here's the logo

you tube clip here

sma site

way to get round the new advertising rules, which forbid them from saying "close to breastmilk" &c
anyone like to complain? I would like them, very much, to have to change their logo and slogan again. especially as they have clearly spent quite a bit of wonga on it.

Well OK, but it's best not to make those kinds of statements because they can cause real offence. What I wanted to achieve was feeding my baby without him screaming and me being in agony (which I was at every feed for 4 months btw)

harpsichordcarrier · 14/04/2007 23:09

Christ there really is a right royal bunch of SHIT on those sites
anyway ladies, just want to remind you - not looking for a row

ARSES! then need to email them to let them get their facts right. (well at least one of them)

3andnomore · 14/04/2007 23:10

Must say, when I actually did FF'ed my first ds..the make didn't register with me..I chose the cheapest one (crap mummy me...but HV said they are all teh same)....which was Boots at the time...because non of the makes were familar to me...however, whem ms weaned of I startedhim on Aptamil, because it was a familaiar brand to me (german brand name)...and it also said all about teh omega 3 and stuff...now, never in my dreams did I imagine that that meant they would mince up fisheyes, of course...yuk....but, yeah I did try my best...

Twinklemegan · 14/04/2007 23:10

x-posted 3andnomore. Yes you're right, it was 5 months. Plus mastitis and thrush

VeniVidiVickiQV · 14/04/2007 23:10

Have been referring to Heinz with my last few quotes by the way...

This link shows how their milk is "closest to b/milk than it ever has been", and how the add "special building blocks for development" to their milk

see here

kiskidee · 14/04/2007 23:11

you're a liar, harpsi.

and the effing video says prebiotics. yes, off to complain.

Twinklemegan · 14/04/2007 23:11

Will someone please explain the difference between prebiotics and probiotics?

3andnomore · 14/04/2007 23:14

twinkle that one is over my head..the pre/probiotic thngs...I think they are the same, tbh...lol!

sorry I offendet you, btw...and yes, I must remember to put a "disclaimer" behind that kind of statement...but I always assume (wrongly) that people by now know what I mean, lol..but of course mn is a pretty big space...so, assuming anything is just silly (on my part)!

Twinklemegan · 14/04/2007 23:16

I wasn't personally offended 3 - I've been there too many times now. I just get irritated that's all. Many people do assume it's just a case of gritting your teeth and sticking with it, which is such a simplistic view.

Lact8 · 14/04/2007 23:16

Not read the whole thread.

DP just walked past and I asked him what he thought the logo looked like

DP: It looks like breastfeeding. Is the M supposed to be boobs?

Me: No its for SMA

DP: So have they done that to try and say that formula is as good as breastmilk then?

And he is quite pissed and still managed to get what is being implied

harpsichordcarrier · 14/04/2007 23:16

OK I am looking for a row but only with the combined forces of Nestle, C&G and the rest of the cartel.
bless them every one, they only have the very best interests of mums and babies at heart and are much misunderstood.

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 14/04/2007 23:18

DH said "looks like a woman cuddling a baby"

So I said "it's for milk"

And he said "A breastfeeding site?"

3andnomore · 14/04/2007 23:18

god no...if only it was that simplistic, eh...what I truely meant was all thsoe times your BAby may just not latch on right, cos boobs are to full, thsoe times when Baby wakes up in a grothspurt that you are not forwarned off, or those tiems when it's just a baby being a baby feeding regularly, that people have fogotten to tell us about...which often makes parents go for formula...

VeniVidiVickiQV · 14/04/2007 23:18

LAct8, could it be that he is v pissed and thinks everything looks like a pair of tis or an ass......

3andnomore · 14/04/2007 23:19

that was to twinklemegan btw

Twinklemegan · 14/04/2007 23:20

Not me . I didn't want formula in the house - it was DH who insisted. It was also DH who made me give DS formula for the first time when we'd both been crying our eyes out for about 3 hours - I was so with him!

Twinklemegan · 14/04/2007 23:21

DH is watching a film and not to be disturbed but I will show him b4 we go to bed.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 14/04/2007 23:22

Just asked DP. He said "well, its either a heart, an arse, or an upside-down pair of titties" ("titties"....WTF?)

harpsichordcarrier · 14/04/2007 23:22

lol at titties
does he normally talk like that

OP posts:
3andnomore · 14/04/2007 23:23

(((()))) twinkle...you see my dh would have done jsut that, only wiht us the problem was a stupid minor one....my boobs were to full for him to latch on (with es I also had extrememly full boobs...I mean, I went from a a- to a DD+....lol, but es never had alatching prob because of this...)so never even thougth that all it took but to express a lil bit...until I read kellymum...surely my m/w or Hv should have been able to hint at that)

Lact8 · 14/04/2007 23:23

LOL very likely VVV

Cue lots of Gerroff I'm on MN handslaps from me

hunkermunker · 14/04/2007 23:24

(You should hear what he calls her beaver, Harpsi )

Twinklemegan · 14/04/2007 23:24

Men eh! They always want the quick fix. DH was very supportive, but I know he didn't understand why I was so desperate to make it work.

3andnomore · 14/04/2007 23:25

Beaver always makes me rofl...what a way to discribe your...hm........."Ladygarden".......................................lollllllll
