The LEAST discreet place you've breastfed!

Following on from the Lorraine Kelly thread and her GMTV discussion (where she seems to think breastfeeding is only ok if it is 'discreet'), I wondered if people might be up for a discussion of the least discreet place they've fed their children.

I'll kick off: In an O2 store whilst DH signed up for an i-phone.

In fairness to the sales assistant, he did not bat an eyelid.

Whilst applying for a mortgage! She didn't mind at all. I would have done it if it was a man as well though. For quite a shy person I surprised myself!

In church.
Our vicar would much rather Dc's were happy, quiet and fed rather than hungry and shouting the place down

Fed DS2 (7 mo) in school hall during DS1's assembly. Have also fed in his class when parents were invited in to take part in a lesson!

As with you, no-one was remotely bothered - not even the other children!

Also have sat on public bench feeding in the middle of the high street on Saturday afternoon - got some looks but nothing hostile, I think people were just surprised! (Although won't do that again - DS was too distracted and he has teeth now - ow!)

Whilst pushing my trolly around Tesco. Needs must.

I also regularly feed ds on the rapid ride at our local water park. It's not very rapid, you just plonk into a rubber ring and it swooshes you around. He finds it soothing and generaly nods off, and I quite enjoy a gentle couple of circuits of the park while dh takes dd on something less genteel.

In the police station whilst applying for my DD's passport (I'm in Greece, so loads of forms to fill, stamp, etc. Took ages!) The policeman just looked up, asked me if I was comfortable and bent his head back to the papers!

Respect to HuffwardlyRudge at being able to feed whilst pushing a trolley. I am still working on being able to do it standing up, let alone whilst on the move!

God, there's been loads....

think the most memorable one was in the front row of the church at my mothers funeral. Well it was either tat or let dd scream all through the service.

In a meeting with my boss - it was supposed to be my boss coming over to see me off on mat leave, but DS had turned up early enough to be 2 weeks old.

I've also double pumped whilst on a conference call.

GNER train Kings Cross to Newscastle stands out in the memory as a relatively busy yet confined place.

I didn't give a fig if the other passengers were worried about it. It's a 3 and half hour journey. I bet they'd have been more pissed off if she'd had cried the whole way because she wanted a boob.

Having said that either I didn't notice or nobody was worried because in the two years I did BF I'm pleased to say I don't remember ever getting any negative comments or looks from anyone and I really didn't care where I was, if DD needed feeding, she got it.

Whilst on a guided tour of Chatsworth House with ds in a sling.

A mahoosive American tourist was walking next to me and before I could say "my tits are bare in a stately home" she whipped open the front of my sling with a cry of "can a have a peek at your little darling?" which quickly changed to "o.h m.y" and a very red face.

Was very funny.

in 2 meetings with my boss. Didn't think to check if he minded either (just got on with it) though as he used to work for Baby Milk Action, I figured he should be a breast feeding advocate anyway so could probably cope with it...

I will do it anywhere now which has surprised me a bit as i never managed to bf any of the other dd's.

At a wedding, at a funeral, round the supermarket and whilst pushing ds1 up a hill in a pushchair. Anywhere that's the joy of breastfeeding!!!!!! I always thimk it's better to have a quiet feeding baby than a screaming hungry one.

Have done so when the lady from CPL came to do a home check. Also these days I tend to latch him on without even breaking my conversation, lol.

My weirdest was in a taxi in Kosova. They don't use carseats there though legally you don't have to here either

Basically if they get hungry I get on with it. LK would approve though as I am descreet (for my sake not other peoples)

At a funeral (went outside for that and crouched by the graves as the man sitting next to me was very very short & didn't want him to get an eye full!

Down a country lane on an abandoned fridge
Whilst DC was in car seat and I was standing outside (bit of a stretch)

Pretty much everywhere actually
