Anyone else?!

I started making my packing list last night - OMG, so much stuff. We're going to take enough food for breakfast, snacks and lunch I think, and eat a hot meal at the site in the evening. That's the plan anyway. We spent a fortune on food for one day at Larmer Tree as we didn't even take any snacks.

monkey - I only heard about those last night, have no idea what they cost, etc

fivegomad - lucky you getting tickets!

topiarygal - I'm liking the pancakes idea

hmc - you'll have a great time - at least you CAN drink! And I am sure there are little places you can find which don't have many people in them.

The cabanas cost £300 I think!! Madness...but I want one!

I am going to make a banana loaf, take fruit and cereal for the morning. I am also taking a fritata (smug) for friday eve. Finally some bacon and eggs for a cook up on one morning.

Then I have to take food for my DS. Snacks for his, crisps mainly to bribe him with. Maybe some nutekka too. God I am a bad mum

I have packed all our clothes and have packed the day bag. I have looked out some camping stuff, but not all. Going to the supermarket today. Am con

It better be good. Lots of sorting stuff to do!!

DomesticGodess, can you live up to your name and be super efficient and packed today?!!

sfxmum · 28/07/2010 09:28

not stressing about food we take snacks mostly for dd (5) but she is a veteran at festivals, this one is likely to be the smallest she has been to

was looking around for any sort of timetable of acts but seems hard to find, some people I have no intention of watching, others I would very much like to, and I like to plan in advance

DomesticG0ddess · 28/07/2010 14:51

£300?? Well if you book one, can we crash it?

Er, it sounds like you are more of a Domestic Goddess than I am! I have just started though with DS's clothes and medical stuff - but the downside is that DS has to watch CBeebies!! And I decided we are taking so much stuff anyway that I just put the whole medical bag in, that we took on holiday to Egypt!

I was going to take a frittata too for tomorrow, ha ha.

sfx, I think they are finalizing the timetable tomorrow, at least that what it says on my phone app. I was "allowed" by DH to buy the phone app on the basis that I "didn't also want to buy a programme" .

did he give his permission in writing with clauses thank for info it seems the main acts go on until nearly 11pm which is kinda of unusual

packing now as I am going out tonight and we leave in the morning for Dorchester
hope to be at camp-site reasonably early on Friday

CountessDracula · 28/07/2010 15:18

Have you all downloaded the iphone app (if you have an iphone!)

silverfrog · 28/07/2010 15:21

I have the app - not that much on it last time i checked that isn't on the site...

set times are being published this thursday apparently

CountessDracula · 28/07/2010 15:25

It does tell you who is playing on what day though...

Am looking fwd to GC & P-Funk - didn't bother at Glasto as I knew I would see them here more easily. Ditto Billy Bragg who I adore!

silverfrog · 28/07/2010 15:29

true, it does do that - not had much site of my iPod since school broke up I get to wrestle it off the dds in the evening and quickly download stuff then...

I am trying very hard not to make lists of who I want to see. this will be the girls' first festival, and dd1 may well find it hard (ASD)

we will, of course, be shadowing Mr tumble everywhere (girls are 5 and 3)

topiarygal · 28/07/2010 17:23

You're making me feel bad - still standing knee deep in washing and have loads of camping stuff scattered everywhere, I'm hoping I'm much more organised than it looks! DH has the app - I have to wait 'til Oct for my IP - so, so sad ...
So excited now - kids revved up, glow sticks arrived and all stocked up on glitter! Such a fun line up - still not sure if I can grasp Billy Bragg doing book reading in the Boden site ;D

thatsnotmymonkey · 28/07/2010 18:59

Ok- here is what I have managed to get done so far-

Clothes all packed
Food bag- all packed
Flap Jacks made and packed, ditto banana loaf.

Fancy dress- sorted

hmmm...feels like more, but alas it is not.

As for the cabanas, we will not be getting one, my DH would flip his lid.

I am not too bothered about who I see, just want to be there and drink it all in.

AlaskaNebraska · 28/07/2010 19:00

oi dracklier

MrsTicklemouse · 28/07/2010 20:40

FiveGoMadInDorset Just noticed your post on the potty traning thread!! Yes I did, thank you, we've decided to stay in a plush-ish hotel in bournemouth on the Thursday and a few days after, make a holiday out of it!!

DomesticG0ddess apologies for clearly missing your level of domesticity no I didn't see that thread, I haven't been on it much but have noticed some of the people are a teensy bit scary/crazy!

We were supposed to have done a trial pack yesterday and today, neither happened so fingers crossed for getting everything in tomorrow!! I do have a spreadsheet though

don't worry topiary girl, I've got a load in the machine now and we're going tomorrow!!

thatsnotmymonkey · 28/07/2010 21:45

I have been to the shops heaps and STILL have not remembered to buy fucking CALPOL. I know that at the fest I will probably be no more than 10ft away from a bottle, but still it is ANNOYING!

I have packed our camping stuff. I am getting there.

MrsTicklemouse- I am of your hotel plans.

MrsTicklemouse · 28/07/2010 21:49

[totally smug grin] It is well deserved though, not just for the nagging at DH I had to do!!

OMG I need calpol, can't believe I've got an effing spreadsheet but no calpol, can't remember the last time I used it but I know I'll need it!! Have got a variety of plasters, latex gloves and alkaseltzer though!!

thatsnotmymonkey · 28/07/2010 21:55

Hahhahhahaha! I am glad I am not the only one!

I cannot believe you have a spreadsheet...you exist in a whole other universe of organised to me. Please teach me of your organised ways MrsT

silverfrog I feel like Mr Tumble is going to be the standout gig of the weekend. I bloody love something special.

MarionCole · 28/07/2010 22:26

OK.

Camping gear all in the car (we are leaving tomorrow morning, stopping overnight en route)

Fancy dress sorted

DH out at Saino's now buying food

Have water and wine

Need to pack clothes now.

Need to get sleeping bags from the loft.

MrsTicklemouse · 28/07/2010 22:47

For those who have been before, how easy is it to smuggle in alcohol to the festival bit, not huge amounts, DH will be buyng beer but I'm thinking my pinappley, coconutty rum cocktail is a lot cheaper to bring than buy!!

I've got friends who go to latitude and only smuggle, never buy but I feel really naughty, that is a bit sad isn't it?!

MrsTicklemouse · 28/07/2010 22:49

thatsnotmymonkey don't worry I live in an odd world of organised that is hyper organised in the lead up then total panic just before!!!

sfxmum · 28/07/2010 23:02

someone mentioned Calpol sachets yes do take them I always end up 'saving' some distressed parent, then word gets around and you end up being very popular same with nappies/wipes if you have small children, someone always runs out

DreamTeamGirl · 28/07/2010 23:50

Oh you are all so organised!!!

I am off to London tomorrow for Railway children at Waterloo station, which should be fab but it is another day gone, and still no closer to ready!

Oh well, it will al be fine I guess!!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 29/07/2010 07:24

MrsT as long as it is in a plastic bottle then you will be fine, no glass is allowed on site.

Good morning all, the sun is shining, we spent last night in the pub surrounded by stage designers and volunteers and one particular girl who was completely up her own bum. The site looks amazing, there are circus tents all over the place will get a better look today.

thatsnotmymonkey · 29/07/2010 09:55

Can you go off site and buy bread? I have just packed and re packed my food bag. Am making my fritata as I type.

Question-
should I take my wellies, or my short but very warm waterproofed uggs that I would not care if I came back and had to chuck away. I don't want to lug my wellies with me. What to do!!

Five I love up their own bum idiots- can you remember any gems that she might have said?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 29/07/2010 10:13

People were driving in and out all weekend last year so yes you can.

sfxmum · 29/07/2010 10:40
