Morning all.

Mamasunshine The labour was sooooooo different with her not being back to back. I coped with the contractions so much better and they felt different.
Inbetween them I was relatively comfortable and could walk and move and change position. But when I was having DD1 and she was B2B, the pain was constant, very severe back ache all the time and no position was comfortable.

It was a pain in the neck spending so much time on my knees watching tv and bent over the foot stool or bouncing on a ball. Didnt sit reclined AT ALL for the last 4 weeks of pg but it was sooo worth it.

babywants what an ordeal you had?!? You poor thing. That must have been so strange getting to the MLU only to discover it's a false alarm! Hope your ok now? Any developments?

Anonmum My show with DD1 came away in one big lump and I just noticed it before I flushed the loo! Confused total surprise!
With DD2 I had a sweep and then that afternoon I started to see lumps after visits to the loo and it happened every day for about 4-5 days before and then labour started.
Not sure whether sweep dislodged it prematurely.
Have you had anything yet? I do hope so Grin

johnny any news from your neck of the womb woods? Smile
Hope things are progressing?

Blanche DD1 is now starting to realise that mummy isn't available for attention, hugs, play as much as before. She's beginning to get a little serious now Sad I hope she can relax and enjoy her newbie sister. Hmm

Please come give me some lovely baby news?!? Wink

Congrats tetty! Sounds like a good birth! Any pics?

Come on ladies, I feel your pain as I thought with dd1 I would be pregnant for ever. shouldn't be long now, get rested, I am like a zombie!

Had the blues yesterday so lots of tears. I was like that first time too and I actually feel better for a good wail! DD1 doing well but I feel guilty for ruining our pfb moments. Irrational, I know, but she isn't as keen on mummy not being available at a moments notice.

Apart from that, got my head down early last night so feeling a bit more rested. Midwife came for guthrie test and Abigail has put on 1oz!

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 29/01/2011 10:22

Hello all! Congratulations to tetty!

I have been up since 2am with 'contractions' coming every 6-15mins and lasting between 20 and 45 seconds. Feel quite sore down there and twingy and baby is wriggling like mad! They seemed to have tailed off a bit now though. Actually just had another one that was quite ouchy! So definately in early labour! DS has gone to my MIL for the day and DP has popped into work so I think I'll go back to bed and try and catch up on some sleep although lying down and resting seems to make them come more painful and regular. No show yet!

TettyLouBar · 29/01/2011 11:37

ooohhh! breastmilk that all sounds like this could be it!
you sound like your having similar start to what I did! I had much more intense, long and more regular contractions when lying down the night I went into labour.
as soon as I moved around or walked or stood they got shorter and irregular.
I mistook this that I wasn't really in labour that night(around 11pm) but DD was born 6 hours later! [shocked]

Good Luck! keep us posted! Grin

Hi ladies! Sorry for radio silence. Just out of hopsital yesterday. Lucy Claire born at 12.30am on Wednesday 26/1. Tetty, a good day for us both!! Congrats on your new bundle. Hope you're settling in ok.

I also think it was the sweep that did it although I was convinced that the contractions I was having would come to nothing on Tuesday night. BOunced on the ball watching TV all night. By the end of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding I knew it was the real deal!

Went into hospital at 11.30pm, Lucy born at 12.30am!! Grin. I did NOT expect it to be soooo fast. Born in pool which was a fantastic experience - so chilled out. Brilliant labour and a beautiful 8lb 9oz baby Grin Grin.

thanks so much for your chat over the last few weeks. Somedays it was all that kept me going. Hurrah for mumsnet!

Good luck to the rest of you still waiting. Hopefully it won't be long xx

TettyLouBar · 29/01/2011 13:10

Congratulations claire - another quick labour!!! Smile

Hello Grin Another baby here Smile Just back from hospital as blood pressure went up in early labour so decided to cancel the homebirth.

Baby Arabella born last night at 20:06hrs, weighing a huge 7lb15 (big for me!). Had early labour from 2am Friday morning then baby turned back-to-back, so was expecting a very long labour. Got into hospital at around 5pm was 4cm dilated, had her at 8pm Shock So my total labour from being established was 3hrs14mins Shock VERY different from last time! Was excruciating though think because it all happened sooooo quickly I wasn't prepared and kept saying I can't do this, give me an epidural...little did I know I was in transition Smile So in the end managed on gas and air, and she came out perfectly Smile She's gorgeous and has barely stopped feeding yet!

Was kept in overnight as had the high blood pressure and protein in urine, but all's started stabilising...thank goodness between my baby cring and everyone elses inbetween you stood no chance of recovering!

babywantscake · 29/01/2011 18:44

Hurrah, more babies! Congratulations claire and mamma - gorgeous names too. What big babies everyone seems to be having!
Glad to hear that everyone is well, recovering nicely and snuggling with their gorgeous babies.
I'm still pregnant :( boo hiss. Have now resigned myself to induction on Tuesday and cannot wait. DH taking me out for fancy-pants lunch tomorrow (early present as it's my birthday next week) to cheer me up as I'm fairly miserable. Only 3 more days to go!

clairemgill · 29/01/2011 19:53

Good luck baby. Make the most of your weekend and Tuesday will come before you know it! Looking forward to hearing your good news xx

johnnycomelurky · 29/01/2011 21:24

Another baby here, born at 6.43 this morning by ventouse after far too long. It's a boy and he weighs 8lb 7 oz. My waters went on Thurs night and I started contacting soon after but labour progressed slowly for lots of reasons so had to transfer from mlu to hospital at 2 am so didn't get my water birth but so glad all ok in end.
Congratulations to all-glad to hear so many good stories. Who's still waiting?

blanchedevereaux · 30/01/2011 13:48

Congrats to all! Hope you are enjoying your little scrumptious babies. I am tired but enjoying all the middle of the night cuddles.

DH has had to move to spare room to try and intercept DD1 from coming into me the moment she hears Abigail cry as she won't leave again and I end up with a newborn wanting milk and a 2 year old howling for "Mummy" in the bed.

Lots of girls and one boy so far. As Johnny says, who is left to pop?

anonMum2 · 30/01/2011 21:37

Wow! Congrats all!

I'm not really due yet so guess I'm not counted. Keep having strong BH though (didn't feel anything at all with my first) so hopefully something will happen soon. :)

blanchedevereaux · 31/01/2011 19:26

babywantscake, good luck for induction tomoorrow if you haven't given birth so far.

TettyLouBar · 31/01/2011 21:46

Good luck baby hope it all goes well Smile Very stressed here, Arabella has picked up my toddler's conjunctivitis and waiting to see the GP late this afternoon. Hope everyone's well?

blanchedevereaux · 02/02/2011 11:53

Mama, hope the docs appointment went well.

All well here and little chunky has put on 6oz since birth. She has been fussing at boob the past few days so just added a thread to the Breast and Bottle Feeding forum for advice as MW just told me to burp her more.

Got the Kari Me sling I used for DD1 out of the loft and I have rediscovered use of both my hands - wonderful!

TettyLouBar · 02/02/2011 16:28

Hello all,
Lowenna has just had her first weigh-in at a week old and has managed to put on an ounce and a half! little milk monster!
MW had noted that her belly button protrudes a little too much and has said that she may have a umbilical hernia?!? She's removed the clip but the scab has yet to fall off so until then we may not know what the verdict is.
Anyone have any experience in this area? Sad God I hope she doesn't have to have surgery, I would be beside myself Sad
