There is no BF mafia on MN.

There are people who are very strongly in favour of BF. They are right to be, it is better.

There are people who haven't BF and are upset and/or guilty. This is very sad.

But there is no mafia.

Isabel, I'm trying to be objective and this is one way of trying - not a very good way maybe.

What I'm saying is, if I don't think there's a mafia, I could possibly search a million threads and still not see it. Human beings are bad at seeing what they don't believe in and I'm sure I'm not exception.

But if someone says to me, right here is a thread where someone is being attacked by a BF mafia, I would read it with close attention.

HC - no I'm not saying it's OK in any way. It's just that at least you're safe in the knowledge that you ARE doing the right thing for your child and that the majority on here agree with you. When you feel got at (which actually I suppose I have on a few occasions) AND you know you're not doing the best thing for your child in some people's eyes, it's a double whammy I suppose.

Having said that, I don't look at the threads about extended breastfeeding as it isn't a subject I need worry about now. I can imagine there are some pretty hurtful comments on there.
