last time. She's engaged and has been flitting between the right and left side for a few weeks, occasionally OP. (DD was OP birth - shudder)
Just forgot how frustrating this bit gets.

My family are understanding and have pretty much left me alone knowing I'll contact them when something happens - live quite far away. But the in-laws love to phone regularly and check whether we've had progress - as if I wouldn't tell them!?! Angry I HATE the phone calls. Sad

I'm due on Tuesday with my first. I've been having pre-labour symptoms for 3 weeks so while I'm not that fed up of being pregnant I am fed up of being teased!

blanchedevereaux · 16/01/2011 12:47

I'm due today with DC2. First was 15 days overdue but I have just ground to a halt the past couple of days and want this one out!

My DD1 is 26 months and not impressed with me sitting on sofa looking glum.

Had a 2 mile walk yesterday and hot curry last night but not a twinge so far. No way on earth I am having sex I'm afraid.

CardyMow · 16/01/2011 14:04

I'm due today with dc4. DD was born at 34+5 (induced due to pre-eclampsia), DS1 was born at 40 weeks (induced due to hyperemesis), and DS2 was born at 40+2 (induced due to hyperemesis).

Hospital are short-staffed, and are refusing to even book me an induction date until I'm 41+1, and have told me it could be up to 8 days after that before they have a space for me. By which point I will be over 42 weeks.

I'm fat and fed up. I am having no signs at all of labour being imminent. PAH!

TettyLouBar · 16/01/2011 15:24

well ladies, Ive well and truly nested for the past few days and by doing so have attempted to shake the baby loose! Hooovering both floors, mopping, damp dusting, bleaching (with gloves!), cleaning, arranging and sorting.

Nowt, Nada, Nothing, not a sausage! Sad

I suppose theres still tonight!

mamasunshine · 16/01/2011 15:41

Ds1 is 2.10 and ds2 is 19months, so have loved this weekend with dh being at home to help Smile We've done the hot curries, reflexology, raspberry leaf tea, sex most days (not pleasant at the moment [shudder!]), and went out for a big walk this am. Have had ALL the pre-labour signs for so long, and have continued to have back pain/period pains and BH's on and off all day again. Also loads of pressure and pains on cervix. Had back-to-back labour last time, vvvvlong and ouch. This time baby's in a a good position so hoping the labour will be a bit quicker than last time Hmm

I'm torn between feeling desperate to not be pregnant now and remembering that I've still got to go through the actual labour Confused Also getting fed up with people phoning to ask if any progress, as if we wouldn't tell parents that we'd had the baby Grin!! Hope you're all having a good weekend with lots of distractions? Need to plan something to do tomorrow!

TettyLouBar · 16/01/2011 18:51

Oh Mamasunshine, you've just described my feelings about the whole thing down to a T!

I'm trying to enjoy the last few days of being preggers as we don't think we want anymore!

Phonecalls are driving me crazy and they haven't even started properly yet I just know it!

I too, had a very long back 2 back birth with DD and this time around have spent a long time each evening on my knees trying to keep bubba in right place.

Ive had lots of strange pains I think baby is causing a lot of them by moving quite violently around. Some of them feel like she's trying to puch her way out! Hmm

I tried a curry last week and that was brought back up during night as I had vomiting virus! Sad

Sex if off menu, dont fancy that at all Hmm

Been drinking the tea and trying to do lots of walks but I just get loads of BH and nothing else!

Its the waiting game now.....

blanchedevereaux · 16/01/2011 19:53

So, so bored with it. Dreading DH going back to work tomorrow and having DD1 to keep amused by myself all day. I just want to stay in bed but swimming lessons call (maybe that will get things going).

This is my last pregnancy so, yes, I should be enjoying it, but, to be honest, it's uncomfortable, painful and too tiring now to remember the good bits anymore!

I got stuck in the bath last night and then DD1 woke 3 times with nightmares during the night so I was up and down or wide awake while DH went in to her. Going to bed as soon as she settles tonight.

Sending labour vibes to you all.

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 16/01/2011 20:48

I'm not due today but at the end of the month and I am so over being pregnant! I'm trying to get DS to have more feeds as it trigggers off BH for me and I'm hoping it might trigger some real contractions. I flit between been terrified of the impending birth and wanting so desperately for it all to be over and have my little girl in my arms. DS was an OP labour last time ending in an EMCS so it can't be as bad this time, can it?

mamasunshine · 16/01/2011 22:58

Exactly what I'm thinking thebreastmilks! I had EMCS with 1st, followed by back to back, long painful with 2nd, but EMCS recovery far worse in my own experience. So also hoping that it can't be worse Confused Think anxiousness is another sign of impending labour? Clinging onto straws!!

blanche - also been having sleepness nights with youngest, maybe they sense something?

tetty - Baby was lying towards my back on right side at 36 wks, and since then I've only been sitting v straight, lying/sleeping on left side, on all fours, bouncing on ball etc Grin It's hard work never really just lounging back, but it's keeping her in a good position now!

3 pregnancies in 3 years has put me off ever wanting to do it again! Can't wait to be able to enjoy my little family and watch them grow together, knowing that this is it Smile

My 2 are at nursery tomorrow (normally a work day), so going to try and book some reflexology, have a good walk and get some rest. Oh and it's a full moon on Weds, so you never know Wink Grin We may get a bit of a live labour thread going!!

TettyLouBar · 17/01/2011 09:03

Blanche I had an awful night last night. Baby was trying to push its way out I SWEAR! DH offered to take the monitor and sleep in the spare room.....
well.... I could hear DD crying and went in to her 5 times during night - I too think she can sense something. DH was (excuse the expression) about as useful as tits on a fish! Angry
He sleeps through her crying with the monitor on FULL and I'm in the room on my own with no monitor and always hear her! Sad
When he DID wake, he was really shitty at being woken up and had no patience for her whatsoever.
I politely suggested that he and DD have to "bond" over the next few days as when Bubba here I will NOT be running in to her every 5 mins as I'll be BF. Wink

Baby was actually hurting me with the movements she was making last night - every time I nearly dropped off, DD1 woke and I went into her and in the process the baby woke up and started moving around again, this went on til gone 3am. Sad

Roll on labour!

OP posts:
blanchedevereaux · 17/01/2011 09:34

TettyLouBar, sounds like we have the same DH. Mine sleeps like the dead and I hear everything while he snores away. When my DD1 was small I remember suggesting her went into her rather than me for the 50th time that night and he told me to "bugger off, I'm tired!".

He swears he was asleep and doesn't remember it (tbh, he is usually the politest person I know) but he is lucky he didn't get stabbed that night.

My bump is quite quiet atm, either that or I am sleeping a bit better now it has engaged.

Enjoy your day, Mamasunshine, wee one and I are off swimming this morning and hoping for a (rare) afternoon nap later.

anonMum2 · 17/01/2011 09:38

Only 37 weeks but feeling very big and fed up, loads of BH and constantly in pain from the sensation of baby trying to push it's way out. None of these when pregnant with DS so I keep thinking something must be happening! But unfortunately no.. nothing. Reading all the posts have made me realise they don't mean anything. :(

I know I've still got 3 weeks to go but last time was late and had an awful induction, labour and horrible c-section so hoping that baby will arrive slightly earlier this time around 39 weeks, naturally.

Tetty, DH is completely useless too. But strangely he's been really good with DS the last week when DS has been unusually waking up around 3 times a night. DH knows I'm getting a lot of pain(hoping for labour sooooon!), and baby movement pain so that may be why.

Anyway, good luck all! :)

CardyMow · 17/01/2011 09:51

Overdue now. Not happy. No signs of labour. Am exceedingly grumpy with everyone. Have DS1 off school ill with a tummy bug (I've already had it). Have to go out later and pick DS2 up from school as DP will be at work. DP is on a late shift too, which means cooking dinner for the 3 dc's with no help when I can't even bend down to get in and out of the oven.

Any signs for you, Tetty?

mamasunshine · 17/01/2011 10:25

Another one with dh who NEVER wakes at night when baby/toddler does Hmm I've actually had to kick him a couple of times recently when I've just been too tired to get up and see to them. Then it ends up in a midnight row!

blanche - hope the swimming starts something for you...I haven't been for ages, would quite fancy bobbing up and down in the pool now Smile Although I know that's not the case when taking a toddler Grin

anonmum2 - sorry you had a bad experience last time, I had a v bad 1st birth, but 2nd time was quite amazing really. Unfortunately I've been having all the signs since 37 wks, so try and keep yourself busy!

loudlass - sounds very tough for you today Hope you manage to get some rest.

Reflexology booked for lunch time, and will walk briskly there and back. No appointments left to see midwife this week, so going to have to phone her on mobile soon and see if she can fit me in somewhere else. What is everyone doing about sweeps? Yes/no, what gestation? Really thought I'd have had baby by now, so gutted I have to phone her. Ah well!

anonMum2 · 17/01/2011 10:40

Very envious re. swimming! Would love to go but avoiding it because I haven't had the flu jab. Daft, isn't it? Received letter from surgery last week and thinking it's far too close to my due date. Not good seeing as I always suffer from side effects after vaccination. Goodness knows why they left it so late plus kicking myself for not asking for it earlier.

Mamasunshine, do you happen to have a post or blog for your second vbac birth? It would be nice to read something good and keep thinking positive.

CardyMow · 17/01/2011 11:32

MW has said she'll give me a sweep on Wednesday when I'll be 40+3. But then I've been induced with all 3 of my other dc's, and fully expect to have to be this time too, so I think she's doing it a bit earlier than they normally would, from what I've seen they don't normally offer a sweep until 41 weeks.

anonMum2 - I had my flu jab on the 22nd December, I would have been 36+3. I was told that it's still important to have it no matter how far along you are. I normally get side effects from my flu jab (have one anyway as I'm asthmatic), but this one all I had was a sore arm for 24 hrs afterwards. HTH.

TettyLouBar · 17/01/2011 14:25

Loudlass no more signs Sad Just feeling sooo tired after last nights ordeal. DH rang from work to see if I was ok and said he would take the monitor every night from now on and sleep in other room (had to stifle a laugh as this is what he did last night and I STILL got up 5 times to DD as he ignored didn't hear her)

I was supposed to have a sweep on 40+4 (thursday) but midwife forgot she has a meeting thursday. (pissed off as she is very scatty and forgetful and I wish she had mentioned it wouldn't be thursday last week as Ive been focusing on it!)
SOOO, she has redeemed herself slightly by giving me her mobile number so I can ring her direct on Friday morning instead of bleeping on call and leaving a message, if I'm still preggers to request a sweep but it probably won't happen until friday afternoon now (40+5)
I don't hold much hope that it will do sod all but there we are! Confused

To top it all off, Grandfather-in-law has rung every night for 4 days running to see if anything's happening!!!
AS IF I WOULD SAY "why yes, I'm contracting as we speak"
Why can't he just wait til I'm done and dusted and we call to say he has another great grand child!! arrgghhhh! Angry

There, rant over Smile

OP posts:
blanchedevereaux · 17/01/2011 15:14

I'm not due a sweep until 40+7 and then induction will be booked for 40+12.

Swimming hasn't really set anything in motion, I was lucky to get back out the pool!

mamasunshine · 18/01/2011 10:26

anonmm - nothing in particular, however if you search my name from 01/06/09-01/01/10 there's quite a few posts from me on other threads with my experience. It was a homebirth VBAC and was a really 'healing' experience for me.
I also had flu jab and didn't get more than 24hrs of feeling a bit under the weather.

Anything happening with anyone?! Nothing here Sad 40+1 today, labour had started last time (didn't actually have him til 40+4!) So big walk, out for lunch and a group, and then I suppose more sex Hmm poor, poor dh Grin

TettyLouBar · 18/01/2011 11:36

mamasunshine I'm feeling nauseous today but not sure what it means if anything (40+2) Sad
I admire the fact that your still doing the whole sex thing at all! Hmm DH is definately not up for it and I admit neither am I.

Ok, now I have back ache. please let this be something! Smile

OP posts:
blanchedevereaux · 18/01/2011 12:56

Tetty sending you positive vibes! Nothing to report here. I had about 10 mins of cramps this morning and that was it.

Had a curry for lunch and now bouncing on ball. I think a roll in the hay will be on the agenda for tonight.

TettyLouBar · 18/01/2011 15:26

Blanche nothing more to report since back ache earlier. Sad But hoping that it might signify things will kick off on their own. I really don't want to have a sweep on friday but will take what I can get if I reach friday and nothings happened! Grin

Good luck with the curry....I had one last weekend and it was lovely...then I saw it again at 6am following morning...vomiting bug strikes again! blurgh
