here's the logo

you tube clip here

sma site

way to get round the new advertising rules, which forbid them from saying "close to breastmilk" &c
anyone like to complain? I would like them, very much, to have to change their logo and slogan again. especially as they have clearly spent quite a bit of wonga on it.

The logo does not IMO look like a mum breastfeeding. At most it looks like a baby in it's mum's arms - a comofrting type pose, not a feeding one. Even FF babies get held and cuddled you know!

FF is a good alternative for baby's that cannot be breast fed, for whatever reason. It's not poison, let's face it!

Ponce · 15/04/2007 20:03

i am talkign abotu my own kdis in an ironic way
so shoot me

Frascati · 15/04/2007 20:04

It just seems to me that this is yet another attempt to have a pop at formula feeding.

The words "evil" have been used ffs

Yes polish your halos for breastfeeding and make those who didn't feel like shite

I did both as said previously

Frascati · 15/04/2007 20:05

BANG

Ponce · 15/04/2007 20:05

frascati opop off and read the thread please

hunkermunker · 15/04/2007 20:05

It's a different thing, not sure you can say half quality or anything like as loaded.

Breastmilk tailors itself to the baby. Formula doesn't. Breastmilk changes taste with mother's diet, the nutrients alter to reflect an older baby who feeds less often than a newborn, if a baby's not well, it "dials up" antibodies by feeding - the germs pass through the mother and the milk makes antibodies - it's clever stuff.

It's an adequate substitute for when a baby can't be breastfed for whatever reason - obviously. Lots of babies thrive on it in this country.

Frascati · 15/04/2007 20:05

All I am sayig is that it really isn't a nice word to use, that's all

3andnomore · 15/04/2007 20:05

but the words evil were used for the Companies that market it so much, not for teh users of Formula!

zippitippitoes · 15/04/2007 20:06

hula we can't say the logo doesn't look like breastfeeding because apparently it does

hunkermunker · 15/04/2007 20:06

Frascati, you're missing the point.

Frascati · 15/04/2007 20:06

I have read the thread, way before you did I believe

Anyway I am not getting a row with you. I did that enough with my old nickname

Starting a new with this one

hunkermunker · 15/04/2007 20:07

Where did I say formula was evil, babies who are fed formula are evil or parents who use formula are evil, Frascati?

Frascati · 15/04/2007 20:08

hunker ~ I am not

I have looked at the advert and can honestly say that I think people are looking too deeply.

Obviously there is some sort of vendetta against formula companies on here

You can interpret that advert how you want. There is no boob and no bottle

Hulababy · 15/04/2007 20:09

zippitippitoes - but to me it doesn't. I can only talk from my own perspective ont hat. And I dpn't think it does. I think it looks a bit like a baby being held/cuddled.

hunkermunker · 15/04/2007 20:09

How is it having a pop at users of formula? How is objecting to shady practices of formula companies (did you see the Little Johnny film on the C&G site?) making women feel guilty?

zippitippitoes · 15/04/2007 20:09

should there be differentiated formula milks by branding and marketing?

if not why not?

I think it's about as close as they think they'll get away with.

I also think formula companies are evil made flesh, but that's just me.

hunkermunker · 15/04/2007 20:10
zippitippitoes · 15/04/2007 20:10

I agree with you hula

ssd · 15/04/2007 20:10

agree with frascati there.

sometimes on MN it seems breast feeding is the only way

as someone who did breastfeed for ages, I know how hard it is, and it doesn't suit everyone

lots of babies seem to grow up pretty well on formula

ignoremeiamtedious · 15/04/2007 20:10

Frascati - did you actually READ the quote you posted?!

Frascati · 15/04/2007 20:11

Hunker ~ are you taking the piss?

ignoremeiamtedious · 15/04/2007 20:11

No, sorry, it's littlelapin, forgot to change back

zippitippitoes · 15/04/2007 20:11

but it makes you are formula manufacturer excuse-nik

hunkermunker · 15/04/2007 20:12
