Well Ive just had a show this morning. Not sure how significant it is as I had the sweep 2 mornings ago which could have dislodged it prematurely I suppose?

No twinges though. Hmm

Anybody else have news? Smile

blanche - Hope your recovery is quick Smile
claire - that must have been worrying, these cheeky babies Smile
tetty - I've had a bigger show this morning but no twinges either. In a foul and emotional mood though, think going to get some fresh air and a walk and cheer myself up! Can't cope with the limbo of everything Hmm 40+6...

TettyLouBar · 23/01/2011 10:58

mama DH is taking me out for Sunday lunch today and I AM going to enjoy myself and forget about the pregnancy...40+7, I never would have predicted that!

DH is gutted as he assumed when he finished work last week that he wouldn't be going back in on Monday morning! Sad Never mind.

claire that little monkey was trying to freak you out! Its so worrying at the time isn't it! I must admit I don't pay attention to the movements as much as I should I suppose. Hmm

Blanche How goes the newbie? I bet she's gorgeous Grin

Sorry I've not been on for a while...I 'lost' this thread. I ended up on children's ward overnight on Wed/Thurs last week with DS1 (8yo) as he had been throwing up for 5 days by that point, even water. He had viral gastritis, and had to go on a drip to be rehydrated. He's fine now, but as I was meant to be having my sweep on Wednesday, I had to turn it down as I needed to be with DS1.

DS1 is fully recovered now thankfully, and eating me out of house and home!

I also ended up going in to be monitored on friday night as I hadn't felt baby move for 5 hrs, but baby was fine, so they sent me home. I am having 'mild measurable contractions', that showed on the monitor, but they couldn't/wouldn't induce me because they were over-full (no free delivery rooms).

So I'm back at home, having very irregular mild contractions, am currently 41 weeks today, which is more pregnant than I've ever been before. I see my consultant tomorrow, and they will give me a sweep then, and also book an induction date. TBH I wish they'd just induce me, I've had to be induced with all 3 of my other dc, so I don't see how it'll be any different this time.

Congratulations Blanche! But am a little Envy that you have your new baby to snuggle with!

TettyLouBar · 23/01/2011 14:48

Poor you Loudlass, I feel for you having had to contend with all that while your so heavily pregnant! DD has had vomiting virus twice in last few months, I had it too and then DH!

I work in the hospital setting and have never ever been effected by Diarrhoea and vomiting before but have had it twice during this pregnancy which I assume is down to a change in my immunity system?!?

Anyway, I too am a week over today. I don't have any twinges but the BH are strong and I seem to get loads in the evenings. Not sure whether that is significant.

Anyway, hope your sweep proves fruitful. Keep us posted! Grin

tetty - another dh gutted has to go back to work AGAIN tomorrow! Hope you had a nice lunch out Smile
loudlass - what a week you've had Shock Glad ds1 is ok now. Good luck for the sweep and hope it has the desired effect Grin

Lots of twinges...still Hmm so assuming cervix is going to be all ready for action when I finally go into labour And it won't be another 3 day marathon! Really, really wanting it to happen tonight. Dh back at work tomorrow, and ds's at nursery as it's usually when I work...have no idea what I will do with the whole day if I'm not in labour?!!

surely 1 of the babies MUST be ready to come tonight?!! Grin

clairemgill · 23/01/2011 16:57

Hi all. What dramas between us all! I'm hitting the raspberry leaf tea tonight and may need to be extra nice to DH too if you know what I mean Blush.
Take care all x

TettyLouBar · 23/01/2011 20:21

Still here! nothing to report! No twinges!
I'm hoping tonight I'll wake up with a massive contraction or my waters going and it'll be in full swing! Hmm I wish!
Sending out labour vibes to you all!
And yummy mummy vibes to you Blanche! Grin

Got home this morning. Went straight to a 3rd birthday party, not the same as first time!

Abigail is very hungry so hope my milk proper is here soon. DD1 being very helpful.

Hope u all see something soon. I know how frustrating it is with dd1 being 15 days late. Thinking of you all.

X

TettyLouBar · 24/01/2011 07:51

Thanks Blanche I'm sure your milk will be plentiful very soon!
wow - 15 days, god I hope not! Sad
Had a few twinges last night but nothing to get excited about. lets see what today brings!
DH went back to work this morning - he's a bit gutted as he thought he'd finished for few weeks but he's booked tomorrow off in the vain hope it might be baby day! Grin

anonMum2 · 24/01/2011 09:17

Busy looking after DS all day and have been dreaming that I'm in labour most nights - I've really got to get a life! It was so real last night I woke up thinking this is it. But all it is I've woken up with uncomfortable period like pains which goes if I sit down comfortably so now wondering if I've got UTI? Hmm Not really had UTI so don't know what they should feel like but that's what I imagine UTI should feel like.

People keep asking me if I've had twinges and 'feelings'. Really stupid question, but what do they feel like? Didn't go into natural labour last time, induced and it was wham! Ouch!! so no idea what I should be feeling. MIL pressuring me to have baby now as she's visiting this week. Not gonna let anything get to me though. Relax... breath.

anonMum2 · 24/01/2011 11:11

forgot to say, suspect infection because I had a very unsuccessful perineum massage couple of nights ago. Pregnancy is just not glam!

mamasunshine · 24/01/2011 12:57

blanche you sound well, especially attending 3rd bday party Shock Grin Hope you're taking it easy today!
tetty - hope you get your baby tomorrow then!
anon - Not sure about UTI in pg? When's your next urine test going to be? My twinges are lower back ache, feeling like I'm about to come on a heavy period, tightenings over tummy and sharp pains in cervix area. Hope that helps? My parents are back tomorrow for 2 days (I think) and are pressuring me to have the baby tomorrow Hmm !!

Still 'with bump' here. 41 weeks today. Hoping she stays put until towards end of week now, purely for our convenience with dh's job! So she'll probably come tomorrow now - any ideas on putting labour off until Thurs /Fri?!!! Grin

anonMum2 · 24/01/2011 13:45

mamasunshine Of course they will do a test then, great. (arggh, my pregnancy brain) I'll wait till wed as it's not too bad and just feels like mild period pains. Also, thanks for explanation. All these symptoms you've described have actually faded. Never mind, will enjoy the last few days/weeks.

No doubt she'll make an appearance now you want to wait! Grin

Will be so Envy when you've all got your little babies to cuddle with. Bear :)

clairemgill · 24/01/2011 14:05

mama we're never happy! I'm in a similar position of wanting the baby to wait at least a day or so since I was up most of the night with DD - including a trip to the out of hours doc at 1am. Would like a good night's sleep before having to go through labour.

How you doing tetty?

blanchedevereaux · 24/01/2011 15:49

You lot still here? Wink

I have added a photo of Abigail to my profile. I'm biased, but she is a cutie!

TMI, but managed an uneventful trip to toilet for dreaded number 2 so my day is complete!

Milk is here so Abby is happy and so is Mummy and hoping for some more sleep tonight. We are doing a combination of moses basket and co-sleeping so last night had some lovely cuddles.

DD1 is being an absolute doll and assure me that I am not producing "Mummy milk", it is apple juice!

Still thinking of you all!

x

mamasunshine · 24/01/2011 16:18

Oh my goodness blanche she's absolutely scrumptious Grin What was her weight? We've always done a sleep combination like that and I've always LOVED those night time feeding cuddles Smile...oh bugger she can come tonight, just want a cuddle!!!! Grin Grin @ apple juice, don't you just love toddlers!

We were also up most of the night with ds2, it's becoming a bit of a regular thing Hmm and he ends up in bed with us kicking all night! Also ds1 is regressing a bit with no nappies, he's had an accident every day for the last week Confused After being perfectly potty trained for months?! Just had to bring him home from nursery in a pair of girls shorts Blush!!

mamasunshine · 24/01/2011 16:20

Forgot to say you should all come over and join the january post natal thread...lots of very nice ladies there Smile I'm one of the few that still has to actually give birth!

TettyLouBar · 24/01/2011 16:34

I'm still here too. Some cramping and twinges earlier today but nothing since lunchtime. I had a little more of a show this afternoon - not much but I supposed it's something.

Blanche Your little lady is gorgeous! I'm so Envy!!!
MamaI haven't even attempted potty training with DD, she didnt grasp the concept by december so we aborted mission and agreed that we'll pick it up later next month once bubba here.
anon sounds like you might be on the way with the cramps etc?
Claire its so funny wanting the baby one day and the next hoping it'll wait a day or two isn't it! Yesterday I was hoping it wouldn't be today as DH back in work and I'm also hoping it'll be tonight or tomorrow as my friend can come over at the drop of hat to have DD but after tomorrow day her husband is on shift work and it wouldn't be so straight forward! Confused

In reality I just want this baby to hurry up and show her face! Hmm

We will see. MW coming tomorrow afternoon for home visit, maybe I can get another sweep?

OP posts:
blanchedevereaux · 24/01/2011 22:14

Mama will head over to Jan post natal thread asap! I also have a toddler thst loves our bed so first time she attempts it now Abigail is here will be interesting.

Tetty, Anon, Claire hope it won't be too long for you all now. Just watched OBEM on Ch4 and thinking back to this time last week willing something to happen!

blanchedevereaux · 24/01/2011 22:14

Mama, Abigal was 7lb 2oz.

mamasunshine · 25/01/2011 09:34

tetty - all of our signs etc sound identical! Will be interesting to see how far apart from each other we actually go into labour!

ds1 ended up in bed with us last night Hmm I lasted 1.5hrs of his tossing and turning before putting him back! So she was good and didn't come last night and now 41+1 Shock I hope she is going to come out at some point. Going to take the boys out for lunch, 45mins brisk walking to get there so hope I don't get any surprises Grin

Has anyone had any conversations about induction/your plans etc yet? Have a midwife appointment booked for Thurs when I'll be 40+10 and I know they usually induce in this area at that point. If I reach the weekend going to have to seriously start thinking about my options Confused Have a cesarean scar so my options are fairly limited surely?

Hope you're all well and finding things to do to pass these very long days Smile

mamasunshine · 25/01/2011 10:00

Why do people need to keep phoning asking whether I'm in labour yet? I'm totally unimpressed, and really must sound it too! All of our neighbours keep jumping on me when I leave the front door saying things like 'still here then?' Erm...where else would I be? Planning a homebirth! And the millions of builders working on next door's house have to comment each time....arghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, rant over Smile

TettyLouBar · 25/01/2011 10:25

Mama I know exactly what you mean about phonecalls and texts and neighbours - even the bloody postman makes a comment every time he knocks with a parcel! GRRR one of my personal pet hates - "thought you would have dropped by now!" AngryAngry

Had some strong cramps last night which woke me and then I couldn't get back to sleep. Sad finally dropped back off at about 3am and then DD woke at 05:30 and refused to go back to sleep Angry

She's gone off to creche this morning and DH is once again off work today in the vain hope that it'll be baby day today.

Back ache and cramps were very strong this morning and now its all faded away to nothing! Sad Bit more show this morning.

MW due around at 4pm. Hmm sweep please?

johnnycomelurky · 25/01/2011 10:39

Hey ladies I'm still here too. Had a sweep yesterday which didn't hurt but led to hours of cramps and backache but no contractions so far. Still feeling achey today and hoping labour starts soon. Any news elsewhere?
