1200 calories a day = 28" waist Levi's 501

Hi I am starting today to eat 1200 calories a day. I'm 5'8 and currently weigh 13st. I lost 6st 2 years ago and reached 10st. Unfortunately life/work got in the way and I took my eye of the ball and regained. I did calorie counting before and it worked, so I am trying again.

I'm hoping to fit into my beloved 28 Waist Levi's 501 jeans. I treated myself to a pair, once I'd slimmed down. I want to wear them again.

Thanks. I guess it's cause they're small that I'm doubting myself that I'll ever fit into them.

Well, I’ve gone 150 Cals over today as my dp decided to open the most delicious bottle of burgundy tonight. (He is also dieting but went running this morning so had more than enough calories spare). Hopefully shouldn’t set me back too much.

On the plus side the veggie pasta was delicious and I have spare soup and pasta for the week ahead.

YinMnBlue · 17/05/2020 19:53

Well, if you have lost weight, and feel good enough about yourself to say ‘yep, that’s good’ even though you can’t quite squeeze into them, you can sell them and buy a pair a tiny bit bigger. And it will be fine because you feel good about yourself and are healthy.

Bringonspring · 17/05/2020 19:59

Ok my day went well. Tomorrow I really need to plan to get strips in, it’s a nightmare being less active at the moment

lou967 · 17/05/2020 20:16

@YinMnBlue I get what you are saying. I really like them. But I'm losing motivation. I don't think I could buy a bigger size as they're vintage jeans.

@Batqueen thanks. I'll need the support. I'm losing motivation already.

How's everyone done today? Feeling hungry now. I must not eat. For evening meal I had prawn salad with a crusty roll.

Batqueen · 17/05/2020 22:29

I went for a walk then had a biscuit so still about 150 over Grin

lou967 · 17/05/2020 22:31

Mmm biscuits. Haha. I want some :)

Still not feeling motivated. Maybe i'm tired. I'm still debating whether or not to sell these Levis.

Can i join?
5ft 3in, around 11st 10lb down from 12st 6lb heaviest at xmas. I used to be so tiny, size 8-10, put it on over 4+ years.
I do OK for a few days with CICO then binge and 2 weeks later kick myself, start over.. Repeat. I got the half stone off by fasting 36 hours / eating 12. Harder to do that at home so close to the fridge!
8st my ultimate goal, by age 40 which is about 18 months. 1200 calories sounds manageable, with exercise for a bit extra.
Looking on here for inspiration.

lou967 · 17/05/2020 22:54

@Focusanddetermination welcome. 8st is an amazing goal weight. You can do it.

LOL, you have everyone else on your thread now, you can’t lose motivation yet!

How much could you sell the jeans for?

I have been totally shoddy today; good start with lunch and breakfast, but then..,,
Some Bombay Mix (not masses)
A vodka and tonic (but Fevertree Naturally Light is v low cal)
Vegetable Tarte Tatin ( flaky pastry!) with new potatoes
And then...., oh dear.,,2 scoops of ice cream.

Still less than I have been scoffing though, and I did some hardcore gardening.

lou967 · 17/05/2020 23:04

@YinMnBlue you're right. I'm just not feeling motivated. I'm not sure how much they're worth. They're 1993 501 jeans. No stretch and brand new with tags. I don't want to sell but they look so small. I couldn't have possibly been that slim?! Grin

Brand new day today, back to normal, I just had some coffee with Oatly barista milk and will do Joe wicks at 9am

Have a great day everyone x

Allnamesaregone · 18/05/2020 07:09

I’d like to join too.
5’7” and 12st 11lb .
I got down to 11 stone a few years ago with slimming world
Since I’m quite broad in the shoulders I’m aiming for just under 11st - I’ll be happy to see a 10 on the scales!
My biggest problem is evening snacking. We also have teenagers in the house who seem to need a constant supply of high carb food, which I also end up eating. 😕

lou967 · 18/05/2020 08:21

Morning all. Had porridge with Skimmed milk and some blackberries and raspberries. Still not feeling motivated. I really wanted a good fry up this morning. Oh well Confused

I love my porridge, and was the same weight as you in January 2019, dropping to below 11 stone May I give you a filling top tip? Make your porridge with water. Add cinnamon or cocoa powder or some fresh chopped fruit. Frozen cherries are excellent! Let it cool then add a gert dollop
Of 0 fat yoghurt and stir in. Filling and delicious!

Batqueen · 18/05/2020 08:49

There’s a good ted talk on procrastination and motivation - essentially the point is that people who are good at getting stuff done don’t wait for that magic window when they feel motivated they just start the task anyway so I’d say you are on the right track at the moment! Just get through each day and you will start to see some progress.

Allnamesaregone · 18/05/2020 09:11

I’ve just planned my food for the day sticking to 1200 cals and it’s a bit of a shocker to realise how how much I’ve been overeating. I reckon at least 800+ cals of crappy snacks every day on to of what I actually need. 😳

YinMnBlue · 18/05/2020 11:35

Lou - maybe you need a more easily attainable goal as an interim stage? If the tininess of the Levis is daunting?

I am feeling better about yesterday now I have looked on the packet and found that the flaky pastry I used for the Veg Tarte Tatin is not as calorific as I imagined! And the rest was basically roast veg.

You can do it Lou, you have proof, because you have done it before.

YinMnBlue · 18/05/2020 11:38

Batqueen - that's me and work when working from home. I need to stop procrastinating and JFDI.

Focusanddetermination · 18/05/2020 12:07

So far today, got up late because I couldn't sleep last night.
Hot drinks with semi milk
Lunch was 5-6 stalks broccoli. 2 slices bacon, half pot Moroccan hummus
About 450 calories

Weighed in at 11st 8lbs this morning

lou967 · 18/05/2020 13:07

I'm tempted to buy a bigger size jeans then slowly work my way down. That maybe a better idea. The Levi's are tiny but also a reminder of what I did achieve before. They are going to be my benchmark jeans once I've lost the weight. If they get tight I must diet. If they're loose then it's a bonus. I need to keep the weight off once I've lost it this time. I need to end the yo-yo dieting.

Lunch was chicken salad with a whole meal roll and a low fat yogurt.

@TheoneandObi thanks. I will try it one morning. It will break up the monotony of porridge and skimmed milk. What weight are you now? Are you at goal?
