Sorry to be a moan-arse

I'm just fed up of the anticipation now, I hate not knowing what to expect :( One minute i'm fine then it gets to this time in the morning wheni'm at home alone - everyone else at work and my mind goes on overdrive.

The past week I have not been sleeping well at night due to thinking too much about labour/birth/after birth etc. and my back is starting to ache lying on my left grrr i try to alternate but have to go back to my left otherwise i worry!

Due date is Friday, I have my 40 week check two days early on wednesday and just eager to know if baby is still in a good position/ if my iron has gone up etc...

Its not knowing what to expect that is worrying me! feeling so pants today :(

anyone else in the same boat and fancy a moan? lol

Did you call anyone Dreema??

I dont think me having to take iron tablets is helping the situation, I have low back ache but i think its the iron tablets not the irregular contractions..........

Rang MW and she said to jst wait, seeing my (nice) MW on Friday so she might give me some comfort & also arrange an induction - yuk :( dread that if it comes to it.........

Sh was so surprised that i'd not had the baby alrady she didnt evn book me an appt as she thought it would be here soon. argh

Hope everyone is progressing x

well no postive news from me either ladies. Spent the night on the sofa itching like a crazy person then googled it of course and scared the lifeout of myself reading about obstetric cholestasis. Rang my MW and she said I neeeded my bloods taken asap so went off and did that waiting for results tomorrow. Apparently its usually picked up on the bloods at 35 weeks so hopefully its just hormonal itching. Just want LO out now safe and sound 40+3 which I suppose isn't really that late ...

Was at MW today and just got the wait and see chat. Booked in for a MS week on Sat. Have had really similar time to Dozey and a very active wee one who seems to be bouncing off my cervix and back does hurt but I think that is from walking around too much today.....don't need to see MW again till a week on Sat when she comes to house to do the MS....did not realise they did that at your house, I thought you had to go to hospital

Evening ladies, is it OK if I come and share the misery? Am 40 + 1 with dc2, had a cold for 2 weeks that I just can't shake and have generally had it with being pregnant. Grrr. Sorry you are all feeling rubbish too, I think it is the uncertainty that is the worst - not knowing if it will be hours, days or weeks!

I should be able to cope better though - dc1 was two weeks overdue and I told myself this time I would be better prepared to go over. Ha! On the plus side thought some of you might find it encouraging to know that last time I had three sweeps where cervix was 'unfavourable', no bhs, no cramps, nothing, went to bed and woke up at 1am with contractions 7m apart. So don't loose hope, even when you don't have any pre-labour signs it can still happen naturally and quickly!

Sending positive labour vibes your way Smile

Dreemagurl · 28/10/2010 07:54

Hi all, just a very quick one. Saw my midwife yesterday who did another sweep despite the slight contractions I was having. Was in established labour by early evening and my DD was born at 01:30 this morning! Don't give up hope, your little angels will be here soon. And as an additional word of advice - those of you who want to go as naturally as possible, gas and air is your friend! Also don't be ashamed of giving in - I had to resort to pethidine which was the best thing I could have done.

Fingers crossed for you all and sending labour dust x

DomesticG0ddess · 03/11/2010 13:44

Just to let you all know that I had a VBAC last Monday! It wasn't the birth that I hoped for, but I am glad to have avoided a c-section and am recovering well. Personally I think it's my pelvis and how it lets the babies heads' sit, but I guess we'll never know! Anyway, I now have a DS2, who is gorgeous, and it's a LOT easier second time round, especially bfing.

Good luck everyone and congrats to those who have had their babies. Dozey and sassie, any news?

catholicatheist · 03/11/2010 14:26

OP its my first baby too and I am coming on for 37 weeks this week and I am totally starting to freak out about the birth now! I am that nervous I think once I realise its happening I will throw up! Some days I have been abe to control it then others I have waves of sheer panic!

Dozeyland · 08/11/2010 11:46

sassie23 · 08/11/2010 14:31

Hey ladies
Yes DS2 was born Monday 1st November at 8.17am weighing in at an amazing 10il 8ozs so they were actually right about the big baby!! All went great with the hypnobirthing til about 6cm then things really took off and after a bit of gas and air the second stage was only 10 mins!!!!!!! So he shot out and unfortunately tore badly but I am recovering quite well so far so good. He is totally gorgeous and everything is going not too bad apart from the fact he is a big boy and feeding is quite hard going we're getting there. Congrats Domestic Goddess and Dozey have to find your update xxx
