escape · 18/07/2007 13:41

I don't know really moondog.. tbh..
I'm not up in arms or anything, just see it as all such a personal choice, I HATE the debate and judgemental attituded surround feeding and parenting - bit of a rant really,

moondog · 18/07/2007 13:44

I don't know that Tasja wants a fight.
If she feels good about her choice and wants to rally others who did the saem,so be it eh?

ScottishMummy · 18/07/2007 13:54

silly thread - noone else business - why ask...tasja o why not start a thread asking who uses tampons since u like such personal questions

CountessDracula · 18/07/2007 13:55

i did
but I didn't want to so am not proud

ScottishMummy · 18/07/2007 13:56

nowt to be ashamed of countess, imo your private business

CountessDracula · 18/07/2007 13:57

i am not ashamed at all
just not proud of ff as it is not something I wanted to do!

mummymagic · 18/07/2007 14:01

Weird. I mixed fed from day one. Ff after 3 weeks. Not proud, its just milk.

But I am glad I decided to ignore the hourly schedules and routine and just feed her whenever she wanted it day or night. Which yes, you can do just as easily on bottles

Lyndag · 18/07/2007 14:14

I've been mix feeding from day1, dd couldn't latch on so expressing n formula feeding she is now 5.5weeks old, its hard to keep expressing so at either 6, 8 or 12 weeks she will be 100% formula fed because i really wanted to bf

tiktok · 18/07/2007 14:34

I am bewildered. Tasja wanted to breastfeed (see previous threads) and she had a hard time (baby born at 35 weeks - a really difficult age as the sucking and swallowing reflexes are not yet co-ordinated) with what sounds like very little real support. She then stopped after 3 days with the encouragement of her husband because she was getting upset about the feeding.

No one judged you, tasja. Anyone who knows anything about 'surprise' births and the pressures of a baby born a wee bit too soon for easy feeding will understand your decision, and be pleased you found it worked out well for you and your baby.

Why then start a thread that's critical of people who say how good breastfeeding is (your reason for starting the thread).

I mean....you must have recognised breastfeeding was good at some point, or you wouldn't have wanted to do it.

escape · 18/07/2007 14:37

thats exactly why these threads p*ss me right off, whats right for you? - then go do it.
no need to tell nor judge anybody else.

daisybo · 18/07/2007 19:44

moondog - "orphaned baby calves for an entire summer in 2000"
er....you do know the calves are shot at birth don't you?!
