Gawd, the minimalists will kill us.....

It was Someone Else's idea, all right?

Carry on where you left off, be it owls, bins, sharks, tins of vodka, karaoke etc. [grain]

SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 29/08/2011 19:28

Tmi about your bowels indeed-I've just snorted with laughter, dh enquired what I was laughing at and now regrets it Grin

Trip otherwise sounds like fun!

Re camping-I'd like anywhere south of birmingham, even further south really given v young children and horrendous roads to get north, but am easy really :)

MisSalLaneous · 29/08/2011 19:46

Hello Slubber! Was just thinking about you earlier. Not in a stalkerish way, of course until I know where you live. Trip sounds fantastic! Weather here turning cold and horrible, so if I were you I would consider keeping the armpits fluffy on your return. It works for my legs, and have't even got a German excuse. Just joking, obviously not.

lovecat · 30/08/2011 00:58

Hiya Slubber! Have you seen your garage lately? :o

Trip sounds fab - being geographically challenged, I thought Bodensee was a made up place and the campsite you were staying at was in a sea-side town full of the German middle-classes wearing Boden (upon sea) Blush. I'll get me coat....

Yay to a camping meet!

Oh feck, and I'm not even tipsy! I am however high on Jif and Kitchen Power spray fumes as I've been giving the kitchen a deep clean in prep for the advent of my mother later this week.... that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

YellowDinosaur · 30/08/2011 07:05

notwavingjustironing · 30/08/2011 10:24

Hello missus and everyone else

Glad you're having a good time. I've just got back from a week on Anglesey. Putting the tent up I got wetter than the proverbial haddock's bathing costume and there was a similar drench factor striking camp. But I remembered your wise words about camps where everything going well were unmemorable. I really do feel I've broken my fear factor, everything came home soaking wet, but it was only water - so everything is dry and pristine and packed away again now. I was wrestling the wet tent like a good 'un, hung it out on my balcony to dry, and climbed inside with my heater to dry out the bedrooms.

Its a breeze, this camping lark!

Was really toying with the idea of taking the boys back to the forest on Thursday, but the weather forecast isn't nice enough to make it a done deal.

Yellow, glad to see you have bought your new tent - you'll need loads more guff now for it won't you? Wink

Sal, told DH I might be going on a meetup with you lot and he looked at me like I was mad - "so are they real people then?" he asked..... Also impressed with the axe and stove shenanigans.

Bramble, I was at Rhosneigr on Thursday - I was very envious of the boating and kite surfing folks, but I spent a fortune in Fat Face instead so I look the part, but I still can't sail [grain]

Waves to Seashell, Scary and Losty - love the way you keep nipping off for a quick fix of the great outdoors - I felt like a completely different person last week by the sea, I feel very claustrophobic being back in the city and having to wear sensible shoes and clothes. Am very jealous and feel the need to move to the coast pronto. Me and my friend were seriously discussing buying somewhere, as she felt the same.

NB - another geography div who thought Bodensee was a play on words.

Right then, first day back, must get on. See you all later....

Noooo - if only i'd read this end of last week - i was at the Shrewsbury Folk Festival too reshapewhiledamp

Fab wasn't it? Grin The facilities were pretty good compared to some festivals i've been to . Sorry to gatecrash camping thread....

MisSalLaneous · 30/08/2011 10:33

Good morning everyone. Slubber, I can't comment on your bowels as it makes me snigger and I'm on the train. Also 2 (yup, two) hours late for work, so might be unemployed pretty soon. Long boring story involving dh abroad on business, me relying on shite trains etc etc etc. (the King and I - anyone ever watched that? Similar feeling to that as for excuse for Transport for London).

A little depressed at having to admit summer is over.

notwavingjustironing · 30/08/2011 10:55

Hi Sal

yes, am seriously sad that summer is over. We need to plan that meet - it can keep us going over the next few miserable months when there's no camping action to be had...... Grin

OP posts:
Funtimewincies · 30/08/2011 12:03

Nice to hear that you're all still ekeing out some of the summer and that slubber is surviving hairy forrin.

Here, I've been harvesting potatoes, preserving veg and cooking our first roast dinner since March so feeling a bit too autumnal for my liking Hmm.

Wedding anniversary this week and BIG hints have been dropped about the posh gin Grin. I've still not got dh anything though, any ideas for 10 years Confused?
