What do you do about errr ....<coughs> sex when camping?

I have to say I found it a bit inhibiting.

Toddler asleep a few metres away, but that wasn't really the biggest issue.

I couldn't really get rid of the knowldge that there were loads of people sitting around their tents and the only thing dividing them from our bonking was a bit of nylon.

Very paranoid about making any noise and then it was a bit of a faff errr... clearing up afterwards....

Do you all go at it like randy teenagers under canvas or was I not alone in mostly chastely reading a chapter of my book of a night-time?

Book reading and warm pyjamas for me I'm afraid. I have to get to sleep before dh as I have no escape once he starts snoring!

SixtyFootDoll · 14/08/2009 21:51

quietly and tidily and VERY RARELY!!!

Rindercella · 14/08/2009 21:53

Pub toilets?!

nikkid21 · 15/08/2009 09:39

Early morning before the kids get up tends to work better. Or if it is hot everyone goes to bed for an afternoon siesta.

Starbear · 15/08/2009 10:56

nikkid21 That would never work for us. Dh likes to sleep as long as possible. Ds never naps and too many people around. I get to yukky and need a shower. so we just wait until we get home and only go for 1 week.

tiredemma · 15/08/2009 11:10

We went camping and a couple in the next tent were having very noisy sex.

I think that she was just showing off.

PuppyMonkey · 15/08/2009 11:17

The choice is either "camping" or "sex". You can't do both.

LadyOfWaffle · 15/08/2009 11:32

Very quietly and no torches on!

Starbear · 15/08/2009 11:41

LadyOfWaffle Want about the gunk! My DH seems to flood me! Can't remember anyone else being so loaded.

lisasimpson · 15/08/2009 11:46

No but they suffer from blue balls a friend told me in the playground at 14!

toddlerama · 15/08/2009 12:33

We do. Just use condoms for minimal clean up. If it's that or nothing, he'll go for it.

Disenchanted3 · 15/08/2009 12:35

Sex in a tent??

With the kids there?

Ewwww.

lol

surprisenumber3 · 15/08/2009 12:41

no no no, please don't do this

Me, DH and kids took parents on their first camping trip, they were in tent next to us. There was also another tent very close. People is said other tent starting having sex so loudly, I was embarrassed! She was squealing like a pig, he was grunting like a pig!

I was so worried that my mum and dad would think it was us that I shouted 'mum, can you help me put our windbreaker back up?' so she would know it wasn't!

She came out of the tent and we had a little giggle but I swear I have never been so embarrassed and my mum and dad haven't been camping since!

surprisenumber3 · 15/08/2009 12:42

in said other tent, not is

Tortington · 15/08/2009 12:43

shag like a rabbit on keycamp type holidays

quietly

LadyOfWaffle · 15/08/2009 13:39

As for any bodily fluids - shag on a towel. And have another handy.

TigersChick · 15/08/2009 13:46

I'm sure it was on here that I read about a bit of graffiti (sp?) in a campsite toilet block that read something along the lines of ... "Remember: if you share your heart under canvas, you share it with the whole campsite!"
I think I'd wait, but maybe that's just me

Curiousmama · 15/08/2009 13:51

at this thread. Dp and I camp in a quiet field behind a pub and that's brill for sex, sometimes there's only us camping.
Otherwise if you have to then very quietly although to be honest last time we tried at a busy campsite even the airbed seemed to creak

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 15/08/2009 13:57

none when i kow my 2 girls are asleep in next section!
