Well it sounds like we're all heading in the same direction, just very sloooowly. Blanche I was watching OBEM too. Last week when I watched it was the night before my due date and I was optimistic that I would be in their situation before long. How wrong could I be??

Back to MW this afternoon to book induction and probably have another sweep - lovely Hmm.

Am really struggling to get about today and am hoping thats a good sign...

Hope you all have a nice afternoon x

babywantscake · 25/01/2011 14:56

Hi ladies, can I join you? I was due on the 18th, but nothing much seems to be happening yet. I'm so frustrated! Baby's head still not engaged (first baby), so I'm off to see a consultant on Thursday and have an induction booked for the 1st. I have tried everything I can think of to get this baby's head down and kick-start labour, but nothing doing. Gah!

TettyLouBar · 25/01/2011 16:17

Welcome babywantscake Great name by the way.
Its very frustrating isn't it? I can't believe I'm 41+2 today. Sad Had another bit of show today, thats four days in a row somethings appeared. Surely that's significant?!?! Hmm

DH starting to get really crabby and moody now. I think it's bothering him more so than me in some ways! He feels totally useless and has become really unmotivated because we've just been hanging around the house soooo much.

Ive sent him out on little errands this morning while I had coffee with two mummy friends and "talked about vaginas" (His words, not mine Grin)

Soooo, what the hell do I do with him tomorrow? I can go back to work if I say I dont mind, he only works close by the house so maybe that would be the best idea. Bless him - anybody would think its him who has to give birth! LOL

Hi folks - welcome babywantscake, we share a (now outdated) due date!

Well, not long back from MW. Another sweep. Told I am now 4-5cms! FFS, why is this baby not coming out??

To top it off, I cannot get a date for induction until next Tues by which point I'll be 40+14. I really dont think I can take this much longer :(

TettyLouBar · 25/01/2011 18:25

Hi all,
Well MW just came and did a home visit. I was already cramping and getting very uncomfortable BH before she got here. Another sweep: I'm now 2cm, fully effaced.
Cramps are thick and fast after she was messing about in there but who knows whether it'll work or not?!?! Hmm

Hoping to at least get a few hours sleep tonight - here's hoping. Smile

Will let you know what happens Grin

Ooooh tetty I think this is it for you Grin Good luck, you'll be snuggling that baby Very soon, I just know it Grin How exciting!!!

TettyLouBar · 25/01/2011 20:08

Well I hope so mama, been twinging on and off since this morning but nothing really very harsh. But since MW was in there it's all going a bit serious here.
Had to ring my friend and warn her that DD might be with her at short notice tonight. Bouncing away on the ball, some of these cramps aren't messing around! Hmm

Please please please dont let it wear off when I go to bed! Grin

Sending you some of my vibes Mamasunshine! Will keep you posted Wink

How exciting tetty! Hopefully tonight will be the night.. after a few hours of rest obviously. :)

clairemgill · 25/01/2011 20:40

tetty I'm with you! Same going on here :) BUT, similar thing happened last Tuesday and it came to nothing :(

Am going to give it another half hour then call the labour ward. Since I was told that I'm 4-5 cms this afternoon I'm hoping they'll take pity on me and take me in and break my waters...
Fingers crossed for us both!

mamasunshine · 25/01/2011 22:41

Ooooh and claire too Grin 4/5cm's already Shock, it took me 2 days of regular contractions and complete agonising back to back labour to get that far last time (praying for different labour this time!)

Good luck both Smile could be a double whammy tonight then, finger's crossed!

I'm in yet another foul mood with dh, so hoping I don't go into labour tonight as I'm too cross! Found mould all over the wall behind wardrobe and in baby car seat etc etc (stuff inside it) I've asked dh to check everything was clean and ready to use etc for weeks. Then obviously wasn't expecting to find mould, so have spent the whole evening bleaching it all. I'm utterly wiped out and body feels broken, so going to go and get some rest now.

TettyLouBar · 26/01/2011 01:49

cons 4 mins apart, tens machine is a saviour. cant type much, on way in to labour ward now. Will let you all know what happens.
labour sooooo different to last time, much much better.

How exciting Tetty! Hoping you've had your baby by now. :)
Hoping that your contractions went somewhere as well Claire.
Very annoying about the car seat Mama. Maybe the cleaning will have kick-started something.... My DH is the opposite and so organised that we have had the car seat and pram in the car since I hit 37 weeks. It still freaks me out every time I see it!

Have woken up feeling very cheery this morning, so am going to take myself out for a good long walk and try to forget about my non-arriving baby!
Hoping that some of us finally dislodge these babies today.

mamasunshine · 26/01/2011 09:25

Great news tetty Smile Hope you are cuddled up in baby bliss by now Grin Nursery drop off then will be back!

blanchedevereaux · 26/01/2011 10:30

Great news Tetty. Hope it all has gone to plan and you are having some tea and toast! Love the fact you managed to post before leaving for hospital!

I feel this could be the day for some of you patient ladies!

All well here. Boobs like beach balls and DD1 is beginning to realise this noisy, mummy hugging thing isn't going away so she isn't in as positive a mood as she was. However, we are getting there.

mamasunshine · 26/01/2011 14:41

Oh your dh sounds great baby Smile I have to ask mine to do something everyday for 6months before it gets done (or I do it myself)!
Well I don't think I'm having this baby today...40+9, what is she doing in there Hmm Boys at nursery so having a restful day napping and eating! Midwife appointment tomorrow with another sweep which will hopefully have the affect it's had on tety Smile So I WILL have my baby snuggles by the weekend (surely?!!)

Car seat all cleaned and dry now, mould all gone, so I can relax about that...and I don't hate dh today Grin I took my frustration out on other drivers this morning instead Blush

mamasunshine · 26/01/2011 14:42

Hope your snuggling your baby too claire Smile ??

anonMum2 · 26/01/2011 16:23

wonder if tetty and claire are snuggling babies now? :)

mamasunshine, enjoy the rest of your 'day off'. I'm with toddler today and rest of the week now so big sigh. Good luck with the sweep. I've just booked mine for 40+7 after reading your post. Completely understand the rage, that's me the last few days.

blanche Abigail is absolutely gorgeous!

johnnycomelurky · 27/01/2011 11:19

Aw it's so good to hear some action! I had loads of cramping yesterday morning and a massive show with more all day long but no contractions. More intermittent cramping today and a few contractions but they're irregular and not painful. Going to head out for a walk I think, ball bouncing not working. mama hope you're getting somewhere today! baby I was also due on 18th with my first - hope we get to meet our little ones soon!

johnnycomelurky · 27/01/2011 11:22

Oh yeah and I feel nauseous and have cried everyday for the past 4 days. Really need labour to start soon.

mamasunshine · 27/01/2011 12:27

johnny - all sounds very good Grin Hope the walk keeps things going, although don't tire yourself out. Try and have a nap when you get back. I made the mistake through excitement of not trying to sleep/rest in early stages of labour with 1st labour...3 days later I actually had the baby! (not sure how as was utterly exhausted!)

40+10! Her stubborness is impressing me now! Nothing happening apart from usual cramps etc. I'm certain this sweep today is going to set things off and I'll be in labour later tonight Grin....please don't let me down sweep!! So MW app in an hr, have bathed boys and house is clean...all raedy for a new baby we think! Couldn't be more convenient tonight Smile

Hope everyone else is well, and those babies are are enjoying the snuggles on the outside!

TettyLouBar · 27/01/2011 12:55

Hi ALL! I'm back from hospital!
Baby Lowenna Grace was born 05:01am on wednesday 26/01!
I had cramps all day tuesday and then MW sweep at 17:00 was the final straw I think. I was already 2cm and fully effaced. And I think MW had a good rummage to make sure things were definately on the move!

well I starterd to get really big cramps/contractions around 21:00 and by 10:30 the tens went on. and it was telling me the contractions were 5 mins apart!! Didn't manage to sleep. Got to 3-4 mins apart by about 01:40am and rang the hospital. They said come in and we got there about 02:40 after dropping DD off at friends.

I was 5-6cm! bounced on ball for a bit, waters exploded at 03:30 narrowly missing DH's shoes!
Started pushing at around 03:50 and baby born 05:01!
Nearly had ventouse I think because despite pushing they felt that the contraction may have been a little inefficient, but as they went off to fetch Doc, my body took over and I had a massive contraction that I had now control over pushing through and there she was! Grin

8lb 15oz! (DD was 8lb 4oz so no surprise she's a chunk!) Smile

I decided to stay in last night and have cuddles and kisses with the newbie in peace, just got home about an hour ago and DD very impressed with her little sister.

Please tell me some news ladies - one of you must be labouring!?!?

Sending out lots of lovely vibes for newbie babies to join us! Wink

babywantscake · 27/01/2011 16:04

Congratulations tetty lovely news and fab that you're home already.

Hoping that mamma and johnny start labouring away soon.

I've had a very eventful 24 hours... After feeling odd all day yesterday, but strangely cheery and fidgety, I started getting quite regular cramps about 4 p.m. By 9 p.m. they were regular and very painful, but only about 30 secs long. They ramped up to once every 3 minutes, so I called the MLU who advised me to come in. Within minutes of arriving, contractions completely stopped and on examination they found that baby's head still not engaged and cervix 'unreachable' so sent me back home. I felt like a right wally!

Saw consultant this morning to check why baby's head not engaged, he couldn't find a reason but said he couldn't see baby arriving before Tuesday (induction day) as cervix closed etc. etc. However, an afternoon of stomping around the woods feeling very frustrated and I've had a show! It was the most grim thing I have ever seen in my life, but I'm taking it as a good sign....

Hoping to hear lots more baby news soon.

Happy labour vibes all round. x

mamasunshine · 27/01/2011 16:09

Sounds like a great birth tetty - huge congratulations Grin Well done! Gorgeous name Smile Was the labour much better than your last not being back to back?

Just had MW, not brilliant..no change from a week ago, apart from cervix harder to get to as was further back Sad. So soft, but no effacement yet, doesn't think as it is now that waters can be broken either. Also baby has turned back to back (I've been very lax with my posture etc the last week and I now really regret it!), so thinking thats the delay in her coming! So have just scrubbed kitchen floor, and will do it again in a bit! Have booked in for CTG monitoring on Mon when I'll be 40+14 and to formulate a what next plan Hmm So really need to get this baby to turn and start labour now...4nights to do it! Off to bounce on ball leaning over sofa Grin

Hope something's happening for you johnny

mamasunshine · 27/01/2011 16:11

Ooooh that sounds good baby - the show's pretty grotesque! How cons can possibly say won't be here by Tues is sure impossible? I would say that's a great sign Grin

anonMum2 · 27/01/2011 16:50

Congratulations, Tetty! 8lb 15oz Shock and what sounds to me like a pretty good birth. Well done!

mama, johnny and baby, crossing fingers really hard for you.

Quite curious about having 'a show' now. Grin
