Gawd, the minimalists will kill us.....

It was Someone Else's idea, all right?

Carry on where you left off, be it owls, bins, sharks, tins of vodka, karaoke etc. [grain]

Gohren am Bodensee says exchange of gas cylinders on it's website.

I did google gaz suppliers, but was concerned itmight just be their equivalent of n power. Nothing came up as google list for camping gaz.

notwavingjustironing · 01/09/2011 14:38

Yes that's what I found, but there were two kinds of screwy Gaz thingies.

I wasn't quite sure which at which bit of Bodensee you were currently residing (have learnt is a fairly vast place)

My grasp of Forrin is no better than Bramble's. HTH.

Right Hammeister Slubberen

I have a Camping Gaz map of Bodensee open in front of me. Placed at strategic intervals are the Campingplatzen which sell Camping Gaz. I just need to refine my search by knowing which model of ze Gaz you wish to purchase.

Then I can zoom in on my target and take them out let you know the phone number.

Awaiting further instructions mein Herr.

Achtung and Au Weidersehn.

Alternatively, if you can help out in a more constructive fashion than this, please feel free to pile in.

I'm afraid I've got nothing useful to add as I fell at the first hurdle of not understanding what you meant regarding the type of canister you have Blush

I'm cheering from the sidelines in support though

Slubberdegullion · 01/09/2011 17:50

you are all marvellous. I love you deeply and strogly with a german pork based love. OK so we are in Immenstaad am Bodensee. The cannisters we need are of the Easy Clic variety. the empty one we have is CV470 plus.

Slubberdegullion · 01/09/2011 17:57

we drove to three other MASSIVE caravanamungo sites this morning but nothing doing. its giant vats of gaz only. they seriously do not cater for tent campers as there are none. seriouslly weird. no tents. Thank GOD for the cobb. but no early morning coffee. Freidrichafen of something where the zeppelins are is our nearest big town to the east. no worries if you lot cant find any. we can embrace cobbery fully. wine and beer v cheap

Now I'm worrying about whether slubber has a charging cable for the kindle. Do we have to hide ourself in a das boot like thingy in the Boden lake (in a hotch potch fashion) in order to deliver essential supplies of Hot tea?

brambleschooks · 01/09/2011 18:27

Chippy, du bist meine schoene liebling und ich wohne eine grobe schnapps bitte xx

ChippyMinton · 01/09/2011 18:41

Oh no no no, running out of coffee is Not Good, hope you got the gas Slubber. Except for breakfast, unlimited wine and beer supply does sound marvellous, though. How's the weather there in Forrin? Nice enough day today, but I see they're forecasting rougher weather in the next week or so.

I've lost track a bit - what camping plans do the rest of you have before it's cold (ha bloody ha, I know)? Except for Holland, we're probably not going to book anything as too risky weather wise, but will do a quick dash if weather seems good on a Saturday morning. Hopefully in Autumn and early Winter there would be better last-minute availability. That's the one thing I hate about small sites. It's a lotto really, having to pay the fees in advance so that you know you've at least got a pitch, but no idea whether you'd even want to camp in whatever the weather turns out to be. Wasted a good bit of beer money that way.

Funtimewincies · 01/09/2011 18:59

Wow, the best of MN in action Grin. Shame the rest of MN isn't quite so peace and love right now Hmm.

I love you deeply and strogly with a german pork based love caused dh and I to snigger childishly, also to ds1's confusion Grin.

Wedding anniversary today (10 years) so out for dinner tonight. Yes, just the 2 of us, with a couple of beers in the pub afterwards. I fully intend to have 3 courses, whether I need to or not, just for the novelty of having a meal uninterupted by small children.

brambleschooks · 01/09/2011 19:08

I must recommend the book 'agent zig zag' which will help salve our nostalgia once slubber returns. Tis the biography of a second world war double agent. It seems that much second world war misleading was done with stage sets and papier mâché.

notwavingjustironing · 01/09/2011 19:14

Funtime, the madness out there is the reason you lovely people are in here with me.

Barking doesn't begin to cover it - did you see the ruck about The Doghouse yesterday ?

MisSalLaneous · 01/09/2011 19:52

Congratulations on your anniversary, Funtime. :)

Bramble, thanks for book recommendation - will add next time I place an Amazon order.

I'm still out of the loop of most of MN, luckily it seems. I did try and venture over to the S&B side the other day as I need to winter-ise my work wardrobe, but the shock at exactly HOW far gone I am was too much, so I rushed back to the safety of wellies and deathsocks. Might have a sneak peek again later. Am I the only woman on this earth that hates clothes shopping?? I feel like I'm letting the side down a little, and my friends think I'm mad, but I can really not think of many more painful ways to spend my Saturday morning than a trip to the shops with millions of people around. A morning with the dentist might beat it, but just about.

MisSalLaneous · 01/09/2011 19:54

Hmm, Riesling.

YellowDinosaur · 01/09/2011 19:59

Slubber hope these fab ladies got you sorted out! Having to go without morning coffee is NOT good!!!

Also pmsl at german pork based love Grin I am very childish with a smutty mind tis true!!!

Funtime have a fun time tonight! Meals without children moaning / pushing the food around the plate / calling the meal you have spent the last hour slaving over 'yuk' and refusing to try it / kicking each other and you under the table / asking 'why?' about everything until your ears bleed etc etc are definately a rare treat! Grin

MisSal I am going to try for another weekend away poss next weekend but will see what the weather is doing before committing...

Nothing very exciting here today. We had friends over this am which was nice then loads of jobs this pm like Asda / John Lewis / Library etc etc. Boys actually really good for most of it (apart from dinner hence mini rant on children at mealtimes above!) Going to crack open the wine shortly and the mahoosive bottle of Baileys that I bought in the supermarket today and chill out!

YellowDinosaur · 01/09/2011 20:03

Not anymore she didn't MisSal

I am not a fan of clothes shopping either. I love buying nice clothes (sadly mostly Boden!) online but I can't be arsed going to town and wrestling with everyone else! Especially not in the sales or in Primark!!! Occasionally I do it (and sometimes even enjoy) but I tend to be pretty purposeful about it and can't be arsed to try too many things on. So not the only one!
